  1. Aww...and I was getting excited that Sainsbury's have started writing 'suitable for coeliacs' on their organic food! So does this mean I should be more sceptical?!
  2. Smarties in the UK have wheat in them. This made me sad as I *love* smarties. ...today I discovered Whizzers! Virtually the same as Smarties and gluten (and dairy) free!! Hurrah!
  3. Hi, I don't know how helpful this will be... I'd been getting terrible headaches also, and my concentration dipped randomly throughout the day (this was only really happening in the first few weeks of cutting out the gluten). I realised that one thing that helped it was simple - drinking tonnes of water. I drink so much water I'm constantly going to the...
  4. Hi everyone . Yep - I've been having the same problem. I've only been gluten free for three months now (I feel *great*!) so my window of reference is a little narrow. I remember in the months before I cut out the gluten, when my symptoms started to show (for me, they appeared after a bad viral infection), I felt constantly full up. All I could...
  5. Absolutely . I'm also very glad to have found this thread. I find symptoms (GI mostly, some dizziness after being glutened) are worse a week or so before my cycle. Add PMS to that and I feel sorry for anyone who has to be near me!
  6. Absolutely! The hours you spend scouring your memory trying to figure out where you were glutened!
  7. London I'm pretty lucky as there are so many places around so I have a good choice of supermarkets/restaurants, though this doesn't stop the restaurants from inadvertantly glutening me !!
  8. Hi everyone - I've been posting properly for a couple of days but must confess to being a bit of a former-lurker! My main reason for joining in on the discussions was because I had a bad day, a very bad day. I'd been to a tapas restaurant, tried to discreetly ask about the menu away from my friends, and the waitresses treated me like I was on some...
  9. Thanks everyone - I guess it's probably just one of those unexplained things! The rash is still there, though antihistamine cream helped . (I'm quite new at this....!)
  10. I was wondering if this was a symptom, or just some silly reaction I'm having to something. Last night I noticed an itchy rash on both of my cheeks - this morning it is worse...! It's rather red, and I'm trying not to scratch it as I don't want to irritate a rash somewhere as obvious as my face. I can't think what has caused this...! My skincare routine...
  11. I'm constantly paranoid that people are going to try to trick me! If I don't get sick immediately (mine tends to be a few hours/the day after), I feel like people are going to call me a faker!
  12. My whole life I've bruised ridiculously easily. my friends at university used to make a joke - if they prodded me in the arm, would I get a big bruise etc!
  13. This is so true Annie76! I've lost a stone and a half after becoming gluten freen since February. All of my friends at work are constantly commenting on me looking thinner, and how they wish they could have my 'will power'!!! I try to explain to them that willpower doesn't even come in to it...!
  14. Three words: I. Feel. Better.
  15. Hi, I'm new I've been gluten-free since the beginning of February this year and it's been so difficult. This morning I was feeling particularly depresssed just due to people in restaurants not understanding why I can't eat certain things.... Then I came across this thread! It cheered me up no end . Thank you so much to everyone! I'm the...
  16. Hi everyone, First-timer here - I was hoping I could find some people with the same problems as me who can offer som advice (or just tell me that they're feeling the same!) My doctor has diagnosed me with a wheat intolerance following an exclusion diet. Standard blood test (not checking for coeliac) results also showed I have low urea - does anyone...
