  1. As a matter of fact, last night I googled necrotizing faciitis.... I was relieved to see that it doesn't look like what he's got. Told ya I'm a worrier, YES indeed I considered the flesh-eating virus!!! But no, it's just a very severe form of eczema, with a staph infection thrown in for good measure. In all honesty, it DOES look disgusting...
  2. Somehow I knew you'd find it funny, too! Sounds like a perfect plan. Thanks!
  3. OMG! It just keeps getting better and better! Background- 2 mnths ago, Brian (hubby) got a gash on his left ring-finger at work. It wasn't bad enough to need stitches, but I told him to take off his wedding ring, in case the finger swelled. But nooooooo, he didn't want to. Of course it immediately got infected, and it has been so swollen, it's impossible...
  4. Kill them back! Stupid buggies.
  5. Shyeah! And I said I wasn't going to second guess myself, right???? Then WHY are there suddenly 20 articles of clothing and misc. shoes suddenly strewn all over the bedroom!!!??? Yeah, but I bet you could pull it off!
  6. Well apparently, at least in NC, they've decided to become complete {BLEEPS} about that license thing. I mean jeez, it's not like my license was expired for heaven's sake! Just an old address. The cookie mess is a blast, and now that both the kids are a little older, it is my favorite Christmas activity! Yup, got the outfit laid out, and I am NOT...
  7. OMG!!! Grody. Bev! I am natural-born worrier and honestly, I was starting to picture you snowed in somewhere with no power, huddled in a blanket next to an old wood stove, shivering, burning cornstalks for warmth, melting snow for water... I have no idea what your house is like, but when I get going, my imagination takes off! Soooo glad to see you...
  8. Exactly! I didn't know that! The only ones of yours I'd heard are Morgan and Chloe. (I love both of those names, BTW!)
  9. Well, hmm... not sure how to answer... I was 21 and Brian was 23 when we got married... We had Lucas shortly thereafter. I agree, the first year is hard, in fact the first few years were hard for us. Lots of ups and downs and some uncertainty. Once we were worked our way through that... It's impossible to imagine life without him, as sappy as that sounds...
  10. This has been the subject of much discussion... Apparently, the end product has no detectable levels of gluten, even though if you go back, there's an ingredient that had gluten once upon a time. MOST people don't react to non-contaminated McD's fries, although I think there are a few who do. We've only had a problem with them once-- the biggest problem...
  11. We like - *Tinkyada pasta *Kinnikkinnick frozen sandwich bread (I just throw it in the toaster frozen) *The cereals mentioned above, plus Envirokids Gorilla Munch (like Kix,) and Whole Foods 365 brand Cocoa Comets (like Cocoa Puffs.) *Jif Peanut Butter *Smuckers Preserves *Oscar Meyer Franks *Pamela's Pancake & Baking Mix *Pamela's Brownie Mix...
  12. In our experience, the single most difficult item to detect as gluten-free is a good chocolate cupcake. Namaste is an excellent brand. I agree that pancakes are also very, very difficult to tell apart.
  13. I agree with RiceGuy. If you're eating some gluten at most of your meals, it's going to be harder to notice an increase in symptoms from eating a larger amount of gluten. If you give yourself a few weeks of being gluten-free, and then challenge it, it should be much easier. As you noted, you do want to wait until after your scope to go gluten-free. As...
  14. I haven't gotten my samples yet, either, but yeah I figure it's the holidays. Nothing's on time!
  15. Ohhh gawd, I hate that!!! Did you hear that Susie?????? We're famous! Janet, I have the UTMOST faith in you... you WILL bring the funny!
  16. I bought some rolled oats by Bob's Red Mill at Whole Foods, which we haven't tried yet. But they don't say gluten-free on them. Are they not safe? I was worried that they were too cheap to be gluten-free... I am going to be so annoyed... Edit-- Well I went to Bob's Red Mill's website and checked things out, and then looked at my bag of oats, and they...
  17. 78 degrees here today... and we're supposed to get sleet this weekend??? Bizarre...
  18. Oh Dear God! This is the stuff from which nightmares are made!!!
  19. Oh my gosh, yes indeedy- low levels of those enzymes can cause all kinds of heinous issues!!! Sounds like you already know this, but lipase is for digesting fats and amylase is for digesting carbs... Those two make up a huge chunk of what we eat! I hope they get back to you really soon with your results and a plan of action!!! You know what they...
  20. I would love for people to share their recipes for this type of cookie, pretty please! Do you have to... never mind, I'll wait for recipes, THEN start asking question, lol.
  21. Ooooookaaaaayyy..... Basic black, I can do... and really, was Coco ever wrong?
  22. Whew, ok, good deal. And nice one on the fashion coup! I KNEW IT!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh gawd...
  23. Bumble! You know, the Bumble? The abominable snowman from the Rankin/Bass claymation classic, "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer"???? Aren't the abominable snowman and the yeti the same thing? These guys could be cousins! .... and can I just say EEEEK!!???!?! My husband's company Christmas Party is this Friday, and I don't know what to wear. May not...
  24. That sounds about right. I say "pop" and I'm from south western NY. I think "soda" sounds goofy. But that's all you hear down here.
