  1. Hi I've been reading along, but if I were to reply to everything I wanted to, I'd be here all day, so please forgive me for my self-indulgence. CHLORELLA: I've been taking the Chlorella for a couple days without any problems so far. I didn't see any in liquid form that didn't have grasses in addition to the chlorella, so I just went with the capsules...
  2. This is how we look at it (my husband and I). We've joked that I'm just a superior human being and that my body has the tendency to kick stuff it doesn't like to the curb. I'm not necessarily Celiac. I don't know if I would test positive or not, but I would tend to agree with this theory. I have gotten to the point where I don't think of it as a disease...
  3. It's not that I'm not paying attention. It's just that I can't keep it all straight. I feel like I did when I first went gluten-free and learned about MSG. It's as if I've fallen deep into another rabbit hole. Things have become rather strange.
  4. Ah - Okay - Right on. Anyway, it was very bizarre.
  5. I've done this ! It wasn't using vials. He tested my medications. He told me I shouldn't be taking 3 of the 5 that I was on. He was right - 2 of them were the ACE Inhibitors I was talking about a couple days ago with Jin. He's "Applied Clinical Nutrition" / "Applied Reflexology Trophology" I have his card here - Oh My God ! What an idiot I am - This...
  6. A. Thanks for the encouragement. That's the hard part - putting my mind to it. B. I actually find 14 years to be pretty surprising. Were you 2 when you started? You look super young.
  7. Mornin' Rachel, I need to keep a journal of all the great references you've given regarding detoxing. If I could just keep up with it all, that would be great. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Thanks for all the comments RE: coffee (and tea too). I'm going to at least try to lower my intake so that I'm not...
  8. Though I don't know you Happy Birthday, sir. Finally, an opportunity to say thanks: Thanks for all you do !
  9. Wow - I can't believe you picked it up again after 23 years. That's pretty coooo. I messed around with wind instruments for a while, but went back to the horns. I actually switched to baratone for a while because of the braces. I don't play anymore - I kind of dropped out of life at 14. Not sure what happened. I loved my music. I even loved "music...
  10. Oh, Jin, I wish you were in a happier situation. She thinks Lyme and Celiac can't exist together? It's not forever Jin. Try to envision your future of peace and happiness. You'll get there. I just saw this, so I had to post again.
  11. I have a question for you guys. COFFEE. I'm addicted to coffee. I'll be switching to tea next week (green tea?) as part of my plan. Is the problem with coffee mostly about how harsh it is or is there something else? I'm just wondering because I can't see myself ever living without it. I'm trying to get it in my head before I do it if it'll be a...
  12. Hi everyone, Carla, I've been wanting to mention this since the whole "wax" discussion started. It took me a while to get used to the wax on the braces. I played Trumpet & French Horn while I had braces. It wasn't easy, but with the wax, I adjusted after a while. It's not the same, obviously as the flute or sax - my biggest problem was that...
  13. Okay wowzer, What's the dealio? You going to quit when you go on vacation? My quit date is August 2 - that's 1 week from today. I'll be using the gum. My hubby's using the patch. I'm totally committed. How 'bout you? I mean, I'm not trying to put any pressure on you - just wondering if you're still going to do this. If not, that's cool. Just curious...
  14. In regards to my last post: NUTS ! I forgot about the nuts. Nuts with fruit or vegetable at night (almonds?) will stave off the cravings. This may not be the best advice you'll get, but, it works for me when I do it.
  15. Hello Rachel, I have 2 suggestions for you. 1st, to kill those late evening issues, drink a glass of water & eat some fruit maybe 5 minutes after the water (depending on if fruit is good with you). Wait a bit and see if you really still want to blow it. 2nd, try to 86 the gluten. You have a diagnosis. You're young, I'll assume (college student...
  16. Jin, Yaaay on your Dad's good news. That's a great outcome ! Hi Claire, No, no. I'm soooo not going to have anything done right away. The 1st appointment is full exam, cleaning & x-rays. I'm planning on taking this really slow. There's no hurry here. They do the work in quadrants and, besides that, I'm sure I have some immediate dental needs...
  17. How exciting about Chloe working toward a "cure". Yay ! And, remission is worth working toward. I would be ecstatic if I were "in remission". I've been watching the struggles you all have been going through, and it's reassuring to hear you say that the fight is worth it. Apparently, I can't stop talking today. Plus, I'm only half way to being...
  18. I've been making a really spotty attempt at taking probiotics (pretty much when I remember - which isn't much). I'll get back on those. I take something called Florify (by Lame Advertisement) - 5 billion ... Lactobacillus acidophilus, bifidobacterium lactis. I know it would be beneficial, but I'm just lazy about taking them. Okay, I'm feeling a little...
  19. Oh, I'm sad, sad, sad. I've opened the proverbial can of worms on myself. I guess it's time to open the other can - The can of Whoop-@$$. It's about time anyway. I've been ignoring the realities of my life for some time. Tchhhhhh
  20. My tongue always has a white coating (except for when I did the elimination diet and was eating only veggies, brown rice, and chicken - and a little fruit). Now I have to think about candida? What the heck? I'm starting to feel like I do belong in Rachelville. I guess I'll have to start looking into a candida diet now ! Too much for my little tiny brain...
  21. Donna, Bummer about the jury duty. Doesn't sound like very good timing - but, then, it never is. Rachel, Sorry you're having these issues with your work and your boss. Sounds like it may not be having a great affect on you. She sounds very sucubus-like. Jin, Nice Picture ------------------------------------------------- Well, I've made...
  22. Jin, I've changed my avatar temporarily so you can get a little fix. The pic's a little fuzzy, but, I can tell you that it was quite a show. As far as where we'll reign as queens, the Insta-Spa will have to do as my throne for now, but there's room for 2. ------------------------- I've contacted a holistic dentist group down here, but they haven't...
  23. From what I understand, correct me if I'm wrong, but... The process to make broth from chicken will result, most often, in a Free Glutamic Acid. While the ingredients may not list MSG, processing will create (EDIT:) the same sort of effect. Free glutamic acid is not technically "Monosodium Glutamate", but it has similar properties. If you have issues...
  24. donna, The lbs are probably from water weight. It's almost impossible to actually gain 2 lbs of fat in such a short time. When I went gluten-free, I lost 8 lbs in a week - presumably water retention that I had been holding, because, as impossible as it is to gain 2 lbs of fat in 2 days, it's even more rediculous to think that I had actually lost 8 lbs...
