  1. I've been following the gluten free diet since the beginning of the year. I have a work function that is going to have a buffet. This is my first time in this situation. Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the subject. Wendy
  2. Some of your symtoms remind me of mine. I'm not officially diagnosed, but have been on a gluten free diet since the first of the year. I've had some symptoms disappear in the first few weeks. Now I am getting blisters on one eyelid, the inside of my nose is flairing up, and I get funny sensations in my legs. I did have a biopsy in the female area that...
  3. We should let the companies that print GLUTEN FREE on their packages how happy we are. I've notice how happy in the posts from Coffeemate and Edy's just recently. I think with the new labeling laws many companies are trying to protect themselves. So maybe if we keep praising the ones that willingly do it now, more will follow. Just a thought. Wendy

    ARCHIVED Frustrated

I have been following the gluten free diet since the 1st of the year. I had a biopsy on the 3rd which came back spongiotic dermatitis. I've noticed in the past 3 days that I have a red rash on my inner thighs. My biopsy was in the female area. I'm wondering if the iodine could have done this? Or could this really be DH?
  5. I decided to go to Whole Foods. Even have a relative that works there. I happened to run into him and he asked if it was my first time shopping at Whole Foods. I told him yes and that I was on a gluten free diet. He took me up to the service desk and got me a list of everything that is gluten free in every department. There are so many things there,...
  6. I wish it had a place to search gluten free. If you search for wheat, it brings up all the different names and what types of products they put it in. I am new to following a gluten free diet. I've only been on it for a little over 2 weeks. I am having trouble finding skin products that don't make me itch. I've been doing better with the food part. I...
  7. Try typing this in your browser: www.ewg.org/reports/skindeep2/index.php I don't know how to make it a link to just click. Sorry
  8. Sorry I couldn't figure out how to make it so you could just click the site. If you type in www.ewg.org/reports/skindeep2 it will take you right to the site.
  9. This site (Open Original Shared Link) is a great site to check soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, tooth paste, perfume. You can easily read the ingredients (I have trouble reading some of those little bottles). It also tells you how safe it is for the environment and you. I thought that you might find it helpful. I know I'm having a hard time with...
  10. I started the diet the first of the year. The rash disappeared from my hands. I feel more relaxed. My left ear that always is full of fluid cleared up. I can breath through my nose better. My doctor was pleased to see that the inside wasn't red anymore. He remarked that he had never seen it any other way until today. He said keep on the diet for three...
  11. I was wondering if iodine cause DH blisters? I had a biopsy on the about 12 days ago. She asked me if I was allergic to iodine and I said not that I knew of. How long would they take to appear if that is the case?
  12. I just checked Charmin is made by Proctor and Gamble.
  13. Interesting news on the toilet paper. I read something on here about Northern not being gluten free anymore. I had just bought some and you could see 2 glue lines down each roll. For anyone that is interested, I emailed about Puffs Plus tissue and they informed me that it was gluten free. I'm battling big time itching down there and have been using Charmin...
  14. Thank you for all your information. I'm still trying to find soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner that doesn't cause problems. I also do have thyroid and take synthroid. My little sister is a celiac. I have seen some benefits, since going gluten free. I quit using colored tissue long ago. It used to give me blisters inside my nose. I have been washing...
  15. I've been having itching for months in the female area along with other places on my body. I really thought I had DH with my symtoms. I had a biopsy of that area and got the results today. They called it spongiotic dermatitis. I have only talked to the nurse on the results. Of course the doctor is out of town until Monday. I've been searching the internet...
  16. Does anyone know what brand names of ice cream are gluten free? My favorite is Stroh's Caramel Nut Cluster.
  17. I just wondered if anyone has had what looked like mosquito bites on the back after a shower? It's winter here, so it's unlikely I got bit. I assume it has to be from the body wash or shampoo that I used. The body wash was Avon hypo allergenic and the shampoo was Garnier dandruff. I'm still trying to figure out what is safe to use.
  18. I am still trying to figure all of this out. I decided to try the gluten free diet. Officially started on New Year's Day. I seem to feel hungry and can't decide what to eat. I grew up with a little sister that celiac, so I have a good basis of the diet. Anyone know of a good granola like bar that is gluten free? For some reason I'm finding breakfast...
  19. Hi Jessica, My little sister is a celiac and managed to have a healthy baby at the age of 37. She was diagnosed with celiac at the age of 1. She had no problems during her pregnancy and carried full term. Her son doesn't have celiac. Good luck and you should be happy. Wendy
  20. I'm wondering the same thing. My blood work came out negative for celiac. I did have the full panel test. The more posts that I read the more symptoms I find that I have. When I look at the DH pictures, some remind me of rashes that I have had. I get the tingling feeling, hot flashes, I take synthroid, my little sister is a celiac, have been treated...

    ARCHIVED Blisters

Does anyone know how long the blisters last?
  22. I just found out some interesting information about yeast infection creams. I called one of the companies to find out if the treatment I had used was gluten free. Unfortuanately I no longer had the box, so they couldn't check. She did tell me that every time you buy a box, you should call to make sure it is gluten free. I guess it depends on what company...
  23. I was wondering if anyone has had a DH outbreak after being treated with Monistat or any of the over the counter creams? Or could it be DH and not a yeast infection?
  24. That is kind of how I feel too. My celiac blood test came out negative. I believe I may have DH. My little sister was diagnosed with celiac disease when she was almost a year old. I have been reading many posts on here and I have so many of the symtoms. I have been taking synthroid for years since being diagnosed with a goiter. I have had many very...
