  1. GAH!!! Ya got me! Janet, I will gladly hand over those duties to you!
  2. LOL- Because they're retarded. Nope, never had the opportunity... are they very different from chicken eggs? Sadly, mine have also passed away... Maybe we need to build a Silly Commune that is half resort, half mad house! We'll all meet up every so often and scare the neighbors!!! at the Chicken Butt...
  3. Thanks! I will check for that brand too. *sigh* on the expense-- nothing you really need is cheap! Kassandra- maybe your brother could take you? How strict is the fast? If you're allowed to do clear liquids, I'm pretty sure Jell-o is allowable... I don't know if you're able to eat that.
  4. Kassandra, thanks! I'll start looking for it tomorrow. Jin, I like to bake late at night because there's no kids (including the 6 ft tall one!) under my feet! When I was little, I on was asthma medication, but it was pills that Mom had to crush up and put in applesauce. I don't recall using an inhaler. Yup, Susie Q's usually around in the Silly...
  5. Laura, thanks for the link! Some aspects of the article were scary, you're right... I have a feeling that mortality rate will normalize in the future, though. I think that the evolution of the way we view these types of diseases will cause that. It is good to read a doctor's verification of what we've all been thinking!! Lynn, Wow, so much of...
  6. I sincerely appreciate you sharing about your son! But don't be so quick to assume that I put non-necessities before the health of my child. Have you ever had to choose between groceries and medicine? I am currently 2 months behind in rent because my son has had to see the doctor every other week for the past 4 months. "Finding the money" to get him tested...
  7. I'm jumping in a little late on this thread, but.... Everything turned out really good except the gravy. I've NEVER been able to make gravy at all, so the fact that it actually turned out edible made me happy, but it was definitely weird. I thickened with cornstarch, but it just didn't want to thicken, so I added more... and more... and more......
  8. Ok, so I am not really a girly girl, or anything but....... Baby goats turn me to MUSH! They have to be the cutest creatures on the planet!!! OMG, Janet we sooo think alike! That is almost exactly what I said to him!
  9. That'd would be great if you could let me know the brand name... Just make anote of it next time you go downstairs, don't make a special trip! Gawd yes, how could I forget??? That moron...
  10. Hmm, it's a possibility! She's familiar with Enterolab from my research and her own. I'll have to go back on the website and check out the costs. That really is sooooo unfair... intolerant to our favorite foods??? *sigh* Stress will totally make me nauseated in a heartbeat. What movie did you see? I am sooo glad to hear that things between...
  11. Gotcha. And DON'T worry about too much info, I totally appreciate it, and am taking notes! I knew there was someone here who did egg-white protein powder, but couldn't remember who. What do you put it in? Smoothies? What led you to checking your ferritin levels? I've never heard of this! I'll check it out. For awhile, we thought...
  12. Something silly: My best friend's parents live about 2 minutes from me, and they have chickens (and goats, donkeys, horses, etc.) I get eggs from them every once in awhile... We are major egg eaters. They have a big group of young ones that are getting ready to start laying, and they'll be selling the eggs. I was so excited, and I told hubby tonight...
  13. I don't think she's been taking a probiotc at all. Every time I've asked her, she kind of hems and haws.... I knew caprylic acid is supposed to be excellent, but I didn't know about the other two!
  14. Perfect, thank you!!
  15. Any and all help is much appreciated! If it's just a cholesterol thing, that's not too worrisome.... her cholesterol has always been good. Yeah, the fact that they want to do a gene test kind of tells me that they're at the end of their ideas.
  16. Susie .... (((hugs!))) You need a mojito and some brownies. I wish we lived closer!
  17. NO, you're not a horrible person! Most people would feel the same way, it's just that you admitted it! If it does come out negative, is there any chance that he might do the diet just on a trial basis to see what happens? I know a lot of people won't do that if they feel like they don't have to. I've never understood that. After all, one little...
  18. Thank you everyone, for such quick responses! My mom and I are extremely close. I think she takes my advice as seriously as I take hers. She is up for trying supplements, but is very reluctant to completely cut out dairy and soy. She loves milk and cheese, and her soy protein shakes. Kristina, What was the name of the rx probiotic you took?...
  19. Ok guys, I'm desperate for some help here. My mom was dx'ed with Celiac over a year ago, but has never really gotten to where she's feeling good. Lately it's been really BAD. Brain fog, edema, and nausea are almost constant. Usually worst in the mornings. She gets glutened every once in awhile, but NOT often. She's had her antibody levels tested, and they...
  20. Liz, Could you give me an idea of proportions? I usually am good about improvising, but this is exactly the type of thing that makes me nervous-- I don't want the cereal to get soggy! Could you post or pm your recipe? I'd soooo appreciate it!
  21. I've only had pecan pie once in my life, but it was really good. I just love pumpkin everything. I used to live near a little ice cream shop that had pumpkin custard ice cream... I would have them make me a milkshake out of it, and it was sooooooo good!
  22. Also, have you tried using your bare hands to mix the dough, as opposed to a mixer or spoon? I have had to do this with pie crust to get it to form a ball.
  23. Kassandra, Whenever my kiddoes are on meds, I always make a spread sheet to keep track of everything! Makes it nice and easy. Ugh, I'm so sorry about your back! You probably already know this, but just in case: When you laying on your back, keep pillows under your knees. When you're laying on your side, keep a pillow between your knees. A rolled-up...
  24. Kassandra, I hate to hear that you and your mom are fighting. I know she must be worried sick about you. What does she think about the fact that you've gotten worse on the abx that were supposed to help you? How is your back doing with all the bed-time? I know that when I am sick and spend a lot of time in bed, it KILLS my back. (((Hugs!...
  25. Nope, that's not quick enough, it has to be immediate! ........ wait a second. ..... gated communities.... SUSIIIIIEEEE! Guess what! Speaking of healthy diets.... One of Ezra's teachers asked me today if a gluten-free diet is "really healthy." And I said, Oh yes, it's perfectly healthy, blah blah blah, and started to go into a detailed...
