  1. I am not from Nova Scotia, but I am from the maritimes and have been to Nova Scotia a few months ago. My tip is to try and find a big Sobey's or Atlantic Superstore. The bigger it is, the more gluten-free stuff they will have I would also suggest going to both stores, since Sobey's has stuff that the Superstore doesn't and vice versa and the Superstore...
  2. If no one else in your family has celiac other than your cousins, then it will be very hard to know which side of the family the gene is on. I would recommend getting the celiac blood panel and a celiac gene test (to see if you have the gene for celiac).
  3. The amount of gluten you would have consumed probably didn't damage your intestines too much. Although I'm not a doctor. You will probably start feeling better soon. My last gluten reaction lasted about 2 weeks. I think a lot of people take about 2 weeks to feel better after having gluten. I hope you feel better soon.
  4. I would guess that you may have a food allergy or intolerance. If I were you I would ask for the full celiac panel, a wheat allergy test, casein and lactose intolerance test, and maybe allergy testing (like skin prick tests) to see if you are allergic to other foods like, soy, eggs, and nuts.
  5. I don't forget anymore, actually. That was a long time ago The banks around here are now using non-lick envelopes. Very nice! WOW! Kaiti, I didn't now that. Gross
  6. Thanks for the info!
  7. I forgot what company it was, but I remember reading that they put gluten in a few of their colorings. You just have to be careful. If the info is fairly recent then I don't think there would be any problem eating those Enjoy.
  8. It's easy to make mistakes, I have to edit my posts a lot because I make horrible mistakes all the time. That is pretty funny though
  9. It's so easy to forget. Once I was at the bank and licked my envelope to deposit some money. Then I realized what I did... and I went outside and started spitting on the ground. Very lady like The people at the bank must have thought I was crazy I didn't get sick from it anyway... Luckily.
  10. That is funny
  11. Everyone of all ages are welcome here.
  12. Stef, I wouldn't eat that kind... it looks like it may have gluten Which products are wheat/gluten free? ANSWER: Most of Thai Kitchen products are wheat/gluten free. The exceptions are Hot and Sour Rice Noodle Soup Bowl, Peanut Sauce Mix, Peanut Bake, Savory Garlic Stir-fry Rice Noodles (5.3oz), and the Lemongrass and Chili Rice Noodle Soup (5.3oz box...
  13. Good to know! Were they in a natural/health food section or with the regular stuff?
  14. Yea the sodium count kind of bothers me for some of their products... but they are just so convenient and good! Some of them actually aren't that bad for sodium though, but there are a few that are quite high!
  15. Like everyone else said, "Wheat Free, Worry Free' by Danna Korn" is an excellent book!
  16. Ok thanks Kaiti Hopefully Canada will do the same...
  17. Some people have many symptoms and others have none at all. Your symtoms could be celiac. I also get the upper abdominal pain. I think it would be worth your time to go and get the celiac blood test panel (the ones that Kaiti mentioned), if that's is what you want of course Although you may get a false negative result if you are gluten free for too long...
  18. Are these laws going to be in the US only?
  19. yay! it worked
  20. Envirokidz are great. I have their frosted flakes now and I really like the Panda Puffs.
  21. No problem For my Bean Flour Tortilla recipe, you can add in an egg substitute instead of eggs. Although I'm not quite sure what an egg substitute is Maybe you guys do!
  22. Why can't they just be consistent with their labeling
  23. Try changing the size (file size and width/height size) a few times. That worked for me a few times.
