  1. I used to always wake up dizzy and had to be careful standing up from a sitting position so I would not faint. My dear bf has had the same problem, especially getting up out of bed. Sometimes even having had to crawl on the floor! My bp has always been low, and years ago I was diagnosed as having a condition where my bp would fall 30 points when I would...
  2. Thank you for your honest and humble opinion, and experience, IMHO, IMHO--LOL!
  3. Caroline, Here is a back and forth discussion of the subject of depressed cerebral blood flow and migraine in a medical journal here in the States: Open Original Shared Link I think the old view was that it was always seen as too much blood in the brain. But now its seen as more complicated than that, beginning with reduced blood flow. My boyfriend...
  4. Not to doubt your sources, however there is what is called gluten induced migraine that strange as it may seem relates to restricted blood flow. I certainly have had more than my share of that as has my partner and it seems likely Caroline has too. Below is a something you might find interesting written on both this subject as well as restricted cerebral...
  5. Hi Caroline, I am glad to hear you have decided to take more epsom salt baths. They are really nice especially if you put a candle on and some relaxing music. You might want to consider making home made sauerkraut inoculated initially with your Bio-kult along with the sea salt. Its easy to make, very tasty and may well give you an extra boost of energy...

Congratulations Annette on finally finding out what has been happening! Disc problems can be very painful, limiting and annoying. Here's to you moving forward and feeling a lot better and stronger soon! I can well understand your frustration with your previous doctor. Obviously he was not trained concerning back problems but was oblivious concerning...

Its true, the thing is with bearberry is that one should only use it for 2 weeks max. Using it longer can cause major problems in a few people like nausea for one and even collapse, like what happened to you. Otherwise if used properly it is considered pretty safe. And very effective if it is used wisely, i.e., without taking acidic substances like cranberry...
  8. Thank you both, Raven and Caroline!
  9. Thank you Caroline! How did you go about finding these articles by the way? I have been having trouble on my end here. It was my dear bf that showed me the original U-tube book review a year or so ago. I agree with Irish Heart however that it would have been better if I had said I had a recollection of such rather than stating it as possible fact....
  10. Hi Caroline, I am glad you only react to just two things, gluten and coconut. Though I would still keep an eye out if you know what I mean. One's bodily reactions can change over time, especially as you clear more of the old stuff out. I am betting your acupuncturist might agree. I agree that one can go through valuable periods of time experiencing...
  11. Hi Caroline, I am glad you only react to just two things, gluten and coconut. Though I would still keep an eye out if you know what I mean. One's bodily reactions can change over time, especially as you clear more of the old stuff out. I am betting your acupuncturist might agree. I still take a holistic approach, though never a blind approach to anything...
  12. Takala, you are so right about that above otherwise fantastic paper not applying to my point. It does not. No mention of the arteries, though vascular damage was mentioned in passing several times from build up of various gluten induced materials as well as damaged mitochondria. However it is relevant to the subject of how gluten can mess with one's mind...
  13. OK--here's what I have so far. It may be "It" I don't know. I still wonder about the article/book referred to on U-tubethat I saw a year or so ago. Nevertheless, it looks pretty solid in its way. Obviously more research needs to be done, should have been done, and now hopefully at last will be done connecting severe gluten sensitivity and neurological disorders...
  14. I would like to re-find it too--and am looking for it Irish Heart. Here is what I have so far, a reference to a study mentioned by Vicki Peterson in the articles section of celiac.com that shows a vastly reduced blood flow to the brain due to gluten intolerance. The amount of reduction here however was not mentioned--just that it affected a very high percentage...
  15. Am looking for it. It was on U-Tube--information from a new book (last year). I will post it when I re-find it. The suggestion was that for those who suffer from depression, going off gluten is a very good idea due to this supposed common reaction of the carotids upon exposure to gluten for those who have severe gluten intolerance but might not otherwise...
  16. t Thank you for your reply Lucia. Not everyone is capable of seeing outside thier own reality, so I want o compliment you on your ability to do so while defending what I said. You are very kind and I appreciate it. I suppose what I need to do in the future is to always couch what I have to say about my experiences in very careful language so I won't frighten...
  17. Hang in there Caroline! For some of us it just takes longer. Plus it may take more sleuthing on your part to figure out what all is going on. I agree with the other posters, and you know me, the ex herbalist due to pretty severe salicylate sensitivity. Though I do use them now and then when I really need them--like right now I am using uva ursi, marshmallow...

Hi Annette, I am glad you are being cautious about going off the oxylates and thus doing it s l o w l y. I am encouraging my friend Graeme to do the same since his problems seem like they well could be due to oxalates. Its a bummer how antibiotics can destroy one's ability to process oxalates safely. I wonder if taking SOD's would help?? I don...

I agree with Skylark. Unless you know your doctor is going to run blood tests measuring your vitamin levels this week, I'd go back onto the B vitamins that helped you out. B's don't tend to stay in the body longer than two days, if that, as I recollect. Its one reason so many here who have celiac or severe gluten intolerance need B vitamins since they are...
  20. Instead of lipgloss I just use plain old vaseline. I react to chapstick as does my boyfriend. There are some cosmetic lines that are completely gluten free, and several that are partially gluten free. I suggest you use the Search engine. For myself I have to be particularly careful since I am also salicylate sensitive, so most dyes are out. So more...
  21. Only in that she started by saying the Glutino products are produced in a completely safe non gluten environment. They clearly are not safe for everyone due to the type of flour they use. Nevertheless I agree, it is not relevant to the iodine issue per se.
  22. That may be--but both my boyfriend and I got headaches from eating their cookies. I think the special de-glutenized flour they use is safe for many, but not all.
  23. This is why I make my own lactose free yogurt, by fermenting it for 24 hours. I had way too many antibiotics that ended up messing with my flora even though I have taken oodles of probiotics. Other folks find using Goats Milk makes a big difference. Others yet find making their own coconut milk yogurt or kefir works well for them. I am also now making...
  24. I agree--it totally sucks. My family continues to be insensitive. At least yours did apologize. Yes and yes, always invite them (with the stipulation they wash first and put on clean clothes if they want to help in the kitchen--and everyone washes their hands thoroughly before eating--keep your towel separate by the way) or bring your own that you intrepidly...
  25. Kareng is right. Quinoa actually is full of oxylates and isn't a true grain. Others may still agree with you. Try them out one at a time to see. If not, it might be a CC issue. If so, washing and drying and then grinding your grains can be an answer. For a few others, they do best on a no or low grain diet.
