  1. San Diego - $4.19 was the cheapest I saw today - this was the cash only price at the cheapest station. Of the 5 stations I saw, the highest for Regular Unleaded was $4.33 - keeping in mind that it's San Diego & that it's Memorial Day weekend. No political stuff here - I was just kind of blown away - oh, and I'm down to 1/4 tank right now, so I'm going...
  2. Maybe for some - not this, though. For me, it's been recurrent and somewhat chronically cyclical for 30 years - dx'd by dermatologists. I just didn't buy that "stress" was a cause before. Anyhoo, ...
  3. Hope you get things under control soon with the anemia, but it sounds like your diet changes are helping at least with the weight! Hey Liz, Good to hear that you're motivated again. Funny how when we have an upcoming event, the motivation just pops in. I'm with you on the rice/bread only once or twice a week. It's tough, but it works. ...
  4. Right - for me it also began when I was 12, and it appeared on my feet first. I was away at music camp the first time it happened. Also, like you, my Mother has this, so I think that in my case, heredity comes into play. Also, it does seem to get worse when I use conventional diswashing detergents (but I usually am already somewhat broken out when detergents...
  5. I know this is a seriously old thread, but I just had a major breakout on my hands (dishydrotic dermatitis - not DH). This one was definitely not caused by gluten, and was most certainly caused by stress. The stressful event took place Sunday night, and by Monday morning, my fingers and palm of hand were totally broken out. I haven't been this stressed...
  6. Hi, I'm just maintaining. I haven't been able to get back the level of motivation that I had. Where did it go? I need it back. I'm off - to go figure out where I put it. I think I might know where it is ... it could be at the gym. I haven't looked for it there yet. It's gotta be somewhere. I sure wish those sweaty, loud guys working on...
  7. What gets me is how many of the comments start with, "oh, you can have this ((insert your poison here...))" What the heck is the dysfunction in people that makes them think that they should convince me that I can have whatever it is? And, even more than that, what fascinates me is that they just won't give up. My next door neighbor is a baker - when...
  8. Hi Liz, You just hang in there. It may seem like a lot, but you can do it. If you just lost 5 lbs, you'd be motivated and on your way. You can do that in a couple/few weeks. I know you want to lose all 26.5 lbs, but let's be honest ... when was the last time you actually reached 150 lbs? I know for me, it was maybe 10 years ago. I'm trying to concentrate...
  9. Well, after a weekend of gluttony, I was up 3 lbs on the scale this morning. This was predictable. I went on a salt binge. Tortilla chips, cheese, salami ... when I break the rules, I really go for it ! I can feel the puffiness in my fingers. The cool thing is that the 3 extra lbs brought me to 165 instead of 170. So, I'm jumping back on today. I'm...
  10. Sounds good. I'll try organic / Kosher chicken in a while, after a period of time not eating chicken at all. I'll do a mini elimination. Thanks guys k
  11. I've been trying to ignore the very likely possibility that chicken is a problem for me & I'm wondering: For anyone who has been found to be intolerant or allergic to chicken, what are your symptoms? It seems that when I exclude chicken from my diet, my bm's are much better. Maybe it's just my imagination, but it seems to interfere with my digestion...
  12. Check this out: I'm 162 this morning. That's 4 lbs in 11 days. I'm sore from working out, but other than that, I feel awesome. I expect that it'll be a few days before I lose another lb., but who knows? Maybe if I keep this up, I can still reach my goal by mid-June. Yesterday, I went for a 30 minute walk, and the day before, I did 20 minutes of cardio...
  13. Right ... Hightop Girl, I was wondering those exact things. Famine mode and salt. I believe I mentioned my issues with salt in a previous post. It's huge for me. My weight can fluctuate by as much as 5 lbs. if I'm abusing sodium. Also, you gotta eat if you want to have fuel for your body. As for me, I was 163 on the scale this morning, so there...
  14. Sweet ! I lost 2 lbs. I'm 164. My waist is reduced 1-2 inches - it's 35 again. I think I just had to get so sick of myself that way that there was no other option than to "quit that b..." - the horrible dietary habits, laziness, all that - I quit it. I'm over it. This has been a great week. So, I'm goin' all Biggest Loser. I'm so commited. I...
  15. Hello everyone, hightop girl, It's frustrating to see the numbers go up and down all the time (on the scale), I know. It sounds like progress, though. My weight fluctuates a lot when I'm abusing salt. I've been working out ... oh yes. My posture is improving, and I'm not weighing myself right now. I feel lighter - I'm also back one notch...
  16. Hi, Pardon my absence. I haven't been on line in a few days. It was definitely a virus on the other computer. We're still farting around trying to decide whether to just get a new computer, a laptop, or reformat. Drag. Some good news though. I've been working out ! I'm down a couple pounds from last week. I'm determined to not eat a ton of...
  17. Hey Joni, There's that Vitamin D again. I've really been trying to get my 10-15 minutes of sun - I've been going for 15 minute walks without sunblock (but I always block my face) to get my stores up again. I should see someone who can assess my vitamin levels. Anyway, hope you get your levels up too. ... Is it one of those situations where...
  18. Well, I went to the gym ... feels good. Got in 20 minutes on the bike, and 40 minutes on the treadmill. I'll start hitting the elliptical sometime soon. I'm crazy out of shape. I'm so ready to get it on !
  19. Wow, Liz, Similar goals. I like it. What a coinkidink. I'll post my confessions or milestones, accordiingly. Let's do the weigh-ins, regardless of the outcome. Once a week for me - whatever day - I'll choose a day of the week. I'm going to work on a schedule for working out & also, I'm going to try to plan my meals and snacks a few days ahead...
  20. Howdy again, I have no idea what's going on in here ... Hi New People Hi, also, the ones I'm familiar with Here are my Weight Loss Confessions I've lost no weight. I'm in need of change ... change of habits and of flabbiness. I love working out. Why don't I do it more? I'm fed up with carrying it around. At a size 12, I look...
  21. Hi everyone , So, Jen & Shae, This thread is kind of weird. Like, I'll stay away from posting because I feel all guilty about my diet or I just don't feel like thinking about it, & then, I'll get inspired & come back. It'd be cool if we all posted regularly. Anyway, how are you guys doing? ____________________________________...
  22. Top ah the mahrnin' toooo yah !
  23. Hello pinkrockstar, Welcome. Hi everyone, Well, I've been good with food, bad with exercise for the last couple days. I'm on whole foods + chicken & fish now. We'll see how that goes. I have to make enchiladas this weekend. Hopefully, I can refrain from eating too many. Oh, but they're sooo yummy.
  24. Tchhhh ... California gets reamed. It's so wrong.
  25. Ouch ! That's rough. Ooooh - $5. That's a lot.
