    It took six weeks for my daughter's symptoms to go away almost completely when we started the gluten free diet. And we were very strict about the diet. Be patient. It can take up to 2 years to fully recover our doctor told us.

    I'd definitely keep him off gluten and try removing some other foods like dairy if you haven't already. It took 6 weeks for my daughter's stomach pain to finally subside and almost two years later she still has problems with digestion, but she is much better.     Your story sounds eerily familiar. Try a different allergist, one who tests with small amounts of the allergen one at a time with a needle injection.     I would ask them if they would push a child with a peanut allergy to eat peanuts. Usually people can understand the severity of that.     It took my daughter 6 weeks for the pain to go away, and that was being incredibly strict. she also had severe gastritis and acid reflux, so I'm guessing that they take a long time to heal.     Chik-Fil-A has an extensive gluten free menu. You can get most of the fast food gluten free menus on line so you can be prepared ahead of time. outback and other restaurants have them also and many of their wait staff are very knowledgable about celiac disease. Good luck!
