  1. Okay so I was training a client last week at the gym and talking supplements when she told me that she purchases Isotonix supplements... she said her sister sells them... I was skeptical but got on the line w/ her sister and discussed how I needed to find supplementation that was wheat and gluten free... she brought a couple of bottles over to the gym and...
  2. Thanks so much for your support and knowledge... I would truly be lost without this forum!!! I feel better today... but still a little off kilter... I've just been drinking lots of water and carrot juice (known intestinal healer) and just trying to remain calm... I was after all way worse back when I was glutening myself on a daily basis before knowing...
  3. Has anyone heard of Robert's Formula? I was reading some info on it last night through a google search... that it is known to help heal intestinal damage caused by Celiac, Chrons, etc... Open Original Shared Link I was wondering where I would purchase such a supplement?
  4. So I went in for my monthly colonic yesterday... and after my session my CHT gave me the usual probiotic cocktail... I noticed that the color of the cocktail was different... but I didn't think anything of it... and then within an hour of drinking it... all the familiar symptoms came on with a vengeance... severe bloating, cramping, back pain and mucousy...
  5. Here are some easy recipe ideas for coconut flour: Open Original Shared Link let me know if you want specific recipes and I look them up and the book and see if I can find a comparable one...
  6. Before I went gluten free... my symptoms were so weird... and fierce... but now most seem to be manageable... the emotional aspect (and the anger I feel about this disease not being recognized the way it should be) has been the hardest for me to deal with... but basically I am talking about Celiac's with every person I meet... and in my profession... I meet...
  7. Everyone here has been so very helpful... I would be ripping out what's left of my hair trying to figure this thing out on my own...
  8. Girl... trust me I know how you feel... the shed I experienced came on so suddenly and rapidly but then just continued and continued and continued... I would literally cry every morning during and after my shower... my hair fall has slowed down since I went gluten free... and is slowly tapering off... and I can see a fine new fringe of hair along my hairline...
  9. Well for me... I had always had this weird skin and scalp sensitivity... I would get really itchy bumps randomly on my head and my face... never linked it to celiac's... but after I changed my diet I had read on here somewhere that since gluten can be absorbed through the skin... and since it causes an autoimmune reaction (not just a digestion issue) and...
  10. okay so the cake was pretty good... denser and moister than a regular cake... but pretty tasty... I did a yellow cake... the recipe called for a dozen eggs... so the cake had almost a vanilla custard taste and texture... everyone loved it... I bet the chocolate would be wicked decadent... I'm gonna make some blueberry muffins with it before the weekend...
  11. Got my order from gluten free breadbasket today... I bought the country white bread, crusty rolls, bagels and bread crumbs... Tested out a slice of the country white with peanut butter... toasted... and it's not too bad... I mean it's not as tasty as regular glutenous breads obviously but it will do the job... the texture and taste of this bread is the...
  12. Well.... I've tried a few of Amy's concoctions and although never had a reaction... thought the stuff tasted pretty nasty... so I won't be purchasing anymore products anyway...
  13. what exactly is the context of the book? I mean... is there info in the book that I can't find out on these boards etc?
  14. From what I understand... you would use less coconut flour than traditional flour in standard recipes... it's sort of concentrated I guess would be the word??? Anyway... I made hubby a bday cake this morning... I'll let you all know how it went after we eat it for dessert today... it smells and looks pretty yummy anyway...
  15. Hey Karen I doctored up one of your letters and sent it to my local newspaper's letter to the editor last night... they called me just a few minutes ago to verify I wrote the letter so that they can run it!!! Okay so I've been thinking about organizing a charity event for celiac awareness... like one of the other poster's mentioned... anyway I'm a skier...
  16. Awesome letters!!! I don't have insurance (that's a whole nutha post.. lol) but I think these letters could be revised so that they can be sent to any organization or company... hmmm... one of my new clients is a reporter for our local paper... I think I'll ask her to do a piece on celiacs...
  17. Well I cannot speak from personal experience yet... but one of my mom's friends said that the blueberry muffin recipe is out of this world... even better tasting than traditional blueberry muffin recipes... so I'm pretty psyched... the cookbook has recipes for all sorts of stuff... drop biscuits, breads, cookies, cakes, etc... and I love the fact that he...

  21. They are soooo good that I favor them over my former protein shakes any day of the week... they're very yummy... I mix mine with water or almond milk and when mixed w/ the milk they taste like milkshakes. I've tried all three egg protein varieties... my hubby likes the whey pina colada and strawberry.
  22. Cardio is cardio... and it will help you lose weight either way... but... if you really want to lose fat weight... you should add resistance training to your routine... two good sessions per week is all you really need provided you are using weight that is challenging enough and doing enough sets/reps... regardless... muscle burns fat... here's a good site...

  24. Why not make a special gift basket up? Like a basket filled with honeymoon treats (e.g. champagne and champagne glasses, candles, romantic celiac disease, chocolates, etc.) and also with sentimental stuff like a nice picture frame, a book for couples, etc.) I did that for a dear friend's wedding and she raved about it to all of her friends.
  25. Okay... having found out recently that I have celiac's... and through research and spending time on these boards... I have to say that I am disgusted with the fact that celiac's gets so little attention... I mean if it does in fact affect so many people... why on earth aren't people more aware of this... especially doctors?! Anyway... I don't want to whine...
