  1. You may want to have an ultrasound to ensure that you don't have any gallstones that "got away" from the surgery... a friend of mine had similar symptoms and became very ill because apparently a gall stone was lodged inside a liver duct...
  2. Yes I agree with using D-Mannose... it is WONDERFUL for UTI's... and it's the ONLY PROVEN alternative supplement recognized for being able to effectively treat an existing UTI... I know it helped me...
  3. Well... we ate at the 99 last night... supposedly gluten free stuff... and I've been up all night with an itchy scalp and skin... my hair is coming out in handfuls... I won't be eating there again...
  4. thanks for the input gang... it's helped ease my mind a little
  5. I posted this at my other forum for NH Celiac's... but... thought it would be worthwhile to ask here since this is the place where I've always come to for advice... Anyway this has never happened to me before and I was curious if it's related to Celiac's disease and/or DH... and/or if anyone else has ever experienced it... We celebrate every Thanksgiving...
  6. Tell them to go to the Dover Health Food Store in Dover, NH... LOTS of celiac foods and products and the owners are AWESOME people... will order whatever you want if they don't already carry it... plus they do a gluten free sale day every two months... this is awesome!!! I love this forum and will always be grateful to the seasoned pros here... but it...

ARCHIVED Recommend A Doctor In You State

Dr. Doherty (naturopathic doctor) here in NH who also suffers from celiac's herself and specializes in the disease: Open Original Shared Link
  8. I've been trying to find a naturopathic doctor who specializes in Celiac's... and came across this place: Open Original Shared Link Apparently... Dr. Doherty herself is celiac and has done alot of work in the field... including writing several articles and being a regular contributor to publications on celiac disease... I emailed asking about rates.....
  9. Okay so I bought the Arrowhead Mills Baking Mix and decided to try out a few recipes by the Gluten Free Gourmet... I made apple cobbler... and I made a lowfat hollaindaise sauce for salmon/asparagus.... Both recipe trials came out fantastic... I served them to the whole family and no one said a word about it tasting funny or anything like that... I'm going...
  10. I just bought the food and drug combo... I went for the one time download thing... bc I figure I won't need anything but annual updates thanks to this forum... so far I really like it :-)
  11. Ever since going gluten free... the one thing I have not been able to find a worthy replacement for is bread... I've tried so many different brands... and they all taste like drywall... IMHO... I even bought bread from th gluten free breadbasket specialty bakery... and I'd all but given up hope... but I picked up an Anna's bread mix from my local health food...
  12. The light is... so I'd say yeah...
  13. Sorry sweetfudge for not getting back to u sooner... I've been working 16 hour days and haven't gotten to the forum as much as I would like to... I'll get the recipe from her today and post it in it's own topic for Christmas desserts :-)
  14. I use this site frequently for recipes... Open Original Shared Link
  15. Well I don't have any recipes to add yet... as I am still pretty new to this whole thing... but my mom who is a fabulous cook and baker is preparing an entire gluten free menu for our thanksgiving feast even though I'm the only celiac (diagnosed that is) in the family... I've got the bestest mom in the whole world!!! Anyway... here are some really cool recipe...
  16. Well... I've shopped at Wild Oats and Hannaford's for gluten-free products and could definitely find gluten-free products... but... yesterday hubby and I went to the Dover Health Food Store for a Gluten Free sale they were having (I guess they do it once every couple of months)... and it was pretty awesome... they had a whole aisle dedicated to gluten-free...
  17. I have found Kinnickkinick's(sp?) to be pretty good... definitely not bubbly and chewy like traditional pizza crust due to the lack of gluten... but... with the right toppings... still pretty tasty!
  18. Mountain Sun makes pure juices... cranberry, blueberry, etc... but they're so strong they definitely have to be diluted... I buy them in the Nature's Place section of Hannaford's Supermarkets....
  19. No... it means that if the ingredients listed on the product contain any of the ingredients in the list they provided... then that particular product is not gluten free... more or less... Now I just checked my curl cream, my volumizing spray, my quick fix hair spray and my long and strong leave in... and none of the ingredients in the list are listed on...
  20. Ehrin I provide my personal training clients with a fat burning nutritional plan (given to me by a licensed nutritionist) that seems to work very well... I live by the system myself and the fat just melts right off... of course you should have some sort of exercise program to go with it if you don't already... and I'm talking resistance as well as cardio...
  21. I didn't see any recipes for bread... just muffins, rolls and quickbreads... but I guess the deal w/ coconut flour is that you can use it as a regular flour substitute in all recipes that call for flour :-)
  22. Okay I know this is a weird question... but have of the celiac females here ever experienced celiac symptoms worsening with PMS and periods? I went gluten free about two months ago... and things were going pretty well... but it seems like when I PMS... my celiac symptoms come back... like the GI upset following a glutening... and the excessive hair shedding...
  23. NOW foods makes a pretty inexpensive line of supplements that are allergen free... I found out by accident... I started getting a UTI but didn't want to go on antibiotics and after some googling I found out about D-Mannose powder (naturally occuring sugar in cranberries, blueberries, etc.) so I ordered NOW foods version from Lame Advertisement.com... anyway...
  24. that would be so cool... I really want to focus on healing now that I'm gluten free...
