  1. My hubby had nothing to do with Luke's gluten-free diet at first. He was extremely skeptical at first. (My son was diagnosed, well, by me.) It wasn't until Luke's health totally turned around on the diet that my DH came around. At that point he had a lot of catch-up to do. Even now, as other posters have said- preparation is important. The cupcakes...
  2. That is TOTALLY me! I am one of those demented people, and this year I intend to be waiting outside the door at Kohl's at 4am. $10 Twin sheet sets and 50% off all toys... just too great to miss! Janet, I see you!
  3. I'm going to start bumping up the font size on my posts for Lynn and others who are having a hard time with the new format. Lynn, sorry it took me awhile to reply! As a matter of fact, I am working right now on trying to get the kids on NC's low-cost health insurance. We are a little over the limits, but we may be able to squeeze in anyway. ...
  4. And a nice view, if he pops out of the kitchen once in awhile!
  5. I haven't prepared it and cooked it the next day, but I bet if you're using the no-boil method, it'll be fine. Now I have made gluten-free lasagne and the leftovers warmed up great. I used Tinkyada pasta.
  6. Cornstarch does not contain gluten. As long as you don't have a problem with corn, it's fine.
  7. Update when you can!
  8. I know!!! That's what I said to Emily... if it had been in an appropriate... with a little warning, maybe? Edit-- appropriate THREAD, that is....?
  9. Toaster-poster! Oh mah gah, we are gonna get in so much trouble.
  10. Call Poison Control again. Let them know how long the coughing has been going on, and see what they say! Edit-- Also, try sitting in the bathroom with the shower turned on hot. That can help bring junk up. Hot washcloth on your chest. Anything you would do to get mucous up, should help get that junk out, I would think.
  11. GAH! I totally missed this somehow. Well! If I'd known about THAT I might have slowed my posts down... at least until hubby had gotten home.
  12. Yes, Laura, thanks for that link. I hadn't seen those articles yet! BTW, I love the new pic/avatar.
  13. Thank you for all the congratulations on my 500th post! But what, oh what, is the secret handshake? Password? Wasn't there something of that sort???
  14. Emily, I sent you a PM. I was askeert to post it here. Since it's already been jerked off once. Er... jerked off the board. REMOVED from the board. Yeah.
  15. ...aaaaaaannnd it's gone! Or at least, the last message anyway. That didn't take long.
  16. Ok, I really do have to go now. Ezra's ready to get out of the tub. And I really need to make dinner- Lucas is carefully scraping up all the leftover bits out of the pan of fudge that I already ate. Nikki... You don't have "Pull my finger" in the UK!? Well, what else would it mean, coming up in this thread.... It means, I'm getting ready to fart! ...
  17. Ok, Ezra's in the bathtub. God, I'm a Silly Yak addict. I know, I tried to make my text small and discreet, but it doesn't work anymore. I'm not making fun. I just had to pass on that... educational post.
  18. Yep, I love to talk! Ok, I was totally going to write more, but Ezra just puked all over the living room. Later!
  19. Hey you guys... You need to go read the latest message on the toaster thread.
  20. Yes and No. Yes-- because the gluten that you ingest comes through in your breastmilk. No-- I've never heard of a baby actually being diagnosed by a doctor this young. There may very well be, and I just haven't heard of it. If so, others will post about it. But I have heard many stories of mothers figuring this out on their own. In the same manner, if...
  21. There's a possibility. May not be the most practical, but it's more feasible than $200 a month right now!
  22. Oh yes, the new muted green is much better... kind of a sage. Very nice!
  23. About, breaking up and adult dose, I'm not sure yet. When I talked to the pharmacist about it, she said that the children's zantac was the only medication of it's type that comes in a syrup. I don't think breaking a tablet into that many pieces would work. Even if I could do it, they wouldn't be uniform size. Now, I do think I could break one into 1/...
  24. OMG! I took Ezra back to the doc again, and now she thinks he has reflux. Ok, I was waiting for that one, no big surprise. The surprise came when I was at the pharmacy to pick up his Zantac, and the children's syrup is $200 per month. I HATE DRUG COMPANIES!!!!! You can get adult Zantac at Walmart for $4 per month's supply!!! And by the way...
