Thanks for the input. I'm thinking a little box of sandwich bags, then I can avoid contact and I won't get crumbs in the carrier.

I work at a drive in at a bank. We give all the dogs that come through dog biscuits. Of course they have wheat in them. I'm trying to figure out how I can send the biscuits to the dogs without causing problems to myself. I'm sure the bank wouldn't be willing to buy gluten free ones if you know what I mean. Some days I may not even see a dog. I do have...

ARCHIVED Any Experience Of Lymph Node Symptoms?
wowzer replied to Krispy's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I have some swollen lymph nodes too. They can be a sign of an infection also. I wonder if it is another symptom of autoimmune too. I never thought of that way. -
ARCHIVED My First Visit
wowzer posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
My sister came to visit and is a celiac and I've been eating gluten free since the beginning of the year. I have been wanting to check out this gluten free bakery (Celiac Specialties). I got a brownie, a piece of coffee cake, and soft sugar cookies. The brownie is very rich, but good. The coffee cake did seem a little dry. I am in love with the sugar... -
ARCHIVED What About Breathing Flour In?
wowzer replied to sknisley22's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have been thinking that I'm getting gluten some how from my son who works at a pizza place. He usually goes straight down to the basement. I do let him wash his own clothes. I guess I need him to take a shower as soon as he comes home. I have been so careful with what I'm eating, but know I'm still getting glutened somehow. -
I have not been officially diagnosed with DH. I googled rashes after having some real itchy ones last year. The more I looked at the pictures of DH, I saw rashes that I've had over the years that had been diagnosed drug reaction, eczema, hives, poison ivy, impetego. I had a negative blood test and my doctor agreed I still could be celiac. I have a little...

I went through a streak getting boils years ago. Big painful ones. Even had the ones in side the ear, so not fun.

I work in a bank as a teller. We rotate jobs every month. Every morning we put coffee and cookies out for our customers. Lucky me, my job of the month. They know that I'm eating gluten free at work. I have it down to a science, I put napkins on the cookie tray, put on a plastic glove, and only handle the cookies with the gloved hand. I throw it away...

ARCHIVED Ugh- First Glutening Since Diagnosis
wowzer replied to alamaz's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I know it's hard to have a setback so soon. I'm fairly new to this also. I was using a lip gloss for 3 weeks after going gluten free that had gluten in it. Check all your soaps, shampoo, conditioner, lotions, body washes, perfumes and cosmetics. It's good that you are keeping a food diary. I hope that you figure it out. -
Great article Emily. I live in the USA, but was born in Canada. My little sister was diagnosed with celiac at a year old. The more I'm reading about celiac, the more of my symptoms fit. My blood test came out negative. A lot of my symptoms fit DH. I have had so many different rashes that were called anything from poison ivy to impetigo. I have been...

ARCHIVED Maries Dressings
wowzer posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I just wondered if anyone knows if Marie's dressings are gluten free? Had the ranch for dinner. I can tell I got gluten somewhere from dinner. Unless it was the lemon pepper seasoning we used on the chicken. I'll have to check that too. -
I went to a dermatologist after my biopsies. One was for eczema and the other spongiotic dermatitis. I've been on the gluten free diet since the beginning of the year. Today was my second visit. The first one she gave me an ointment, that itched as soon as I put it on. Today she writes me 3 more prescriptions. She basically didn't listen to a thing...

We got a new puppy today. She is an English Setter we named Misty. We also have a llewellin setter named Bree. She is 6 years old and not so excited about the puppy.

I'm in Michigan too. I live in Sterling Heights. I have a great family doctor that had just been to a seminar the week before I brought up DH to him. If you were diagnosed with DH, it seems odd they didn't tell you to follow a gluten free diet. I know the Dapsone helps the rash. I know it sure is frustrating. I have a sister that lives in Grand Rapids...

ARCHIVED Puffs Plus W/ Lotion
wowzer replied to Guhlia's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I e-mailed them and asked that very thing. They wrote back and assured me that Puffs Plus don't contain gluten. I'm not sure if I still have the reply, but can check if you would like. -

ARCHIVED Celiac By The Numbers
wowzer replied to CMCM's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
That sure is an interesting group of statistics. I know when I first brought DH up to my doctor, it had turned out he had just been to a seminar. I know it got his wheels turning wondering how many patients he could be missing celiac in. My blood panel came out negative. I've had 2 biopsies, one came out eczema and the other spongiotic dermatitis. I... -
ARCHIVED Scientists Making Fibers (fabric) Out Of Wheat Gluten
wowzer replied to Nantzie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
That sure is interesting. One thing to make clothing out of it. Hopefully they don't plan to use it in the medical field, like for stitches or bandages. That could be a really scary thought. -
ARCHIVED Yellow Spots In White's Of Eyes
wowzer posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I have these light yellow spots on the whites of my eyes. I've been to the doctor, who said they were nothing to worry about. I went to the eye doctor, he claims nature wasn't nice to me! He said they were from allergies. I was just thinking, could it be a celiac symptom? -
I just wondered if anyone knew if estradiol is gluten free. I checked the gluten free drug list. It says that estrace is gluten free. I know that estradiol is the generic form. I am trying to wean off of it.

I sure wish there were more doctors like that. I have to say my family doctor agrees even though my blood work came out negative that I still could have celiac. The more I read on this site makes me think that it may be on both sides of my family. Some just weren't diagnosed. My little sister was diagnosed.

ARCHIVED Last Two Months...what A Roller Coaster!
wowzer replied to January Flower's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I know that there is a potato vodka. My little sister is a celiac and that is what she gets. -
I'm not sure if my son working at a pizza shop could gluten me or not. I can smell the flour on him when he walks in the door. My little sister is a celiac and used to work in a bagel shop. I would think as a celiac you would have to be really careful. I would think you could easily ingest gluten working in a place like that.

I am beginning to believe after the 2 biopsies that I had, which one was eczema and the other was spongiotic dermatitis, I really think it may be DH. I also was tested for a yeast infection at this time and it came back negative. I have had many itchy outbreaks over the years, that I had thought were yeast infections. I'm beginning to think they werent...

I've been gluten free since the beginning of this year. I had some great improvements almost immediately. I'm back to having some symptoms. The itching in the lady area, some itchy spots here and there on my body, sometimes waking up again with the tingly legs, and now I wake up with stiff swollen fingers and my feet ache. I did go to the doctor, I now...
