  8. Hi there- welcome to the site! It's not nearly as scary as that book makes it sound. As far as I know as well, tocopherol acetate is not a problem. I don't know of any dish soaps that contain gluten. That doesn't mean there are none, but I have yet to encounter one in 5 years of being gluten-free. Same with laundry detergents. Like someone else...

  12. Happy Boxing Day! Why does it seem so exotic and cool to me? Jess :wub:10 YOU are the poet!! I must say I love both of these! If I had to chose, J Jill would win but...... I got a beautiferous winter white wool coat from Kurt. So pretty I'm afraid to wear it!

  14. The other thing people need to remember is that Amy's is not Glutino or gluten-free Pantry. Their foods are not dedicated to the gluten-free population- they are VEGETARIAN. For some it could be the degree of CC (but when I had my worst reaction they sent a sample to the University of Nebraska from my batch and it only had 33 ppm which is not a lot)....
  15. Some people DO get more sensitive at first and if he ate at Taco Bell, I'll bet he got glutened. They are notoriously bad- like most fast food places. Also, if you are baking with regular flour and don't clean up enough (which is almost impossible because all it takes is one small particle) that could cause problems. When I first went gluten-free, I got...
  16. Yup....shirtless and they all look like this cause it actually is MY town (for all you sillies who don't know, I live in Beverly, MA)
  17. I've never had a problem with them but could you have additional intolerances? Soy or dairy?
  18. I'm sorry you got sick (I've been there) but they didn't lie. The label said shared equipment or facility which is true of may many products. Like tarnalberry said, your kitchen is a shared facility. I hope you feel better soon.
  19. Here's a good response to that question for wheat: Open Original Shared Link The simple answer is the grass is gluten-free, but if you get a seed then you will get gluten. The same is true for barley. I wouldn't risk it for myself.

  23. I would call the drug company first. I don't know of any thyroid meds that contain gluten either (I took Armour and now a compounded version). Did you change anything else at all? Think hair and body products (shampoo, moisturizer, lipstick). Even if you bought the same products you always use, did you read the label? I get lazy and forget that shampoo...
  24. Keep em coming! My dad is bringing a pair of shoes from the 1960's  Emily and Peter, just found this. The question we ALL want to know the answer to:
  25. The last time I had a scope, I showed the beginning of it. Not full-blown but may be coming down the pike. I freaked out because I thought it meant cancer in the future. But my GI assured me they will continue to monitor it and that it does not mean cancer anymore than GERD does. From the NIH Digestive Diseases site Open Original Shared Link "People...
