  1. BTW... If I had to have regular shots, I think I'd rather do them myself as well. I trust my Mom with almost ANYTHING, but..... her hands shake when she does delicate things. And my hubby faints at the sight of needles.
  2. I'll chime in on this one. I can't tell you how many times I've looked something up, and found a message board clogged with spam. Spammers don't stand a chance around here. Thanks mods!
  3. Jin, Whew, had to run and pick the boys up from their schools. Lipase is indirectly related to the gallbladder in that-- if the gallbladder isn't secreting enough bile, fats remain in such large particles that the lipase has a hard time combining with them. I am no expert!!! The liver produces bile, and it's stored in the gallbladder... if your gallbladder...
  4. A non-issue? Good grief. You know, I'm pretty sure that low lipase can cause "spastic colon." (Along with CFS, food intolerances, and a bunch more crap.) Would that cause chronic abdominal pain?? In any case, I'm glad the enzyme supplements are helping. You're right, that's definitely proof enough!!
  5. Congratulations on the weight loss!!! I'm at a difficult, in-between size as well. I like Old Navy, Target, Kohl's, The Gap, and Cato. Nyxie, What did your docs ever say about the low enzyme levels? Did I miss that?
  6. Hey, there's no harm in a little smirk and a "HA!" ...maybe a "Neener, neener" thrown in for good measure!
  7. Amazing news, Amanda!!! I can't wait to see the picture!
  8. OMG!!! I was just out in the kitchen making dinner (sort of) and stewing over the situation, and I was thinking over and over in my head... Poopy Cow.... Poopy Cow! .... POOPY COW! I love that word, and have just been WAITING for an excuse to use it!!! I think this fits the bill. Actually....... The mental chant was more like- Poopy...
  9. You've been lucky so far! My friends and family are the type that picks and teases constantly, and that's ok. But I know her husband mocks my "gluten-free endeavors" ceaselessly, and I think it's sunk into her subconscious. Or maybe not, maybe it's all her. In any case, I think it's an EGREGIOUS breach of best friend behavior guidelines!
  10. Try clicking the Reload button. It takes a while to load. I just went and played it again, and noticed that I'm the elf that is consistently running BEHIND everyone else! The kids just made me play it five times in a row.
  11. I agree! Then she said that this most recent, most heinous reaction is just because I haven't had gluten in awhile. If I start eating it a lot again, it won't make me puke anymore. And this is an intelligent, generally caring person, who I basically grew up with. It's appalling! It's the Celiac!!!!!! All Celiacs are fab dancers!!! ...
  12. That's right! Let's see what other benefits are there to Celiac? - Ready-made excuse for why you're not eating that fruitcake. ....... ............I can't think of any more.
  13. I've always thought "heinously" was a real word! "Heinosity" might be a bit of a stretch... but it reads well!!! I read once, that when packing for a trip--- Pack what you think you'll need. Then remove half of it and take twice as much money! BTW..... in case anyone is interested in a TMI update-- My gluten retribution has now entered a new phase...
  14. Go, Santa! Ah, ok. I use Firefox. Spellcheck generally gets on my nerves. Here's a perfect example- it accepts "specialer," but not "spellcheck."
  15. I don't know! I just does it automatically for me!
  16. How come? (Just curious.)
  17. What kind of Thermoses do you guys use? Do they fit inside the lunch box, or do you send them separate?
  18. Sounds wonderful! But I have to ask-- what is a Pretzel Salad???
  19. Wow!!! Now that is awesome! BTW, I meant to say before-- Susie you are too, too lucky to have been spared the out-the-nose pukies. It really does make a special time even specialer. Wow, "specialer" doesn't come up with a red underline, as being misspelled! I used it but I didn't think it was a real word.
  20. During the last couple months before we put my older son on a gluten-free diet, he was having unexplained low-grade fevers every single day. That went away very quickly once he was on the diet. When he gets accidentally glutened, he will often get a low fever as well.
  21. Anyone in your family have IBS? Bad teeth? Eczema of unknown cause? Migraines? Dark circles under the eyes? Constipation? Joint pain? You can have any or all of the symptoms without showing high enough numbers on the blood test to officially call it "Celiac."
  22. OMG! It's always the quiet ones... An ugly picture of Susie???? NOT possible!!!
  23. OMG!!!  This was an out-loud-guffaw for me! Speaking of meeting board members, we may be coming up to Harrisburg in June for a family reunion. Hubby's family. Oh dear. I sent the Elf link to Brian on Instant Messenger. Just got an IM back- he showed it to his whole office. Gah. Well, I ended up eating some french rolls...
  24. Quickie, trying to catch up-- Kassandra, Have you started the Zithromax yet? If so, could the shallow breathing and trouble swallowing be an allergic reaction?
