  1. As you leisurely peruse the comic stylings of your favoUrite sillies, click quote on each and everyone that you would like to respond to before hitting the reply button. All of them will be listed and then you can cut and paste like a kindergartner!
  2. Wow! I didn't know you could do that! I knew about overemoticonizing but not excessive quotifying. Huh, learn something new everyday . . . guess I'm done for today.
  3. Angie, That is a gorgeous baby!!!! Good Luck with the house hunting!!
  4. Helllllooooooo Everyone!! We're Back . . . and I'm still full!! Had 20 for dinner and tons of help so it wasn't too bad. Highlights of the trip (OK - lowlights - just need to rag a bit): Dad likes the thermostat set to 82 (insert sweaty emoticon). Everytime dad gets up at night to use the bathroom, someone (most of the time, me, so that mom could...
  5. We're outta here . . . Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
  6. See now, Susie . . . there's your problem. You wanted a HOT French diplomat. When you're HOT, you sweat . . . resulting in, yes . . . stinky BO. Also, what were you thinking? Athletes? Of course, they sweat. You need to find yourself a nice looking couch potato.
  7. It's all relative, isn't it?
  8. Oh, it's the Holidays!!! Everyone is allowed a little overindulgence on Holidays! You go ahead, Amanda. You smoke as much yeti scat as you want!
  9. I'm pulling a Susie . . . I'm suppose to be studying Spanish but instead . . . Oh, wait. That IS Susie. I'm suppose to be packing. We're hitting the road in about 2 hours. I have nothing in my suitcase, yet. Think anybody will notice if I wear the same thing for four days?
  10. Hmmm, you don't remember? Don't they have those hood-vent-things where you work so you don't breathe in too many fumes? Maybe you should have the maintainence dept. take a look at yours.
  11. Something from the archives (page 50) . . . I thought it was worthy enough to quote for all of us newbies in the thread. I'm sure Emily can use it in one of her classes.
  12. I so agree with ravenwoodglass here. Being upfront about how you shouldn't have been preaching and that it is obviously not a diet for everyone will take you a long way (IMO). And kudos to you for listening to your gut and figuring out that you needed to go gluten-free when your vegan support group was telling you not to.
  13. Welcome Julie . . . any questions, just ask! If you would like to know the best replacements for your sons favorite foods, just give us a list of what he likes. I wasted a lot of money in the beginning trying foods that weren't that great. I should have just asked . . . what's the best kind of chicken nugget? . . . or whatever . . . and I would have gotten...
  14. Well, if you've already read 200 and on, you really only need to read page 186. It isn't mentioned again until 200. Of course if you WANT to read it because we are all just so darn amusing . . . As in "I'll have a Diet Pepsi with a splash of Mountain Dew?" . . . so you like mixed drinks, huh? Happy Birthday on Friday! . . . and for your...
  15. Yes, I'd say you captured what I was trying to convey . . .And Emily, when you asked if you should want to be flocked . . . I just didn't have a good answer for you. I guess it depends on who is doing the flocking. For those who dare to venture back . . . the yeti is first mentioned by Jess on page 186. It was dropped but then brought...
  16. Just to throw out another option: I use 2/3 cup corn FLOUR 1/3 of my gluten-free flour mix (right now I'm using Annalise Roberts) onion powder salt garlic powder pepper all to taste Beat one egg and dredge chicken through egg first and then the flour mix and then fry. My kids like it better than the way I made chicken before. I make extra...
  17. Here's a good flour discussion . . . you'll find that everyone has different tastes. Some people like bean flours, some don't. Some like the rice flours, some don't . . . You'll need to add xanthan gum to help with your texture but the thread below goes into it more: Open Original Shared Link
  18. In general, no one flour replaces wheat flour. It is usually a mixture of at least 3 flours/starches. One of the most common one has 2 cups rice flour 2/3 cups potato starch 1/3 cup tapioca starch/flour Here is a great recipe for cupcakes Open Original Shared Link Get your rice flour at an asian market. It's a finer ground flour and it makes...
  19. Hey!!! Don't you try to be learnin' me any English or I'll have to throw a differential equation at you!
  20. So Finally!! I took some pictures of our young girl. This is our defective pound dog . . . but we love her anyway! Haven't you heard that saying . . . if you point your finger at someone, remember there are 3 more pointing at you . . . 'nough said. Yes, we did! How's that Spanish coming along?
  21. It's peer pressure, you know!! All the cool kids are havin' fun on the silly thread!! OK, so did Sesame Street write the song and asked him to sing it or did they ask him to write and sing the song? Cookies are on hold!!! I dropped the d@mn carton of eggs!!! They just don't taste/cook the same without eggs! By the way, SuZee...
  22. Well, we all know Tom, that quack, is back to himself when he throws down the word pun gauntlet! Now, as I migrate towards a suitable reply and duck his retorts, I think I might just be flocked!
  23. Oh yes . . . you didn't notice? . . . didn't read the "changes" thread? The default font is back to size 2. I wanted to plead my case that we needed our size 2 on the silly thread so that when we make snide comments and give stage directions we could use size 1 but I thought that would only hurt the cause so I kept my mouth shut. (Which is indeed difficult...
  24. Ahhhh, Fresh Meat . . . I mean WELCOME, Joi-phull Your assignment is to go back and read the entire thread so that you know what we are talking about . . . Good Luck and take some advice from Peter and do some heavy drinking while you are at it. It will make us appear all the more wittier and better looking! Perhaps it's because the...
  25. Cooking has started. Today I'm making lasagne to freeze and take for Saturday night. I've made chex(type) mix, muddy buddies and tonight is the choc chip cookies. Everything gluten-free, of course so that the kiddos will have some proper treats when everyone else is going hog wild on the gluten stuff at my mom & dad's. Doing Christmas while we are...
