  1. When are you going? I will be there in early August for a conference in the french quarter with my son whom has the same intollerences as your family and so do I. I am very nervious about being there and I haven't come across too many places we will safely be able to eat at. There is 1 pizza place I am eager to try because they are organic and have gluten...

  5. Let me know if anyone wants the forms, they sent it to me via email very quickly within 24 hrs of my requesting them and I would be happy to fwd them onto someone else or copy and paste them here at least the refference sheets.
  6. thank you so much I came on today specifically looking for Disney world stuff and already have gotten some great tips. I found this during my online search..... Open Original Shared Link It seems like it would be helpful...especially to my family with multiple food allergies.
  7. Basically we have 2 more surgeries. The next one in about 2-3 months will be a pullthrough. This means they will reconnect the healthy colon to the rectum, then let it rest. The finaly surgery about 2-3 months later is the closure of the colostomy. And then things should work pretty close to normal for bms. For those curious what Hirschsprungs is here...
  8. Things have progressively went downhill for my little 4.5 yr son the past few months. A few days after xmas we did an endoscopy, rectal suction biopsy, etc....everything was looking good and they didn't see anything wrong. Well after that he rapidlly went downhill. Not eatting, sleeping, no poop, vomitting,ab destention. Finally 1/14 we did a barium enema...
  9. I am just curious if there is a link between Hirschsprungs and gluten intollerence or celiac? my 4 yr was just dx with Hirschsprungs. But a year ago he tested inconclusive for celiac on a blood test. At that time we did not do the biopsy to confirm (I wish we had). We decided to remove gluten. He started to improved and then we removed casein and later...
  10. No complaining of pain but then again he has a high tollerence to his tummy pain. And yes there is some bloating as usual.
  11. Ok my 4 yr old had his colonoscopy on Thursday and eventhough he did a clean out and was full of poop. GI cleared his colon and now he still hasn't had a bowel movement two days later and he is also on Miralax too. Is this normal?

  14. Those of you who have done this for a clean out have you ever used Magnesium citrate powder instead of the nasty liquid? Since my 4 yr old son needs to be cleaned out for his procedures next week I wanted to try this instead. I found some at Vitamin Shoppe and called the company and it seems like it should work. I bought this brand....Natural Vitality...

  16. You can't take your son to his pediatrictian? Then ask the pedi to order the tests? I mean you are concerned about his health that would be a good enough reason IMO to see his doctor. You don't need to see a specialist to have a celiac panel blood test done. I tested with enterolab but only because my sons tests were inconclusive and we were not getting...
  17. if she can have dairy try adding in a higher calorie gluten-free butter to everything she eats. Also whole milk and whole milk yogurt or heavy whipping cream.
  18. My son also had high IgG results too and infact that was the only thing that came back positive on his celiac pannel. His GI doc called it inconclusive for celiac and our allergist told us no it was positive for celiac. So I can share your confusion, I had my son's run again the the IgG was + again with almost the same # about 6 weeks later. All of this was...
  19. thanks that link was very informative I do wonder about corn so I think I may give the doctor another call.
  20. Ok I went to an allergist for my son all blood work and skin pricks were all negative for allergies. The celiac pannel was inconclusive...at that time the allergist recommended patch testing. I never went back to have it done. He tested + for gluten, casein and soy with enterolab. Should we go back and do patch testing? What help will it have for us...
  21. I think the creaming is why it works with the other one I had it doesn't crema it so to speak.
  22. I eventally got the spectrum to work but in a different recipe which called for the shortening to be mixed with egg and sugar instead of being cut in flour... Here is the recipe that DID NOT work: Gluten-free Casein-free Sugar Cookies 1 1/2 cups white rice flour 1/2 cup margarine (I used Earth Balance stick) 1/2 tsp cream of tartar 1/2 cup sugar...
  23. Is it something easily found in my local supermarket?
  24. I can say the thought has crossed my mind. I will look it up online and consider it. I remember someone once told me to put a piece of tape in the diaper at night and the worms will get stuck to it. I might try that.
  25. ok I am going nuts over here....I need some expreience bakers to help me . So I am trying to avoid using butter, margerine and vegan butter like earth balance...all because of the soybean oil. Well let me tell you the roll out doughs for cookies are just not working unless I use the vegan butter. I've tried coconut oil, other oils & now the spectrum...
