ARCHIVED Molly Mcbutter
jerseygrl replied to jerseygrl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks for responding, MG. The type is sooooo small on the bottle, I can not read it. The web site was no help as they don't list the ingredients for me to cut and past here. *sigh* So I shot them off an email asking if MMB is gluten-free. I will let you know. My girls love popcorn. Santa brought a Westblend Popcorn popper for Xmas. They love it, but... -

ARCHIVED Fantastic News!
jerseygrl replied to jerseygrl's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Thanks all! I don't know how long she has been "normal", I just thought we'd give it a year before I re-checked. I use "normal" cautiously, because we all know that this is a lifetime thing, and I don't want her to ever have a false impression that she's done being gluten-free. ...although some day, there will be a pill for celiacs to take that will... -
Just got the results of my Daughters blood work for Celiac Disease. She was dx'd 1 year ago this month, complete with positive biopsy. Well now, 1 year later, her count is now completely normal -- YIPPPEEE SKIPPPY! She did it -- we did it. She was really happy when we told her the great news how proud we were of her results, that we know it hasn't...

You know, this IS a step in the right direction. You cant expect everything at once. I did call customer service, and the rep told me that they did have gluten-free Brownies in their stores nationwide in early summer for Latin Week (our local SB just opened in August, so we missed out). They had such a positive response that they are thinking of making... -

I love Risotteria too -- its in the SoHo /GV area. Also, try the Cafe at the American Girl Store. I think I read here that they really accomodated a little girl with Celiac really nicely, and the meal was delicious. -

Since you all are talking about sunscreen... I have a question too. My 6yo DD has Celiac. No skin outbreaks, no abdominal pain when glutened, mostly neurological issues Do we need to be selective with sunscreen, shampoos, lotions, etc, when skin reactions have not been an issue?

Oddly, my DD never has stomach discomfort when glutened -- she just gets terribly aggitated and really "wigs out" neurologically. That should make for an interesting dating scenerio!! -

jerseygrl posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
There is an article about a young woman who has just been dx'd with celiac disease. Now, instead of the flirtatious girl that she once was, she feels extremely inhibited socially. She worries about getting glutened by kissing someone! In fact, she has been known to carry a new toothbrush and toothpaste to any party in case she meets someone she's attracted... -
ARCHIVED My Husband Spent The Last 24 Hrs. In The Hospital
jerseygrl replied to T-Bird's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
PainPill, I dont have celiac disease, but I sure have had my fair share of panic attacks. The worse thing about these attacks is that it trains you to "fear the fear" of another attack, which of course, brings on another attack. I tended to have one AFTER something stressful, not in the stress moment itself. Like, finally, after my body was able to... -
