I am one HACKED OFF chick!! The guy who we were getting our llama from sold him out from under us (or at least I'm pretty sure he has). I am so sad and upset. I went shopping today for a comb and a collar for him............ This guy that is selling him sounds like a real piece of work......who knows if he even HAS a llama for sale. -Jessica -

I just can't stop laughing that I own(will own) a llama named Gus. Gus was abandoned by some people....that is how his current owner came to have him. This guy was going to breed llamas and "just never got around to it" so he was selling him. Gus sounds like a sweetheart and the sad abandonment story doesn't hurt my fondness for him. The guy says he... -
Kassandra, that's awesome!! I had no idea it existed. I was just goofing around on there the other day and ran across it. -Jessica

Never have thought too much about what mayo is made of...you made me do some research!! Here is what wikipedia says about mayo : Mayonnaise is a thick sauce made primarily from vegetable oil and egg yolks.[1] Generally whitish-yellow in color, it is a stable emulsion formed from the oil and yolks and is generally flavored with salt, pepper, vinegar... -
ARCHIVED Awsome (finally A Bakery In My Town)
angel-jd1 replied to Lister's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I'm not a big sandwich fan...however I might become one if I had found a bakery like you have!! Take a look at what places like "subway" put on their sandwiches....peppers, onions, olives, mustard (french's is gluten-free), Mayo (miracle whip is gluten-free), cheese, tomato, lettuce, I'm sure I'm missing tons of things. Just be creative and I'm sure... -
I have been begging and pleading with my Dad for MONTHS now to get a llama......WHY you say? I don't know.....llamas are good for keeping predators away from cattle and sheep. We have cows (at my parents). So finally this week I found a llama that was for sale. Dad said he was "too much money" and we couldn't get it. However, the man selling him took less...

ARCHIVED Whole Foods gluten-free Bakehouse
angel-jd1 replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Sounds like a cookie that would be something like a "oatmeal raisin" of the old gluteny days. Is it something like that? Either way....sounds good. I'll have to look for them the next time I'm at a whole foods. -Jessica -
Hot and humid here in Kansas!! My parents have this silly rule about not turning on their AC until their anniversary (June 29th).....because their ac was a wedding gift......sentimental yet insane!!! I told them the other day I was going home to my own house and turning on the AC!! I had been staying with them to help get the crops in the field......I...

angel-jd1 replied to angel-jd1's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have never seen their products packaged that way before either. However was just walking by this shelf and recognized the turquoise stripes on the corner of the box (total brand recognition)!! ARCHIVED Gluten Free Pantry
angel-jd1 replied to angel-jd1's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Ok, so I sort of "super charged" my brownies hehe. I took two packages (4 cups) of reeses pb cups and diced them up and put them ontop of the warm brownies. Then smothered all of that in a can of frosting. OMG Soooooooo good!! My avatar is the picture of a brownie, the box, and a glass of milk (had to wash all that rich stuff down somehow). I will for... -

ARCHIVED Question About A Recipe
angel-jd1 replied to bakinghomesteader's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
If you have a flour blend that you like to use, then use that. If you only have rice flour on hand then use that....either way add about a teaspoon of xantham gum to your recipe to help "bind" things together. Chocolate peanutbutter brownies sound wonderful!!! You'll have to post your recipe. I am a peanutbutter-aholic! I'm making brownies today... -

ARCHIVED You're Telling Me This Because.....
angel-jd1 replied to phakephur's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I try not to let little trivial things like this bother me. I'm sure it could be seen the other way also. I know I get excited when I find a good gluten free product somewhere. I don't keep it to myself. I tell the whole family and act like an excited kid on a sugar high. I am sure there are times when they think " soooo you are telling me this why?" It's... -
