  1. Oh my goodness while reading this I just realized that I ate spare ribs last night that were prepackaged and had BBQ sauce on them. I looked at the ingredients and didn't find anything that jumped out at me, but if most BBQ sauces have Gluten then I'm in trouble. The other thing I forgot is that I have been putting sugar in my coffee (I usually don't drink...
  2. On the Shure Fine chocolate chip ice cream label it says GLUTEN FREE. Maybe this means they put Gluten Free on all of their GLUTEN FREE products? I'm not sure why it's printed so darn small and it's listed under the allergies after the ingredient list, but It says GLUTEN FREE right on it LOL!! Now I wonder if their Salsa is NOT gluten free because I ate...
  3. Well I can tell you that I NEVER get the Flu. I always feel like sh!t but I'm the one cleaning up all the vomit in this house and I'm the ONLY one that NEVER gets it. I have a day care too, so (according to the studies-which I think most of them are bogus) we should have a higher incidence of infection here. We DO NOT actually have a higher incidence of...
  4. Actually I gave up the cooking a long time ago. I do get my 5 yr. old and 2 yr. old hot dogs and grilled cheese and chicken nuggets quite often, but I also do not allow them to eat them unless they have a fruit or veggie first. My hubby gets mad at me a lot because I won't cook him supper, but all he eats is potatoes (most of the time) and I stopped cooking...
  5. Thanks so much for the prayers and positive thoughts everyone. I'm hoping that by some miracle at least one of them will beat their cancer!! As for snack foods I love caramel pop corn-I think I can have that too lol!! My only snack food right now is POPCORN I think I can have Rolos candy too YUM!! I do like Peanuts but only the honey roasted ones...
  6. It's very common for children to get a false negative even if they are consuming Glutan. If she was pretty much Glutan Free for a couple of months then it probably would not show up. My daughter is 2 and tested negative for the blood test, but I tested positive and my daughter has Dermetitis Herpetiformis, so I'm more then positive that she also has Celiac...
  7. I'm so picky I don't like Fritos or dark chocoate :-( LOL!!
  8. Man my hubby is so NOT supportive and it's killing me. He tries to be so he asks things like "Can you have that" but then when we were out the other day shopping for furniture for an hour I kept saying I'm so starved and then he pulls into McDonalds and says "You don't mind if I eat here do you" I was pissed just because he knows I'm the one with the problem...
  9. Yah I need this info too and are McDonald's French Fries Glutan Free and safe? PLEASE SAY YES LOL!!
  10. NOPE I'm the opposite. I am cold all the time!! I used to have hot flashes before I found out I had Celiac and went Glutan Free, but haven't had any in a while. I'm FREEZING most of the time and LOVE the heat!!
  11. Well I can tell you that before I found Celiac and tested positive, we were concerned that I may have Parkinsons Disease. I'm only 34 and when I turned 30 my head started bobbing like an old ladies. It was a joke at first and everyone laughed, but then when it got worse and I got other symptoms it didn't seem so funny anymore. My hands started shaking out...
  12. I've just recently found out that my daughter and I have Celiac Disease and since going Glutan Free I'm staring to feel a whole lot better, but I find out that my Gram is dying of Leukemia, my best friends Mom is dying of cervical cancer, and my friends husband (who has 4 kids one who is only 4yr's old) is dying of Lymph Node cancer!! How in the world do...
  13. See this is one of the things that I'm afraid of. I have tested positive for Celiac through blood tests but it will be at least a month or two before I can get into the GI specialist and my primary care dr's seems to think that they will have to do a biopsy to have solid proof. I want to go gluten free right now because I'm getting nerve damage and everything...
  14. Marlene, I am right there with you. My kids have been fighting like crazy and I just found out I have Celiac. My daughter has it too and I'm so sick right now that I can barely stand at the end of the day. No one seems to understand that If I cut out Gluten it doesn't just go away UG!! It takes months sometimes years to feel better. I have the same pain...
  15. Does anyone know of a company that makes Gluten Free crackers like goldfish? My daughter absolutely LOVES those and I'm HATING the fact that I have to NEVER let her have them again!!
  16. Aha see that's what I was afraid of. Is there a list of "safe" manufacturers who we can trust to list the wheats and glutens as such? If so can someone direct me to it please ;-)!!
  17. Ok so the new law is that everything that has any kind of Gluten product in it needs to list it as "Wheat" in the label? I read the label to corn taco shells the other night and wasn't sure if the corn starch or anything like that were unsafe. There was no "Wheat" listed!!
  18. Yes my husband is in the picture, but he works for UPS so he is NOT a support for me in the least. They own you there and there is absolutely nothing we can do about that. I'm trying to convince him that I need to quit my job for a couple of years to get myself and my daughter healthy, but he gives me the "well you'll have to give up all the kids sports"...
  19. Oh and yes you can get DH on just small areas at a time. My daughter gets one or two bumps on her cheak sometimes and then a couple on her legs but never like the pics on line. They even tried to say they were flea bites at one time but we have NEVER had fleas and no one else in the house has any of these bumps so I wasn't buying it. Plus they couldn't find...
  20. I'm not a dr. by any means but I have two sons who have exzema very badly and one daughter who has DH and EXZEMA NEVER oozes on my children or has big blisters (at least in our case). I has exzama when I was a child and get it on my hands when I use certain types of soap to wash dishes and it is always teeny tiny little blisters that if scratched have so...
  21. Wooooooooohoooooooooooooo I'm so excited I bought some Glutan Free rice pasta to make my favorite pasta salad with and Wish Bone is my all time favorite Italian dressing, so I'm psyched. Now the cheese is another story. Here are the ingredients. Now the corn starch and anti caking ingredients are what I'm hesitant about. Pasteurized Milk Cheese Culture...
  22. Actually my MIL is one of those very old school type of people. You can show her tons of proof that you DO NOT put butter on a burn but she will still reach for the butter if someone is burnt. She just believes what she believes and shuts everything else out. She can't even set an alarm clock or turn the tape over in her answering machine so there is no way...
  23. Well I'm not sure if my pediatrician is on board with this or not. He has a lot of the "normal" misconceptions about Celiac. He does openly admit that I probably know more about Celiac then him so he has set up an appt for my daughter with the pediatric GI dr. and one with a dermatologist for her DH. From what I read a diagnosis of DH is enough for them to...
  24. Here are the ingredients listed on the back. water soybean oil distilled vinegar high fructose corn syrup salt garlic onion red bell peppers xanthan gum spices natural flavors (soy) calcium disodium edta (used to protect quality) lemon juice concentrate caramel color annatto extract (for color) dehydrates What do you think? Yay or Nay...
  25. I've love a whole list but that will be way too overwhelming to me right now so I really need just the basics or most common ones. I know dehydrogonized vegetable protein is one (or so I think) what are some others? Thanks for any help you can give!!
