  1. Renee, I'm sorry that you haven't seen some positive results. On top of the diet you have to watch out for lotions, soaps, cosmetics, body washes. Could dairy maybe be a problem for you? I try to just think what I can have instead of what I can't have. I did find that once I went gluten free, I became more sensitive to it. You do always have to be careful...
  2. It's a great day when you bake and it works. I've had the best luck with muffins so far. I have baked some cookies too. All we can do is keep trying.
  3. You are right it was a Luna Bar. I will definitely look for the Lara Bars now. Well I guess I proved that oats are a no no for me. I didn't plan it that way, but it worked out that way. I am so sorry for all the confusion. Thank you all for setting me straight. I'll get this diet done right yet.
  4. I am careful about makeup, lotion etc. I was using a body wash that was making my rash worse. I discovered it had wheat in it. I made the lip bomb mistake the first month.
  5. I am a teller in a bank. I work the drive in most of the time. Every Monday I get to work in the lobby. We serve cookies and coffee. I even put that out every morning for this month. I'm careful to wash my hands after I put out the cookies. Of course the customers grab the cookies when they walk in the door. Some are munching while I am waiting on...
  6. Happy Mother's Day.
  7. Thanks all, I'm finally feeling better. It was a blueberry yogurt Lara Bar. I haven't had problems with blueberries, but I don't remember all that it had in it now. It would be nice if i could eat them, since I really miss my granola bars. I'm going to wait a little to try them again.
  8. I work at a bank as a Customer Service Representaive. Really a fancy name for a teller. I work the drive-in most of the time. I have 2 grown children 20 and 27. I have a 5 year old grandson and a 3 year old granddaughter. My daughter is expecting her 3rd child June 22nd. (another girl).
  9. Mine pretty much went away when I went gluten free. I did get glutened last week and I noticed I did get that reaction also. Another one to add to my list. I had asked my doctor about it, I thought it had to do with hot and cold which he gave me an explanation for.
  10. I finally tried the donuts at Celiac Specialties. They are wonderful.
  11. I live in Sterling Heights MI. I wish you two luck on opening your restaurant. Wendy
  12. You got me thinking, it may not have been the Lara Bar. I ate some chips that I discovered had oat flour in them. It seems the more careful I try to be, the more I mess up. I think they put the ingredients in small print on purpose. I know peanuts are a problem for me. I also know I have other food allergies which I'm still working on. I will be more...
  13. I tried one of those Lara Bars. Read that it was gluten free. The way they are packaged it's hard to read all the ingredients. I ate it 4 days ago. My stomach has been bloated ever since I ate it. I should have known better. I even got the same rash down the inside of my legs that I get from an Aveeno bath. How long until this goes away.
  14. So far I haven't found a bread worth eating since I've been gluten free. I did get some brown rice wraps that I liked for sandwiches. I've taken up making lettuce wraps or taking leftovers. I never was much of a sandwich eater before going gluten free. I do miss that Panera Bread Asiago Roast Beef Sandwich though.
  15. I didn't lurk on here too long. I first found the site after looking up itchy rashes. I thought maybe I had DH. Then I had a biopsy that came back spongiotic dermatitis. I found the natural cure for it was a gluten free diet and it led me here.

    ARCHIVED Bel Cibo

That is sad to hear, been meaning to try and get there.
  17. One thing to remember is that as we heal, we actually begin to absorb some nutrients. I think everyone's body just deals with it in it's own way. The key is feeling better.
  18. Rachel, What you are saying makes sense. How do you find the cause?
  19. Sometimes I eat in my car. Now that it is nice outside, I can use the picnic table.
  20. I know the feeling. I pay a $1 a week for the birthday fund. So far I haven't been able to eat anything they buy with this fund. Maybe when it's my birthday I should tell them I want something from the gluten free bakery!!!! Of course they wouldn't probably want to eat it. But then I could make up for all the things I couldn't have.
  21. Sounds like a plan to me. I love desserts anyways, so why not make a meal of them.
  22. I still have a box too. My grandmother always used to make it.
  23. Very cool Jessica. I've always liked watching Rachel Raye.
  24. I say go Red Wings. They looked like they were on a mission in San Jose last night.
  25. Good to know that. I'm hooked on the dark chocolate covered vanilla ones. I didn't see malt flavoring on the list of ingredients.
