  1. Hathor I have tried the buffalo yogurt and Mozzerella. I had a little difficulty with them. I also have a cholesterol problem and in some of the yogurt there are 6 grams of saturated fat because they use the whole milk. I may try it again. I did like the Mozzerella. I have tried goat yogurt and that seems to be ok. I cannot touch dairy at...
  2. Cody, I agree with Tom go dairy free. I have been since 2005. I am very sensitive to it. It sends me to the pot too many times in a day. You also have to watch for the fake cheeses as these contain some milk ingredients. Susan
  3. I don't know if this will help but I showed a sensitivity to yeast in a blood test. The result I am gluten and yeast free. There is only one type of bread I can buy and it is from Ener-g. It is their yeast free brown or white rice bread. I agree with elimanating sugar. Susan

    ARCHIVED Follow-up Blood Work

Moondanse My Dr. just ran a panel from Prometheus lab. I got a letter if insurance does't cover I'm responsible for the $799.00 tab for the test. Mine came out negative as I have been gluten free for 1 year. I did not have the genetic markers either. My PCP ran all of the tests I requested with pleasure because I am advocating for myself. Yes the...
  5. I had the 96 food sensitivity done at Alletess Medical Laboratory. It was only $99.00 for this testing. They supply the kit and directions. You can find information at Open Original Shared Link Susan
  6. Rebecca. I was tested for 96 different food sinsitivities. I tested sensitive to 21 of them. I used Altess Medical Laboratory out of Rockland, Ma. Their website is Open Original Shared Link Your doctor can draw the blood and send it to them. They will send you the kit and instructions. Susan
  7. Mee I have found a good substitute if one is sensitive to chicken eggs. I eat duck eggs with no problems. That might be something to check into. They work just fine in baking. They are also richer tasting. I pay $6.00 per dozen. Susan
  8. Dianne, I have found if I eat eggs I have problems. If they are in something bread, cake etc I tolerate them better. I'll say I have less problems if they are baked in something. When I did some baking for myself I used the duck eggs and had no problems. Susan
  9. Donna, You might need to go to both an internest and a gastro. I just recently saw my internest and he noted all of my GI problems and sent me to a GI doctor. I have that appointment on Friday. I am lucky to have an interenst who listens. I went in with a list of tests to be done (gotten from this site) and he is running them all. To help with...
  10. Dianne, I also have an egg sensitivity. To be specific egg white. If I eat an egg I can tell I ate it. When I had my blood test done they sent the results back in a book with suggested alternatives. It says I can eat egg yolks or duck eggs. I can eat duck eggs fine. I had a hard time finding them and they cost $6.00 per dozen. Hope that helps ...
  11. Isiskingdom, I buy Earth Balance in the grocery store. It is also availble in a natural grocery such as Whole Foods etc. It should do fine in cooking. I still use oils to do that. Susan
  12. I am also sensitive to eggs. It was recommended that I try duck eggs. I can eat them. They taste just like chicken eggs only stronger. I found them for $6.00 a dozen. I also am dairy free. I have found I tolerate Goat and Buffolo yogurt and cheese just fine. The whole milk is used with both of these. The buffalo yogurt is very high fat content...
  13. I have been dairy free since October 05. Like suggested I eat Earth Balance. I have just tried goat and buffalo yogurt and I tolerate these very well. I just got a goat cheese that is similar to cream cheese that tastes good. The buffalo yogurt is very high in fat. The whole milk is used for both goat and buffalo. Hope that helps. Susan
  14. In todays Atlanta Journal-Constitution in the Better Health section is a question about Celiac disease. I don't totally agree with the answer to the question, but it is pretty good. Here is a short quote "If celiac disease is confirmed, strict adherence to a very difficult gluten-free diet will heal up a damaged bowel lining." This is on page K7. Susan
  15. I have multiple food sensitivities and the last time I ate at a Thai resturant I ordered my meal plain and I still got a case of d. Susan
  16. I am done with Amy's. I learned my lesson. On Tuesday I ate one dinner. All seemed fine. On Friday I got so dizzy at work my husband had to come and pick me up. I sure don't want to go through that again. I've heard others say they have trouble with Amy's. My symptoms last about 6 hours. I feel better after a good nights sleep. Thanks for letting...
  17. Donna, I sound like you with a broken bone. I broke my toe in November. It was swollen and hurt for 8 weeks. It has started feeling better, but it still bothers me. I can't have the seam of a sock on it so I wear my sox at an angle to keep the pressure off the toe. It is healing slowly. I have't had any recommendations for vitamins at all. Susan
  18. Welcome Lins, Yes it is a bit overwhelming in the beginning. Just take a deep breath and relax. Some here have lost weight and some have gained. Did you know you can still eat cereal. The main items you need to avoid are wheat, rye, barly, malt and regular oats. Rice Krispies contain malt. You can also buy gluten free pizza crusts and pizza so you...
  19. I just had to ad my reply here. I am a musician that plays the flute and piccolo thus the name. Susan
  20. Dear Jokamo, I usually say 1 serving or 1 cup it just makes it easier. If they don't have the specific food you eat choose one that is close to the discription as possible. You canalways write the correct food after you print it out. An example is I say I have 2 slices of toast for breakfast etc. Hope this helps. Susan
  21. Richard, You could use www.mypyrmidtracker.gov. Once you register you can just record what you eat and print it out. It also can keep track of the calories and nutrients you eat. I am registered there an like it. Susan
  22. Dear Proud mom of 2 Welcome to the board. You will find a wealth of information here. I know it is overwhelming at first. It is best to start out simple just use fresh chicken, vegetables, rice etc. It is easier to cook the same for the whole family rather than differnt meals. Hope this helps and welcome. Susan
  23. Denise, You can call Dr. Cynthia Rudert 5555 Peachtree-Dunwoody Rd. NE Atlanta (404) 943-9820 Susan
  24. Little d I broke my toe in November and I know it is still healing. So join the club of broken bones. Good luck with the broken foot. I hope it is not too painful. Susan
