Most people still place a lot of faith in doctors, and will take an official diagnosis much more seriously than if I suddenly announced I am avoiding gluten.     I go to get the result of my celiac and other blood tests in a week. It sounds like unexplained anemia and is a big symptom of celiac. But I've had tons of blood tests in the past and never shown to be anemic.     Food allergies can cause nasal symptoms. My ENT tested me for food allerges when the shots for my pollen allergies weren't working as well as expected.     You can als get magnesium with Epsom salt baths. A study in England showed some of the magnesium is absorbed systemically by your skin. I take 1-2 baths a week.     I just had one 3 weeks ago. No food after 10:00 p.m. the day before. Only clear liquids in the morning (water, apple juice gator-aid) , and no liquids at all 3 hours before the endoscopy.

    Wow! That's great news. It does pay to b proactive, that's for sure. Your experience also explains why I'm getting my biopsy results from the P.A. I guess the doctor has to save his precious time for consults and endoscopys. Part of me wondered if I had insulted him in my sedated state, since I think he is a huge jerk.

    My experience with allergy testing for my pollen/enviornmental allergies is that the skin test is far more accurate. So I agree with your nurse. I move around a lot, and have to get periodically retested and have my shot adjusted. The one doctor who used a bood test, the shots didn't work at all.     The Mayo Clinic info on Celiac says a gluten-free diet can cause blood tests and biopsies to appear normal. That is a site that most doctors would consider reliable. Open Original Shared Link Under Screening and Diagnosis--last paragraph.
