  1. JerryK, How could anyone forget you? You're quite unforgettable - in a good way. So anyway, the more times you get sick, the less times you'll be tempted. I'm not celiac diagnosed, but do have a seemingly unrelated auto-immune response. Maybe once a week, I convince myself, if only for a moment, that it's "all in my head" - like I'm chasing rainbows...
  2. Right on,gfp - I have a lot of respect for you, and typically appreciate your posts, as you seem to know what you're talking about. I apologize for putting words in your mouth and assuming things without really understanding your point. I'm really new to questioning what's going on in our world. I'm from a military family and "Yes Sir, Sir's". I always...
  3. Okay ... if you say so. The statement wasn't about me, but about the author of the article - I understand that. I must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed.
  4. You know, gfp, this is the 2nd time you've made me feel I have no right to ask a question. I'm not a "whacko". I'm just a girl who found out a few months ago that things ingested and eaten is most likely the reason for the years of mental and physical problems I've had. I was raised not to question authority. I've recently found that my father wasn't...
  5. Right on. Never hear of the guy until I saw this. Thought it sounded pretty conspiracy theory.
  6. Thank You CarlaB, This is the information I was looking for. I appreciate your reply. That makes a lot more sense than what I was thinking could be happening. I am going to sign up for the Dr. Mercola newsletter again - my husband used to get it, but he stopped getting it recently for some reason.
  7. I just had to ask. I'm not going to lose my marbles over this sort of thing. I went to FDA.gov . The document is, indeed, there. Sounds like it's probably just more of the same. I guess the thing that bothers me is that, if, for some crazy reason, this does go through at some point in the future, the FDA may be able to approve or not approve these things...
  8. I don't know what to make of this. Here's an article I came across that would really terrify most of us in the US if it were true - but, probably not surprise. It has to do with the FDA & potential new regulatory processes. Has anybody else heard about this? I tend to be anti-FDA, I know. But, if this were actually taking place, I think I'd lose...
  9. Well, it's not shingles. It's actually really embarassing, as I shot up all the alarms and people were really concerned. I was thinking that the pain wasn't nearly as bad as it was when I did have shingles. I think that I had two coinciding problems. I think the pain was probably a gallstone that I pitched - probably into the bile duct. I remember having...
  10. Atypical Bomber : Well, I don't have time to do it today - I have a teeth cleaning at 4. I think I'll bomb your place on Friday. Who would give advanced notice? My Dad says to me - Well, that's a very gentlemanly bomber. I can't stop laughing - it's just been that kind of day
  11. Yeah, I'm not thrilled. I should go do something constructive. Maybe I'll make some gluten-free bread. Yeah - bread.
  12. Thanks for the giggle !
  13. You're probably right. It generally doesn't ever come to fruition. It's been a day to contend with. I'm not freaking out or anything. I just didn't need this today.
  14. OMG - What a day - and it's only 2pm here. Edited: 3pm - not 2pm. First, I wake up this morning with what I'm sure is a shingles outbreak, so I call my PCP. She's not in unitl tomorrow. As the day progresses, so does the pain, and so does the rash, but I did start anti-virals, so I've got that going for me. Then, my husband calls me. There's been...
  15. I agree with them Lister, this may an opportunity in disguise. See if you have county health services. I'm not sure where to start - maybe the government portion of your phone book under county or state. I used county mental health services when I was much younger, out of work and having a complete nervous breakdown. Good luck Lister - Take care
  16. And, while shingles are the pits, I hope they don't go into the pits. That would really suck ! You said something about laughing - thanks Fiddle-Faddle. A little comic relief goes a long way, even if it's only funny to me.
  17. You know, I ruled that out at first, but just remembered that I had a very stressful event Thursday night. Maybe it triggered something. Thank You Awww - You're sweet ! I do have red bells. I just started Acyclovir, so, hopefully, that'll stop any progression. Anyway, it's good to know that I'm probably not falling apart at the seems. Shingles...
  18. Hi, I'm a little concerned, but not freaking out by any means. I believe I'm having another shingles outbreak. I'm going to see my PCP tomorrow, so there's no urgency for an answer - I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with this: Does one need to be immunosuppressed in order for this virus to crop up again, or can it just happen? When I was...
  19. Well, sounds a bit different, sounds a bit the same. There are a few types of Atopic Dermatitis & most have a few different possibilities for why they happen. Here's a link about what I have along with a quote from that site: Open Original Shared Link "Appearance of Dyshidrotic Dermatitis The rash of dyshidrotic dermatitis occurs...
  20. Question: What's the progression of it? Do you get small tapioca-like blisters on your hands (palms, heel of hand - I don't know what that area is called) & maybe the joints of your fingers & then, feet - sole & around heel, maybe toes? Do they break and then after time become scaley & dry & then kind of shiney appearance after days...
  21. Yes, I had considerable anxiety and occasional panic attacks before. There didn't have to be an actual reason for my body to go into panic mode - it would just happen - at the strangest times. The anxiety dropped off immediately after I cut the gluten. It's huge in my life. I've never known what calm actually felt like until now.
  22. I'm deleting my reply
  23. Paula, I'm so sorry for your loss. As you're remembering your friend and mourning her loss, don't forget to take care of yourself too. Kat
  24. Could that be true? I'd love to try to make myself blush, but by the time I can feel myself getting hot, I think it's too late. I realize that a certain percentage of the population is going to be blushers regardless of their medical history. I know - it's a preposterous notion. That's me - chasing rainbows - you know, hoping for a life where I don't...
