  7. Body Fortress makes a whey protein powder. I talked to Teresa for Body fortress . You can get it at Walmart for 13.00 2lbs. It has 23g protein 1.5g fat. Contains soy. Made in facilty that handles wheat. Their customer service stinks, so if you have any additional questions it takes awhile for an answer.

After trying so many combinations of foods,I went gluten...

  15. Amy, Thanks.... so do you think we are the only ones that make their own flour? I was concerned with all the money I was spending on Gluten free food. I've never read anything about making flour on this site (let me know if I missed something!) We are a family of five, and money has never been an issue, but I have felt quilty spending 6.00 on some muffins...
  16. Thank you for the info on the mill. Is blendtec the same as ktec? I did look at that ktec mill it was my top choice, but it is such a big purchase you hate to make it without talking to someone who has it first. It's like buying a stroller at first yours seems great and then you see all the other functions that another one can do. I made a couple of pounds...
  17. Does anyone make their own flour? I need a suggestion on a mill or grinder to buy. I would like to invest in a nice one, but there are so many choices. I didn't see any info on mills or making flour, but I'm new . I might have missed it.
  18. I have been getting allergy shots for over a year. I'm allergic to dust mites, cats, and dogs. They have been very helpful. My allergist said, avoidance is the only thing you can do for food allergies.
  19. I read that some companies use flour to keep dates from sitcking. Also, dates and raisins can carry molds and yeast, so maybe one of those are the culprits.
  20. I read in Bette Hagman....spelling not sure.... gluten free recipe book that sweet rice is good for brownies, cookies. Brown rice can be a sub for white, but sweet rice can't. It is used for more of a sticky treat.
  21. I use 1 1/2 cups great northern bean flour for protien, 1 cup cornstarch, 1 cup brown rice flower, 1 cup sweet rice 1 cup tapioca , and keep it on hand. I used my coffee mill to turn the beans and rice into flour, and saved a fortune. We only have a few stores that carry this rice and its very expensive. Does anyone make their own flour? I would love to...
  22. I have been making my own rice flour in my coffee mill. I was suprised how easy it is. However, recently I put in Great Northern beans for a little protein, and blew the engine after 4 cups. I'm going to buy a grain mill. Most cost between 200-400. Does anyone have any suggestions for which brand works better? Lower than 200 would be fine too! Thanks, Chris
