  1. I know what you mean about wanting to know whats next, once you have one autoimmune disease your risk to get another increases. I definitely have Polyglandular Autoimmune Syndrome, I have diabetes, celiac, hypothrodism, POTS (which is related to fibromyalgia and is autoimmune) and I am ONLY 17 years old! My gastro seems to believe that celiac caused my diabetes...
  2. I was reading about colon cleansing and I thought maybe I should do this becuase the gluten tore up my intestines for so many years. Any thoughts? Has anyone here ever done it?
  3. I emailed them...I really hope it works!! Good idea Ellen A.!
  4. So I am confused, is there a blood test that my GP can do to see if I am intolerant to other food groups? Or do I just have to do an elimination diet, I suspect that I am lactose intolerant. Thanks for your help!
  5. Just to let everyone know the cereal is all processed on the same equipment that other cereal that contains wheat is. One of my friends(whos is a celiac) got really sick from the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cereal. I have had the cereal and I didnt get sick but I just thought everyone should know!

  7. Does anyone know anything about GlutenEase? I went to a celiac support group the other night and there was a lady there promoting it like it was a miracle drug. She said that if you took it and then ate gluten that you would not have any reaction to the gluten or any damage to the intestines. I didn't believe her so I tried to find info online and I didnt...

    ARCHIVED Dr. Guandalini?

Chicago, Illinios yes they are planning on doing it again. I don't know when but they do every year, you can only get tested if you are likely to have. Such as, a family member with it, an other autoimmune disease, symptoms of celiac, etc.

    ARCHIVED Dr. Guandalini?

Dr. Guandalini is amazing! He knows soo much about celiac, last time I was there he told me that there should be something to digest gluten in 3-5 years! I am very excited! Good luck with your son! I'm sure you will both will like him!
  11. When you go to the doctor mention to him/her that you have celiac disease and let the doc know that you have to have gluten-free medication. The doctors usually dont know most of the time if the medicine they are prescribing has gluten in it, so you always need to check with the pharamcy. When I go to the doctor I always mention to him that I need gluten...

  13. That was very interesting!
  14. I read in the book "Celiac Disease: A Hidden Epidemic" that the only make up you need to check for is lipstick or chapstick becuase it can go into the you GI tract. Make up suchs as foundation or blush cant get into your GI tract, so your make up should be okay, but I still avoid make up with wheat, Im scared!

  20. I only take it when I go out to eat. For example, before the server brings my food I take 2 capsules ( I am extremely sensitive so I take 2). Only take it if you are eating gluten or if you think you might be glutened on accident.
  21. AnnaBelle, it gets much easier!! Im 17 and I totally know what ya mean about going on dates. Just let your date know that you have celiac disease and that you must avoid gluten. Ohh and I suggest when you go out on a date, you pick where you are going to eat, you dont want him picking a restaurant where you can't eat anything!! And explain to your friends...
