  2. Hi VioletBlue, Anything with dairy causes me to get really depressed for a couple days, but no anxiety with diary. Anxiety for me comes with Gluten & chocolate, which leads to angry feelings. My family & I decided a long time ago that I was only allowed to eat chocolate before bed & that way, "nobody gets hurt". Man, I used to be so full of...

    ARCHIVED House

House is on tonight (Friday) - special night (at least it is here). Just thought you House fans might want to know.
  4. Hi Jeri, This happens to me only with gluten and chocolate. Gluten is worse for me
  5. Hi ladies, I'm all pumped up today. I just went for a 40 minute brisk walk. As for heat - BRING IT ON ! Nothing like the 'dog days of summer' to put a spring in my step. Sleeping's rough, but, eh ... that's what fans are for. Tonight: Triceps & Biceps - I caught a glimpse of my hangly danglies the other day while shopping at Wild Oats. Nothing...
  6. It'll be interesting to see how they handle the 'vote for the worst' thing (or if they handle it at all). It's obviously having a huge impact - Antonella? Please. What a huge talent Melinda is ... Unbelievable. BTW, did anybody see the last 5 seconds of the vote-off show last week? That was great - "Why did I decide to scat (sp?)? ... America don...
  7. Liz, I hope you find out what it was. For what it
  8. I think now that a gluten-free diet could help the symptoms. My mother was dx'd with Parkinsons last summer. She's noticed a significant difference in the tremmor after MSG (not saying that msg is gluten - just that what we eat affects us). I suspect that a gluten-free diet would help her tremendously. We think gluten is a problem, but she's not willing...
  9. For me, the winning combo was Paxil + an anxiety med called Busiperone. I had taken Desipramine, Serzone, Zoloft, and maybe 4 others in the past - they worked for a short time. It took me about 3 weeks to adjust to the sleeping, nausea, and other issues. I remember it well, as it was the only combo that ever really worked for a long period of time. Busiperone...
  10. Welcome Maeve, Keep at it, and don't get discouraged. You're going to succeed. Seems everyone's body reacts differently to going gluten-free. I'm on that last 10lbs. too, and just can't make progress, though some of that is because I have selective willpower. I think lots of veggies and low starches is why I initially lost weight when I went gluten...
  11. Hellooooo, I'm pooped. Let me tell you - it wasn't the etherial, daisies & butterflies weekend we had planned. Outdoor Spring Cleaning is not as dreamy as one might think. I discovered that when spinning the wheel of death by black widow vs. life that I have the ability to pre-plan, take precautions, and execute said plan. If I could just consistently...
  12. Maybe you should bring in a big bowl of brown rice & some pears. That would shut them up! I'm joking, of course, but it really aggrevates me when people at the office think they have some justification in deciding what extracurricular activities that everyone has to participate in. I hope you find a good resolution to this rather frustrating problem...
  13. I'm sorry for your loss. It's very difficult - losing a good friend. My Sympathies. Take Care
  14. Hi Ladies, I was so excited to join this thread that I did go for my walk. As far as late-night snacking, I only had one 150 cal. serving of potato chips. Okay... I had a few tortilla chips during American Idol, but that
  15. Thanks, Ladies for the warm welcome. Just thought I
  16. Geez, you'd think they could have at least thrown a little Valium your way or something. There might be a reason you didn't have Versed - it's a little risky for some, and if you had reaction to the local, it probably would have been worse with Versed (I assume what I had was Versed - I took some basic anesthesia classes a while back for my old job). Mine...
  17. Sorry, I wanted to add a couple more things. I think it's kind of funny you would say that you feel "lighter". That's what I kept saying. I couldn't explain it to anyone - I just felt lighter within a couple days of being gluten-free. Strange you would say that ... or is it? Anyway, I'm glad you're feeling better.
  18. Thank you VioletBlue. I appreciate you taking the time. Sounds like we've been at this about the same amount of time. And, the biopsy - that was really an intense procedure. I remember the look on my Mom's face when she saw what Lonewolf described as the 'turkey baster' - she kind of gulped. I remember it seemed dark in there - but maybe that...
  19. Hi VioletBlue, I'm Kathy. I'd be interested to know what sort of symptoms you have, and what's changed for you since going gluten-free. Do you have Celiac? I'm not trying to pry or anything. Just very interested. I wish I'd known decades ago also. So many anti-depressants, and unexplained physical issues. I'm interested in your progress. I went...
  20. Not the same disease, but with similar roots
