  1. Right now I'm looking at everything. I just bought gluten-free living for dummies last night. I haven't read much of it yet but should have some time this weekend. I just need to gather things up and start call manufactures. My problem is finding time since I'm out of the house from 8am to 7pm and can't really get things done at work. Plus now that I'm feeling...
  2. I learned a long time ago that medical science isn't perfect. I've learned in the last 6 months that if you listen to your body it tells you when something is really wrong and at that point go from Dr. to Dr. if you have to. It will be worth it in the end! There are still alot of things medicine doesn't understand. Every person is diffrent so no 1 test...

    ARCHIVED Wow!

You could still very well have it. For instance I don't produce enough IGA. The GI said that can cause a false negitive. None of my test have ruled it out and I'm doing Awesome on the diet. My internist is running an allergy panel and a couple of other things just to be sure there isn't any thing else going on.
  4. How could you claim food on your income tax?
  5. My case is really intersting and I have no clue how long I actually suffered from celiac disease but I think the begining of the major symtoms started about a year and a half agg and then 5 months ago things got to a critical point. I have mild spastic Cerebral Palsy.(Right side) I am mobile have always been very active. About 12 years ago my tremors started...
  6. Is there anyway some one can post the article or does someone have a link to it.
  7. lol It's a good friend of mines name. The only other time I've heard it was in regaurds to a couple that fell in love with the name so when they had thier son that's what they named him.
  8. I haven't tried gluten-free at mc Donald's. I do want to say though that I love you're name! It's only the 3rd time I've seen it! I've decided to stay away from Mc Donald's completely. The chances of CC are just too great there. Their employees in the states are not taught about food allergies at all.
  9. About three weeks ago although I've been on the diet for 5 weeks. I've prob. had symtoms all my life but was told it was the Cerebral Palsy. I started having unexplained problems in 95 and my first bout of low iron in 2000. I'd say I've been sytomatic for 13 years it just got to a breaking point 6 months ago.
  10. I'm in search of one of those too! lol Mine laid off a bit when they saw a reaction first hand and realized how quickly I go down hill and how long it akes me to recover. There are other who simi get it but don't understand CC and why my food really needs to be fixed seprately.
  11. I'm glad things have evened out for you guys. I know it's rough. My family still doesn't really understand either but they are supportive in the fact that they don't get annoyed with me. Those who really understand how sick I was know that we've FINALLY found the problem and don't want to see me that ill agian. That's about all I can say for them though....
  12. That's what we're thinking. I also have Cerebral Palsy and seem to be sensitive to changes that another person wouldn't even notice.
  13. I went to my GI doc yesterday and got copies of my test results. He said the bolod test and endoscpy were inconclusive but since my weight has stablized and I'm feeling alot better to stay on the diet. He said my body actually doesn't produce ENOUGH iga antibodies and that that can mess up the test. I tested negitve in everything but HLADQ8. What does all...
  14. It is alot to wrap your head around. I've noticed that this week hasn't been so rough. I'm in week five of the diet and I noticed Saturday it wasn't so hard to pass up a piece of my friends wedding cake but it was really hard to pass up the cinnimon rolls her mom made the next morning! CC is a big issue for some in term of thier reaction. I worry about it...
  15. This doc is a sweetheart so I think everything will be fine. I just never know these days. I have a physical disability on top of the celiac disease so I learned very early how to handle docs. This is just a doc I haven't figured out yet since I haven't been going to him long.
  16. I wasn't really sure how to title this but I need a little support for one thing and am excited about the other and just wanted to share. I go to my GI in the morning. This is the first time since the endoscpy that he says came back negitive but due to my diet responce my Internist thinks I do have it plus the blood test came back odd twice. (I'm going to...
  17. I'm 5 weeks into the diet. The first couple were the hardest. I use the pasta that has already been suggested and love it. I don't eat a lot of bread right now but Whole Foods has a good gluten free seclection of bread. I seem to be eating corn tortillas more now and they hold me over fine. I'm still trying to figure out the lactose thing. I didn't have any...
  18. There is a support group here but they usually meet for dinner once a month and I don't drive because of the CP so there are places I can't get to. I'll figure everything out it just takes time. I go see my GI in the morning so I'll see what he has to help but this is the one who doesn't think I have celiac disease.
  19. I have the same problem. My mom is starting to see the effects. (Once she saw how quick a reaction can happen she kind of backed off.) Although she says replacing all the plastic in my kitchen isn't important. My best friend got married this weekend so there was alot of eating out this weekend. Her mother told me point blank that she didn't want to hear about...
  20. Being so new to this diet I'm still having problems figuring out the hidden gluten. How do you go about getting gluten-free lists for companies? Who has them and do they cost. I know Publix will send you one, kroger doesn't have one, trader joes does, as does whole foods,Kraft doesn't. I just don't even know where to start. Is pantene safe for hair care,...
  21. It's just so hard! I know I'm still new to everything but I mean sheesh! I'm southern. I love food and it's such a darn chore to go to the store now! I dread it!!!! It would be easier if lists were readily available. I get tired of peoples attitude already! It's not like we do this because we WANT to. This stuff really makes us sick. It's just as serious...
  22. What I don't understand is why the whole thing is so darn hard! The way I look at it EVERYONE should havelists available to consumers concerning major allergy issues. It is not as isolated as people seem to think it is. It's hard enough for me to shop for food since I don't understand all of the hidden gluten yet. I haven't even started going through my make...
  23. That explains alot. I'm feeling better but still not right. I could be the stawberries. Interesting. I'm starting to think that maybe I need to start my own garden although I really hate yard work!
  24. It's along story and I'll explain more once everything is over. Some of the issue has to do with the short notice and the mother of the bride. I picked up a couple of little things this morning. I know my mom hassome gluten-free stuff at her house as well so I might get her to bring something or get her to carry a few things in her bag. Thank you guys for...
  25. Thank you!!!
