  5. I wasn't intending to make you feel bad. I am only saying that there is no reason *in MY opinion* to miss such special events. It is very selfish. The day isn't about you or your husband, it is about the bride and groom. GO enjoy yourselves. Eat before or after or during. Don't make the day about food, it is about love and family. -Jessica
  6. I forgot about this one.......... it is called Angelic Grooves. Open Original Shared Link The lady creates bracelets, necklaces, and keychains out of crystals and beads. 20% of the profits go to Celiac Research. The bracelet runs 35$, necklace is 37$, and keychain is 10.99. This is what the website says :
  7. They do exist. They are a small green ribbon pin (like the yellow "support the troops) . They cost $5 a pin. They are put out by the University of Chicago Hospital and Northeast Ohio Celiac Support Group. I had inquired about them back in May, so not sure if they still have a supply or not, I am sure you could contact them to find out. Here is the info that...
  8. I spent the night with no power last night. We are in the middle of a large ice storm. My back yard is FULL of tree limbs and wires (one of which i know is my cable tv). I have a HUGE limb hanging from my power wire, so I have power until that falls through! ha Then the power will be off again for 6-8 days is what the company says!!!! It has gotten...
  9. Just a little FYI.......the Barbara's Peanutbutter Puffin's cereal contains oats. Research indicates that cross contamination of oats is HIGHLY likely, so I would advise against this cereal. Also, this cereal isn't even on Barbara's Bakery gluten free list. Open Original Shared Link -Jessica
  10. Herb-ox boullion is gluten free, even states it on the label. It is made by Hormel. That is what I use. It can be found in the regular grocery store. -Jessica

  12. Thanks to all for the kind words, just wanted people to see that it CAN be done and we can be healthy and happy. It is such a struggle, but very worth it. -Jessica
  13. I avoid popcorn because of diverticulitis. It is a condition in which pockets form in your intenstines. Food such as popcorn gets trapped in those pockets and can be very painful!! Other things such as nuts, seeds, some vegetables and fruits can also cause the pain. I am not sure if any of you have this condition, but it might be something to think about...
  14. I know the Gluten Free Pantry sells a dough enhancer that is gluten free. I add it to most of my baked goods. -Jessica
  15. HA HA celiac3270........you post on my board!! I guess I just must be special Even on the yahoo groups it is hard to get a time set aside to "chat" because people live in so many different time zones etc! I own a board there and I have tried getting the chat feature going and it seems to be hard for that reason. I would LOVE to be able to use that more...
  16. Today begins my third year of being healthy and gluten free. On December 31,2002 I visited the doctor for test results and was sent on my merry way with a small piece of paper and a diagnosis of Celiac Disease. Thank God for the internet or I do not think I would have made it to where I am today. I have learned so much from others with Celiac, not from Doctors...
  17. I'm afraid I'm going to have to agree with Susan here, the day is about the Bride and Groom, not what is on the plate of one guest. They have SO much to worry about on that day. I would feel awful trying to inconvience them with my problems. They should be able to relax and enjoy their day, not worry if I got the right food at the right time and was happy...
  18. When I had called about the post pebbles, I was told they were even made on dedicated lines. I was shocked, but very happy. I'm sure this could of changed, but I don't have any trouble with them, and know alot of other people who do not either. -Jessica
  19. Are you outside of the United States? Here in the US those cereals are fine. Malt-O-Meal even has a statement on their website. Post is a Kraft company, Kraft has a policy of listing allergens clearly on the labeling. I just bought a box of fruity pebbles today and it has absolutly no "malt" anywhere on the box. Maybe you are thinking of rice krispies, which...

  21. Looks exactly like the response that I got, guess you just checked your email first . I will have to do some more checking into why it isn't on the shelves anymore I guess?!?! Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm -Jessica
  22. Most likely it is not safe because of the deep frying. If it isn't in a dedicated fryer then it is contaminated. The proteins from the breaded chicken would get on the naked chicken and make you very sick. You can always ask to see if they use the dedicated fryer though, then write the company to check on spices. It is worth a shot. -Jessica
  23. Ok folks, I am sure that many of you use this soup to make your grean bean caseroles and various other recipes that call for mushroom soup. The problem is, that I do not believe they are making it any longer!! I have started seeing cans going on discount then the tag is taken off the shelf and the soup is gone!! It isn't even on their website list of products...
