  1. Hi, When my grandmother passed away, my Mother called a service that came and confiscated all old meds and supplies (tons of vicodin, etc.). Unfortunately, I can't get hold of her for the next week, so I can't call her to find out more info. She was at an assisted living facility, though, and I think that maybe if you call one of them, they may be able...
  2. Thanks, Momma Goose for the info. That is just terrible. Makes me want to turn my back yard into an organic farm & go fishing.
  3. Okay, Wait
  4. In the article you've sited: Open Original Shared Link it states: "Because wheat gluten itself wouldn't cause kidney failure, FDA investigators are examining other ingredients as possible sources of contamination. Those include heavy metals like cadmium and lead or fungal toxins. Aflatoxin, a corn fungus, sparked a 2005 dog food recall. " 2 things...
  5. Here's how I do multiple quotes. Before I reply, I go to the post(s) I want to quote & hit the "+ Quote" button, and then do the same to any other post/quote I want included. Then, I hit "Add Reply" instead of replying to any single post. All the quotes should be in your reply. BTW, Have I told you all about losing my marbles? I like your...
  6. One personal note: Deb, my sympathies. I hope in the coming days you will find peace and comfort in family & loved ones. ------------- RE: my last post: I just didn
  7. When I met my husband, I had long, natural blonde natural curly hair down almost to my waist ('bout 7 years ago). He loved it. Everybody who knew me identified me by my hair. It was like a goal for me - how long and awesome could I get my hair to be? The last couple years, I'd been wearing it up all the time. Last year, some time, I cut it all off...
  8. Thanks ladies, for your support. I
  9. Sincerest Apologies I'm actually going to remove the post. It was pretty heated. I just went back and somehow missed that it was just a quick search, etc. etc. I now realize that that wasn't the end of any search (FDA Site) for information, however, what I said stands. Those government websites are really not the best place to get 'the truth'. So...
  10. Hey ! I didn't put that heart up there by my post time thingy. How'd that happen? Oh well, it's not that I don't love you guys, or anything. Maybe I did put it in there.
  11. Thanks Patti, for those encouraging words. I'm sure I can do it ! Nicorette: It does help. It helps with those moments when you want to rip your hair out. Calms the nerves. I figure it has to be less toxic than 300 or so carcinogens, so I'll use it for a while to get me over the hump. On another note, I've put in a personal photo of me &...
  12. Hi ladies, Well wishes to all ! This may seem like a self indulgent post, but I'm going at it without much outside support. I
  13. From what I've seen on the board, San-J is gluten-free, and you can get it possibly at Whole foods. Other than that, like I said, I haven't tried it yet, and I haven't been to Whole foods since I found out about it. Maybe you can do a search of the site (at the top of the page, there's a search option) and find out a little more info. Wish I could tell...
  14. Cuervo, My 2 cents: Watch those sauces - especially stir fry stuff. Anything with soy sauce will most likely be a problem. Those salad dressings and sauces will really fool you. Read the labels VERY carefully. MSG could also be a problem (not a gluten problem, but an intolerance issue). It is for me. It goes by many names. You may want to watch for...
  15. Thanks Scott, I kind of figured that was the case. Kat
  16. Hi Ladies ( ladies new and ladies not-so-new), Another record-breaking heat cycle in San Diego. Wildfires a'brooin' up north a bit. Hopefully not a re-play of October a few years ago, but the conditions are ripe. Those fires were a trip. Never experienced anything like that ... hope to never again. Whooooo
  17. Thank You, Sandy.
  18. This may be out of the realm of the rules here, but what can be quoted? For future reference, can it only be info from websites (or stuff already available to the gen. public), or can you quote from copywritten material if you give the author's name, etc. as a reference? Magazine articles ? Books ? I don't want to break any rules or laws in regards...
