    We have used products processed in facilities that process wheat for three years with only one adverse reaction. My daughter just last week reacted to ONE chip that is gluten free but processed in a non-gluten free facility. She had a full blown reaction for two days from just one chip.     It took my now 17 year old daughter almost 2 years to heal completely-- and I'm still not sure she's there. I wonder if the Culterelle could be causing it. Some probiotics can give you lots of gas and belching-- a good sign that it's not the type of bacteria you need. we did not do well on Culterelle either. Try another type and see if that helps.

    Our lives were revolutionized by discovering Bob's REd Mill Hearty Whole grain gluten-free bread mix. It works in a standard, cheap bread machine, and is better than any bread I've eaten, gluten free or not. My whole family loves it! And the whole grain is from seeds and other grains that are tolerated and good for you.

    i agree with the other posts. My daughter wasn't diagnosed until she got really sick as a 15 year old. But when she went gluten free, other symptoms we had just thought were "Joanna" started to abate. Now we realize that she really did have the other symptoms, we just didn't know it--

    I would agree with Laura-- give it several more weeks. It took six weeks for the pain my daughter had with wheat to go away. This may sound silly, but also eliminate bananas.     Anything is possible, and it seems likely that the food is the culprit. I know a gentleman who falls asleep as sson as he has gluten. Others have neurological reactions, so a fever seems reasonable. I would think that her positive reaction to the gluten free diet is a great sign. Keep up the diet and see if she doesn't continue to improve~

    I wouldn't expect the doctor to give much credence to ancedotal evidence-- none of ours have-- but it is clear that the diet solved all of my daughter's terrible pain, etc. I would stick with the diet without question. I hope your new doctor is open to your interpretation of your daughter's improvement, but even if not, don't be discouraged. many of us...

    my daughter has reflux and is gluten intolerant. her reflux is better off gluten. I'd say all the symptoms you mentioned could be gluten related.

    I think I would ask her if she would willingly feed them a little bit of arsenic everyday. Eating gluten if you are intolerant or have celiac is similar to eating a bit of poison daily.     My daughter was unable to take any of the reflux medicines because after 10-11 days on each one, she developed hives. After the third one, prevacid, I think, her throat started to close.
