angel-jd1 replied to JennyC's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
That would be awesome!! I have a quesadilla (sp) maker and the little ones make all the good stuff inside ooze out. Not to mention having big enchiladas!!! I hope they hit the stores soon. -Jessica -
Well now that you have confessed your use for them.....you will have to cough up the recipe!! -Jessica

I totally understand where you are comming from. At my school they have a big birthday bash once a month and there isn't a thing in there I am able to eat. The people look at me like I am crazy when I walk in, survey the goodies, and walk back out with no food in hand. (keep in mind I have told them several times about celiac, so they "should" know why I...

ARCHIVED Replacment Flours For Old Recipies
angel-jd1 replied to FaithMcCloud's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I use the majority of my old recipes......just sub in gluten free flour. You can use something like Bob's Red Mill gluten-free All purpose flour or mix your own. For baked goods I use a mixture of tapioca starch, potato starch and rice flour......it seems to turn out GREAT!! For thickners in gravies and such I use corn starch. Good luck......it DOES get... -
ARCHIVED Sooo--elisabeth Had Dinner With The Queen
angel-jd1 replied to sixtytwo's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Looks like the menu could have been pretty easily adjusted to be gluten free. I'm sure that Elizabeth made arrangements before the dinner so that her meal was safe. Or at least I would "hope" so -Jessica -
ARCHIVED So....i'm In People Magazine.
angel-jd1 replied to angel-jd1's topic in Publications & Publicity
I never in a million years thought my question would be printed!!! I hope it helps to create a bit of awareness.......even if just one person reads it and "gets it" or looks up gluten-free. I am still just terribly excited. -Jessica -

angel-jd1 replied to Lisa's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
That is exciting. Hopefully she doesn't end up on the "cutting room floor"!!!! That would super stink. -Jessica -
Ok it's not like a picture of me, or an article about me. But My name is IN people magazine!! I am soooo excited!! I was searching their website the other day for the info on the Dana Korn article. Came across this thing where you could submit a question for Rachael Ray to answer. I asked what she would cook for a romantic gluten free dinner. I...

ARCHIVED My Great Grandma Passed Away Early This Am
angel-jd1 replied to angel-jd1's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Thank you all so much for your condolances. It means alot. She was a great lady loved flowers, gardening, cooking. She used to be a foods judge for local fairs, she was a meat cutter for a local butcher, she ran track in High school when it wasn't acceptable for girls to do so. She could name any bird or flower you presented her with. She took an immediate... -

ARCHIVED Mac & Cheese
angel-jd1 replied to a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
You can purchase the orangey powder cheese. It can be found in a blue can. I believe they market it as a "popcorn cheese". Places like wal-mart carry it. I hope you can find it in your area. Open Original Shared Link .com/Kraft-Macaroni-and-C...g/dp/B000I60JUW -Jessica -
ARCHIVED My Great Grandma Passed Away Early This Am
angel-jd1 posted a topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
At around 1:00 this morning my great grandmother passed away. She has lived a very long wonderful life (just 3 months shy of being 101 years old). She was very alert and able to have conversations and such right up until her death. She was a very lucky lady. I will miss her. We (my family) spent all day yesterday at her bedside. Hospice told us that she would... -
ARCHIVED Jello Instant Pudding
angel-jd1 replied to surfgolden's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Possibly you are talking about the ready to eat kind (in the little containers)? I think that those possibly might not have cookie crumbs in them. The question is reguarding the instant pudding (in the box). I checked again at the store today when I went and the pudding contains cookie crumbs.....therefore wheat. I would stay away from it. As previously... -
I went to the grocery store today and picked up the edition dated May 14th. There is not an article on Dana in it (that I can see). However there is a mention of celiac in a blurb about Elizabeth Hasselbeck. Am I missing the article or has it been pushed again? -Jessica

ARCHIVED The Center For Celiac Research
angel-jd1 replied to Julie-uk-nz's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
They have been selling these for a few years now. It's a great way to create awareness. Someone might see it on your wrist and ask what celiac is, opens the door to educate someone on the disease!! If you don't have a bracelet yet, please get one. -Jessica -

ARCHIVED Diverticulitis Of The Ascending Colon
angel-jd1 replied to angel-jd1's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Thanks.........Dr wants to send me to a Gastro...........I haven't been to one since my diagnosis The one I went to has since moved. I'm hoping my doctor will just go for trying a round of antibiotics to get my white count and fever down and see if the pain goes away. I've already had an ultrasound, bloodwork and a pipida scan. -

ARCHIVED Diverticulitis Of The Ascending Colon
angel-jd1 posted a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I have been having alot of tests run here lately and they have just ruled out gallbladder. The thought stuck in the back of my head is that it is "just" my diverticulitis. However, like the usual trouble I have with it, the pain is on the right side. Still having fever, vomiting, pain, nausea, chills, not hungry, etc. In researching this......the pain... -

angel-jd1 replied to jkmunchkin's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Congrats!! Babies are so exciting. -
Called and got the results of my pipida. Gallbladder is functioning fine Now they want to send me onto a gastro. The doctor says he is not sure what is going on I'm a bit depressed about all this. I just want to feel better. It scares me to be bounced from Dr. to Dr. again. Reminds me of when I got my Celiac diagnosis......scary!!
