  1. Congratulations ! You should be proud of yourself ! I've gained 5 lbs ! Notice I haven't been hangin' round these parts lately !
  2. Oh, I'll be throwing it back at you all right. You just wait, Sugar ! Hubby & I had a big discussion at lunch. We'll be old pros by Monday.
  3. No offense intended. I'll assume you're talking to the other gals.
  4. I'm sorry for being such a loser. This really stinks ! I'm starting to think, by what you're saying, that maybe I should try the Lame Advertisement. I've heard the success rate is really good. I don't know what to do. I feel like a big cry-baby. I want to be positive and supportive. I want to be a good influence and not a downer. Sounds...
  5. Well, first off, I didn't start this thread, but it was perfect timing for me, so I jumped on. I would think (based on what I've seen here and there on the board) that there would be plenty of people who are battling this or at least contemplating the battle. Smokers are a strange breed. It's something you want and need desperately. The fact is that...
  6. I'm abandoning this thread. I'm not feelin' the love, and I feel as though I'm posting to myself & nobody gives a crap anyway. Good luck Momma Goose.
  7. I'm more the St. Bernard / Big dog type. They're just my style: Lazy and slovenly. Although, I really couldn't see myself mopping the floor with a Saint Bernard. Oh, and raising the leg ! NO ! That's a frightening thought. We'd really have to mop the floor with him after that ! I don't know why this is cracking me up so much. Thanks for...
  8. I think you should. We opted to have our honeymoon 4 months after the reception. How lazy are we?? Get this: we WON a week-long trip to Aspen, Colorado. We didn't have to plan that either !!! I highly recommend this too. EDIT: Actually, in the interest of accuracy, we had 2 honeymoons. Waikiki & Aspen - not that that matters, but I have this...
  9. I have told my husband time & time again that we need to get a dog. Maybe this will convince him !
  10. Sorry you're not feeling great. Glad the solo went well though. You can relax a little bit now. Me, I'm too lazy to even paint my nails. More power to ya Donna. So my house looks dusty and my nails are bare. Okay, this is funny because it was televised for the wedding (55 couples) and the 45 minute "Skyshow", in addition to the Padre's game...
  11. The freaky thing about this is that it doesn't even freak me out anymore. I'm laughing out loud. The scary part is that it's kind of par for the course.
  12. This has been rough - much worse than the last few days. I think I'll be fine. It got to the point where I had to fight minute by minute. Got through 10 minutes and the next 1/2 hour. Then, I made it through the afternoon. A couple of nicorettes ... a couple thousand calories ... I hope it gets easy again soon, because I feel so unsatisfied...
  13. Well, I was doing well (previous post). I still haven't smoked, but I take it back. I now have thought about having 1 cigarette. I almost lost it this morning (frickin' doctors). I guess this is when it's hard. I'm going to hang tough (I hope). Determination.
  14. Yaaaay ! I've heard really good stuff about Lame Advertisement. I know you'll do well if you stay determined to be a non-smoker. I'm only 4 days in, so I'm still quite vulnerable, but I feel pretty confident. It definitely takes determination above all else. I had to really want it. So far so good. Day 5 today. I'm still doing just fine...
  15. 4 days. This thread never developed into much, but it inspired me to pick a date, so I wanted to update. It's been 4 days that I haven't smoked. I don't get it. It's like someone reached inside me and took out the part that likes to smoke cigarettes. I'm really happy about this - but, mostly, I'm confused - where did this 18 year-long nightmare...
  16. Right ... this is kind of how I feel sometimes. I'm tired of trying to make everyone else happy. I'm not very successful in that endeavor anyhoo. It's my turn now. Should everyone be this selfish? No ... not if it's not right for you. I don't feel selfish. I just feel like I deserve respect too. This is what makes it so hard. Sometimes, you have...
  17. RE: prev. post. It wasn't advice, really ... just food for thought. I understand that it's particulary difficult because it's your MIL. Based on my previous experience, it's really difficult to make someone who doesn't understand "get it". For me, going into the whole cc thing just makes me feel like I'm perceived as paranoid and makes me feel helpless...
  18. It's you're day. I made a deal with my family members. I'll go to the gluten houses when it's their day, but if it's about me, NO WAY MAN. That's where I draw the line. Ultimately, if you want to be nice & not cause waves, then, you'll need to deal with it. I rarely cause waves with any of my family members, but this one is my golden rule. My...
  19. Hi, Yeah, I remember ... you used the patch. Screw the 10 pounds. 10 pounds for your life ! You can lose the weight, but you can't lose lung cancer. Right On Nikki !
  20. I'm all right ... I'm okay ... However, the chocolate supply in the world has seriously dwindled. I've fallen back on the Nicorette. Originally, I was going to cold turkey it, but in order to deal with the habit thing, I realized that I can't be struggling with the addiction at the same time. It really is helping quite a bit. I love this. I woke...
  21. Wow, that's insane, and inspirational. I'm still alright. It's going as par for the course. Rachel, hoping for the most wonderful outcome possible with your appointment - looking forward to hearing about it.
  22. Yes, yes ... Bay Area indeed. Wine - Booo! Tequila - Yaaay ! Campari - A bit like Harold of the Rocks ... 'Pretty Bizarre Gus'. RE: Quit Date: I'm alright ... I'm alright. I'll be fine. 2:44 - I haven't harmed anyone else or myself.
  23. Thanks Rachel ! Tom, Here's the weird thing about the Jerry Lyrics. The Sleeve (or whatever you call it) says cold beers too. However - and this is important: On the "Dirty Drowning Man" Lyrics, he clearly says: "I drink Campari with marinated Wild Hog". Since I'm listening to so much Primus, I heard this this morning. It's Campari. I'm...
  24. Hi Donna, To be honest, I went with the easiest, cheapest kind that I could find. That way, if I got the wrong stuff, it'd be no great loss (of $$). I got the Henry's brand. I didn't have time to go to Whole Foods that day. Here's what the bottle says: Green Chlorella - (Chlorella pyrenoidosa) ... 400mg Other ingredients: Capsule (vegetable source...
  25. I always thought it was Campari's ! I think they have it wrong. Campari & Soda - Cool and refreshing ! Had my first taste of this delectible bitter-sweet beauty in Italy. Forgot about those, but never forgot about Jerry - or John - or Harold ! When the going gets tough and the stomach acids flow ... hmmm - never thought I'd actually be sailing...
