  1. Given that they make pizza dough daily, there will probably be flour in the air. However, that doesn't mean you shouldn't go. If you know the nachos are gluten-free and you are not super sensitive, you should be fine. Most restaurants and many people's kitchens have flour in them so there is really nowhere that is 100% gluten-free. I have had gluten-free...
  2. Still working on Verse 2 for Gianknit..... but in the meanwhile I found Sam Hill Manhead in my area: Open Original Shared Link but I guess we already knew that!
  3. Many restaurants are accommodating. They may prepare you something separate or let you go through the buffet line first. I would call them ahead of time and see what they know about gluten and what they can do. If you want to go, you should definitely go! You could always eat beforehand if you don't trust the restaurant and still enjoy the social part...
  4. Where in Sam Hill is everyone? OK Gianknit. As you requested, a poem for you. Verse by verse posting. Ode to Queen Gianknit the First That thou art lovely, gracious and so fair Is not news to a psilly near or far. Yet thy sense of humor gives us a scare And Your avatar shows danger to those in your car.
  5. The bloodwork could be performed by your pediatrician. My niece has had the bloodwork. Make sure to have it done before removing gluten from her diet because that would cause a false negative.
  6. I don't know if it's common but I do know that muscle cramping can be related to lack of magnesium. If your child isn't absorbing nutrients, that could be the problem.
  7. This was what spoke most loudly to me- if she has blunted villi I would not hesitate to have her go gluten-free. Many people don't even have a positive biopsy. As far as I know, the biopsy is pretty definitive (they call it the "gold standard") and the bloodwork less so. IMHO, if you want a definitive diagnosis, you may want a 2nd opinion since I'm not...
  8. I was trying to take up space as HRH requested since the 92 more pages of reign seem to have caused you distress Patti- I TRIPLE DOG DARE YOU! Feeling OK (I think you were asking me?)
  9. Ain't that always the way! OK- I'll try to post more. Hmmm....I don't think I've been royalty in 2000 pages! Did y'all notice that this thread has had 1,034,451 Views ? Now THAT is scary Me and Angus want to come over for a walk! Ok- for the Queen I shall write a poem Ode to Texas They call it the land of ten gallon hats the Bush...
  10. Too phunny- unfortuante names (and of course Alec Balwin in SNL skit Schwetty Balls comes to mind)! Google "Retriver Saves Boy from Cougar in Boston Bar" Great story but the headline cracks me up! Thinking about Smackl (and Scooter- wonder what's up with the reflux? does it HAVE to be gluten? Could it be true reflux?). I worked at a school for students...
  11. I'm in MA too! YAHOO!
  12. All Hail Queen Gianknit! For your reign I give you crowned teeth charms! May they take all your pain away and protect you from dentists grinding! Gianknit- PLEASE tell me there's NO way you got bit by a tick this summer- it's the eye pain that makes me wonder. Sorry you have so much going on with you and the kids. I hope you feel better soon and...
  13. I take a multivitamin, a probiotic (this helps immensely!) a supplement called Wobenzyme (helps with inflammation) and others not related to celiac. I think the BEST thing you can do is avoid processed food since you feel like you're getting contaminated a lot. The more fresh fruit, veggies, meat and products that you make yourself, the better you'll feel...
  14. Wow- wow wow wow! I may have to go shopping tonight!
  15. Oh and BTW, be sure to read the first comment <GIGANTAMONGOUS SNORT>
  16. Well, Open Original Shared Link
  17. I've been reading along (brain death=no psilly) and thought you might appreciate this. Kurt and I had a discussion today that went as follows: "Honey, is one of your boobs bigger than the other?" "Why do you want to know?" "I just do." "yes." "Which one?" "The left one, why?" "Cause everybody's left boob is bigger than their right." "Oh REALLY...
  18. Hi Gobbie- I just read your other post. It could be that your body is so sick that it is having problems digesting food. Stick with basic, fresh, unprocessed foods. Broth if you need to and then add a vegetable or meat that you're pretty sure you tolerate. I hope you get answers soon.
  19. Many of us had negative test results but suspected that gluten was a problem so stopped eating it. You sound as if you feel really sick so you know something is wrong. If your test comes back negative, you have a few choices. You can pursue testing on your own (Enterolab) or you can stop eating gluten and see if it helps. Once you eliminate gluten, give...
  20. I'm sorry you're not feeling well- if It's Rice Dream I'm pretty sure it has barley in it. I don't buy it so I haven't read the label in awhile but I know it was not gluten-free before. Hope you feel better soon!
  21. Yes, it's true. Skaught is giving Viagra to his mods for image insertion purposes only. Should you have an image insertion that lasts for more than four hours and cannot be controlled, please go to your nearest emergency room. Side effects of image insertion Viagra may include difficuly emoticoning, poor spelling and possible X-rated phots being posted online...
