  10. Thats interesting, I was only diagnosed with diabetes 3 weeks ago and have not been glutened (knock wood) in awhile. I wonder how many of us were diabetic before celiac and how many celiac before diabetic.

  13. Sort of all hit me at once so when I got pneumonia and a broken rib from coughing the no smoking was kind of a no brainer. Just have to keep looking for new stuff to try.

  15. I'm still waiting for the Bernstein book but my BG has started to even out and show some patterns .. your advice has helped very very much. I still wonder why after sleeping my morning readings are so much higher than during the day. 80-100 in the day and 135 when I wake up -- hope te book comes soon! ken

  17. Made mint Jelly last year and mint jalapeno a few months ago. I would also put a bunch in a jar of White vinegar then forget about it for a year. Mint vinegar in other creations is really nice. ken

Besides cross contamination in the factory, often the noodles are coated with starch -- the labels which I can read must of, often just say starch but sometimes they will show the chinese characters for flour which is usually wheat. When you get the potato noodles are they in liquid or dry? the liquid ones are usually safer and sometimes made with a mix...
  19. The last gluten free dinner in HAwaii started about 1pm and lasted until -- I cant remember Thats great you can sit next to smokers. I'm not at the point yet and have to move far away --especially if I was drinking.. 1/2 the time I get sick from the smell and 1/2 the time I want to bum one! ken
  20. When everyone shows up in Hawaii I can guarantee a great gluten free meal as well as a selection of tropical fruit that I'd bet you never heard of!.
  21. Sure adds up -- We've had such trouble with the vog (smoke from the volcano) that it feels like I"m smoking anyway.... today is clear and sunny for the first time in weeks.
  22. This was my problem too -- about 4 years of gluten-free carbs gave way to diabetes 3 weeks ago. Now I'm counting carbs and calories. It's amazing how much we consumer when we do count. I'm still looking for solutions since there is only so much spinach and lettuce I can consume! good luck
  23. I keep thinking of the positive changes as I head into the 4th week. I may have stopped because of a broken rib and coughing from pneumonia but sure am glad.. its like all of a sudden I can breath through my nose without taking actifed or sudefed or something. KInd of surprises me to get this much air, especially since we have some problems with volcano...

  25. Thanks much, I can really understand why people become antismoking zealots -- everyplace I went today, post office, store, grand daughters school -- someone was in the parking lot smoking. At first I wanted to breath it and remember what it was like and then I wanted to get away from it -- really does stink -- take care
