  1. My son who was on Prosobee until he was over 5 years old was able to tolerate the 100% lactaid. He was used to the taste of soy and eventually got used to the taste of lactaid. It's pretty close to milk, seems a little sweeter to me. I've used it if that is all we have for milk.
  2. The same thing happened to me after about 2 weeks being gluten free. I guess it's your body telling you it doesn't like it.
  3. I know, that is what I feel like. Ate a baby banana and my throat immediately itched. I 'm sure that I have other food intolerances. I guess giving up gluten wasnt' enough. I had such a great improvement. I'm hoping that I can maybe get the RAST test and get some idea of what could be the problem. Thanks again for all your help.
  4. Me too, but since my favorite which is Stroh's Caramel Nut Cluster can't guarantee CC, I've sort of been eating Edy's. I just don't like it as well.
  5. I'm sorry for your loss. I think the first poem sounds so much like you described her. Hugs, Wendy
  6. I do wear 100% cotton underwear. I do have to dress up for work. I can't wait until May 15. No hose until September 15. It is really hard to get dress cotton pants. I wash my clothes in unscented laundry detergent and don't use fabric softener.
  7. Thank you for your replies. I always read the ingredients, but I'm still trying to learn them all. I just was in the mood for one.
  8. It could be from getting glutened. That went a way for me when I went gluten free. I will get the tingling if I get glutened. I hope it goes away for you soon. Wendy
  9. Brian, What you say makes sense. I have to admit that diet makes sense. But what do you eat? Do you know if taking Acidophilus helps?
  10. I know the Swanson's Organic Beef Broth says gluten free and no msg right on the front of the box.
  11. Does anyone know if the Dove dark chocolate ice cream bars are gluten free?
  12. My eczema did go away on the gluten free diet. I think it was in the first couple of weeks that it disappeared. Be patient it does get better. Also make sure that your soap, shampoo. body wash, lotion, etc. that touches your skin or body is also gluten free. My itching did go away going gluten free. Good luck.
  13. Maybe CC. From maybe shaking someones hand. Also check the ingredients on the bag. I'm sure that has to be so frustrating, especially when you bring your own food.
  14. Ursa, I think it is amazing how you figured all this out. I believe my little sister whom is a diagnosed celiac wouldn't have fibromyalgia if she followed her diet strictly. She also has thyroid, persnicity anemia and arthritis. She uses pain killers to function. I hate taking medicine. I have had way to many allergic reactions to drugs. I am hoping...

    ARCHIVED Applebee's

I 2nd that!! My husband loves to go there. I called the 800 phone number and they will tell you what is safe. I found I can get the garlic mashed potatoes and plain asparagus. They say the saline chicken breast is safe, but I don't like the taste.
  17. I work about 7 miles from Celiac Specialties. I'm in love with the soft sugar cookies. I haven't tried the donuts yet. I did try the pizza and the herb bread. They were okay.
  18. I work in a bank as a teller. After they have waited on what the call a "stinky customer" they blast the lobby with Glade Room Deodorizer. I came pretty close to an asthma attack. Of course my inhaler was at home. I am back in the drive in and it seemed to come in my little room. At one point I felt like I was tasting it. Could there be gluten in it...
  19. I have to agree that gluten free baking is a trial and error thing. Keep trying and it does kind of become fun.

    ARCHIVED Vitamins

Check out the The Dollar Tree. It said gluten free and much more right on the label of their vitamins.
  21. I'm sure it has probably been with me all my life. I just didn't realize it until I was 52. The more I read the more this all makes sense. I'm sure that I have other family members that haven't figured it out yet.

    ARCHIVED Scared

Celiac disease isn't the only genetic disease in the world. At least it is treatable by following a gluten free diet. I have a little sister that was diagnosed at a year old. At 52 I figured I may have it also. My bloodwork came out negative, but I have had much improvement on a gluten free diet. The odds are like 1 in 133 for celiac. I have a syndrome...
  23. I have used Fearns brown rice baking mix to make muffins. I like the recipe because it makes 6. That way I don't have to freeze them. They ususally get eaten in 3 days.
  24. I originally felt I needed the official diagnosis. Of course my blood work came back negative. My doctor did agree that I still could be celiac. My doctor did give me the enterlab information. It happened that he had been to a seminar when I first brought this up to him. I felt I had DH. I have a little sister that was diagnosed at a year old. When...
  25. I spend my time doing my best to avoid gluten. It still seems to sneak in which makes me mad. I so miss Panera Bread Asiago Roast Beef Sandwich. Before I went gluten free, I didn't eat that much bread. It had to be a good homemade bread to even be worth eating to me. I subconsciously avoided gluten for a long time. I have a little sister that was...
