  1. Hi, A lot of the seeds in tropical fruit contain unusual chemicals as does the latex. Some latex like ofrm chico sapodilla fruit was where teh first chewing gum came from. The latex from fresh figs hower can cause a lot of skin irritations. I work with a lot of figs and have to be very careful not to get the latex on my arms which seems to cause blisters...

Generally the berries contain tiny seeds but with some types of tropical fruit or tropical berries, the seeds can contain other compounds that are considered to be a hazzard and have some toxins. Cherimoya and those in the aannona family of fruits have seeds that should not be ingested as does loquat and some of teh sapotes. None of them have gluten though...
  3. Ialways make avocado soup which is just 3 avocados in a food processor with almond or soy milk and a bunch of fresh dill. Really refreshing.     There are a number of health food restaurants called Be-Good cafe. I;ve been to the one in Meguro Tokyo which has some thingsbut that s along way from my place so I tend to visit friends restaurants.   10. Hi, I grow coffee in Hawaii and enjoy flavoring it naturally at times. Try grinding beans ( whole beans is are always best) along with a cinnamon stick, or dry orange peel, or nuts warmed in the oven. Even with chocoloate that you know is safe. Ken

  13. I usually break out within 10 minutes. Small blisters and rash on my hands that move up the arms. Within a half hour I get cramps and become lethargic. In my case it's always been accidental over the past 1.5 years. I try to track down the problem so as not to repeat it.   14. Hi, The bonefish places in Chicago have gluten-free menus as they are owned bythe Outback chain. I live in Hawaii and used to very fresh fish but always go there when I visit family.   20. Hi, I live in Kona on the Big Island but have to go to Maui sometimes for business. There are a number of good high end restaurants like Merrimans which will make sure things are gluten free. They do have a great fruit plate which changes daily depending on whts in season. Anywhere in Hawaii you have to be careful of soy sauce, they tend to dump it...
