  1. I've been gluten free for 6 1/2 years and I can't count how many times this has happened to me. One week, I was on a garlic bread kick...I had my Against the Grain bread, butter spread and McCormick's garlic bread powder....little did I know that had bread crumbs in it!!! Seasonings can be very tricky!! I hope you feel better

  2. This thread is from 2005!!!! We need to be careful about what type of information that we stir up because it might not be valid anymore. For example, on a thread from last May it states:

"Per email: "We're happy to tell you-- all Tropicana products that are 100% juice are gluten free. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that gluten is not present in products that are less than 100% juice.

You can easily determine if a Tropicana product is 100% juice by looking for the Nutrition Facts Panel on the package; the percentage of juice is located just above that panel." Michael, Tropicana Consumer Response"

I've never gotten a hum, uh, hum, response when I've called asking about Chex...when I called, they actually were quite knowledgeable about what constitutes gluten free.

I've learned that its important on this site to look at dates and do your own reseach...not all information is correcT!

  3. You absolutely can trust it. Look up on their website for menus of places, or search gluten free. Many places have gluten free rolls for your sandwiches or burgers. You'll have to wait a long time for yours because they cook it separately and make sure you're taken care of. I've been multiple times and I work for Hershey and can honestly say that I trust the food in the park (per the website recommendation) whole heartedly. Obviously, be wary of fried foods that would share the same oil but I got a Turkey Burger in the water park and it was delicious.

  4. I subscribe but I'll be honest. I don't love it...its nice to have and I think its awesome to have our own magazine but the majority of the recipes in there are ridiculously hard, calling for like 15 different flours and stuff and I just don't have time or energy for that stuff. Some of the recipes seem awesome and then I read what all you have to do and just get frustrated. That being sad...I do like reading some articles and stuff and seeing the ads for the new products. I don't think you can go wrong with subscribing.

  5. I take immodium for emergency purposes but not regularly. It can really cause more damage than good if you use it regularly...that's not to say I haven't had brutal weeks where I absolutely cannot miss work or have something scheduled and have taken immodium several days straight, which I don't recommend but sometimes life gets in the way and your celiac stomach doesn't want to cooperate!

  6. This frustrates me a bit. If I had your symptoms or frustrations, I'd do everything in my power to change it so I felt better. I don't understand why people NEED a diagnosis...if changing your lifestyle and your diet helps YOU feel better, why would you care what a Dr. said? (disclaimer: that's spoken in this case only and Dr's are smart intelligent people who typically have your best interest in mind and should be listened to if you have serious illnesses :P ). Being on a gluten free diet really isn't that hard. You can have sandwiches, just find the best bread and make sure you toast it. Is it convenient? Hell no (can I say hell on this board?) but it's not as hard as it seems.

ooo good to know about yaz. i've been on that now for a couple of years and did not research it yet. glad i won't have to switch!

My doctor told me that my reaction isn't a typical result of the pill. A lot of people lose weight on Yaz...however, a lot of people gain it as well. I don't know what the deal is with that but I'm still struggling to get the extra weight off.

  8. I think about 4 years ago Trix and Cocoa Puffs "went" gluten free...however, many people got pretty sick from it and I don't know that it ever held. There were long lists of messages on this board about both products but the chatter has long calmed down. I tested them both out during this time period and felt gross after each so I haven't went back. I get my fix through Berry Berry Kix......hahah rhyme not intended :)
