  1. I am praying for Lisa's return to health and strength. Thank you Rachel for updating us last night. I've been thinking about her a lot.
  2. You know, I had this problem for a long time. I think it was 2 things - mostly blood pressure. One was that my stupid doctor put me on an ACE Inhibitor - it's a med. for high blood pressure - even though my BP has always been normal (apparently, it's typical protocol for reducing proteinurea, but for me, it's stupid because my BP is totally low anyway...
  3. Hi Folks, I haven't been here lately because it's just too humiliating. I say I'm going to work out, but I don't. I have absolutely no self discipline. New plan: Buy, clean, prep & cook more healthy foods - today. I've been cheesing all week. I'm going to get off the cheese. It's killin' my waistline. Think I'll put one foot in front...
  4. Don't ignore the couch, man ... if it's calling, I'd say - go ! Go to the couch. The couch is your friend - and mine.
  5. This has been fun, but I gotta go now - Pool time
  6. My wedding - why? I'm sure there are plenty of people who had 55 + thousand guests at their wedding. This one's titled "Skyshow Wedding at the Padre's game". Just another example that I won't stop at anything to avoid having to do any work of any kind. I mean, Really - invitations, seating arrangements ... why bother? Especially when you can...
  7. Jane Says was one of my favorites for years. Hmmm ... surprising, isn't it?
  8. I think that if you're doing a copy and paste this is what happens, but I don't know much more than that. Good luck
  9. Donna, There was a time when I doubted your statement that you were "The Queen of Lazy" and a lot like me. The more I read your posts, the more I'm beginning to believe that you are, in fact, a lot like me, and, quite possibly, we share the title "Queen of Lazy" - can there be 2 Queens in this land? I had no choice but to post a reply to this. Between...
  10. You're a riot
  11. Hmmm - not liking the Beige thing, but, here's what I got - The description works, though - I'm not the most sympathetic person, but I wish I were - Am I really this self-centered? you are beige #F5F5DC Your dominant hues are red and green, so you're definately not afraid to get in and stir things up. You have no time for most people's concerns, you...
  12. I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. The justice system isn't very good at handing out justice. They're really good at screwing people, however. I had a very different experience with the head docs. If I hadn't had therapy (lots of therapy), I don't think I'd be here. The coping techniques were invaluable. I hope that if you do decide to go...
  13. Nevermind - blueeyedmanda covered this.
  14. Crap EDIT: I just realized I'd better clarify: I mean: Oh Crap - I'm bummed about that
  15. I believe I'm intolerant. I had never heard of Celiac or gluten intolerance. I was investigating fool allergies and decided to try an elimination diet. By the time I found out about Celiac, I was already 2 weeks in and had already discovered that wheat was really hurting me. I didn't find out about the inability to test for Celiac while gluten-free...
  16. I'm happy to see everyone enjoying Rachelville again. I'm happy to be enjoying Rachelville again myself. EDIT: I should say - enjoying and sharing and learning
  17. I found out the last time I attempted to quit that I did myself in with wishy-washy thinking. I wasn't determined to quit. I had a weak resolve. I need to remember all the very good reasons why I want to be a non-smoker - all the benefits: I won't stink I won't wheeze after a few weeks (it's that wheeze that you hear during a serious laugh - just...
  18. I'm a little concerned about the side effects too. I haven't made the decision to take it either. Are you still thinking about quitting while you're on vacation? I think - depending on the length of your vacation and what you'll be doing - it may work for you. I did it once. I quit on a ski trip. It lasted until about 3 weeks after I got back (then...
  19. Hello Everyone, A less ambitious weigh-in day than last week. I'm 160 (2 lbs. up) and I refuse to measure my waist. Denial? Yes. And I'm okay with that. Geoff, welcome. 50 lbs, huh? You're looking to get lean, ay? Good to have you here. I've been pretending like this thread does not exist, as I've been bad, bad, bad. I'm up 2 lbs. on the...
  20. Me too. I tried to quit (again) last week & got sideswiped - another excuse to stop the momentum. I heard about that Lame Advertisement (that Amanda mentioned) at a party this weekend. The guy was a pharmacist and was telling us about it. He said it has a really high success rate. It actually sounds interesting. I visited the website to look into...
  21. Okay, I'm soooo going for a walk. Per Jestgar's advice, I'll plan to walk until I'm exhausted. I'll bring some water. Maybe I'll stop along the way and check out some shops. It's nothing devastating - just a matter of a $7,000 bill we're getting for something another family member is responsible for squandering away. I had the $ set aside for something...
  22. Hi, Can you help me out of my funk? I'm asking for your best tips and tricks on getting motivated and clearing the haze. You know, all the things that you can tell people to do, but can't seem to put into action when this happens to you. Something happened Friday that kind of knocked the wind out of me and I can't break the funk. If you wouldn...
  23. Yes, I am, in fact, replying to my own post. After looking into this, I'm seeing that there is no clear-cut answer to this. In fact, that there are theories that crohns may be due to lactose, casein, or some bacterias, etc. So, to answer my question, no, it appears that she cannot eat products with casein.
  24. Does anyone out there know if Crohn's patients have problems with the Casein or the Lactose? My SIL has Crohns and I'm trying to figure out if she can have products with "casien" as an ingredient. I know dairy in general is a problem with Crohn's. Just trying to figure out whether it's the protein or the sugar.
  25. Mtndog, I just realized that I called you Beverly. I think my brain just translated automatically. Shall I call you Mtndog?
