  1. That is pretty much exactly how I healed myself as well. I will say that I am very mindful that it can come right back though if you don't continue to eat well and do all of the other things necessary to maintain optimal health.
  2. This has been fun to read. Too bad every now and then it gets confrontational. Clearly we all just want to feel better and sharing our ideas is one way to do so. I look at all of this as a big ladder with a bunch of broken rungs. If there are only two broken rungs in a row we can usually climb over it if our legs are long enough and get to the top. If...
  3. We can debate the differences between celiac and GI but that is another topic. I think some of us feel like some beer may not have gluten in it either at all or in parts so small that some of us don't react. Noone is recommending drinking beer for Celiac sufferers but there is more that we don't know about all of this than we do know.
  4. I'm not Celiac but gluten is a problem for me. Carona Light - no problem any regular beer - problem
  5. I'm going to have to completely AGREE with you.

    Is abx an anti-biotic?

Looks like my father is being diagnosed with this. I had never heard of it until yesterday. From what I've read briefly it is a bacterial (not fungal) overgrowth. It is treated with anti-biotics and pro-biotics oddly enough. I would like to know any theories on why it may occur. Is candida related to this? I find probiotics to be the most helpful for...
  8. Have you eaten tomatoes recently? Several people I know have had the same symptoms as you recently, including myself. I have a feeling it's related to the salmonella outbreak somehow. I thought I was having a food reaction but it lasted for days and wasn't fixed by diet.
  9. Did you figure this out yet? I have seen this problem posted in several places on the net. For me it was my Ileo Cecum valve being stuck open. Oddly enough it can happen from too much ruffage or too little ruffage. Google the Ileo Cecum Valve and let me know if you think this might be the problem. Mine seems good for the last few weeks.
  10. Ever since my first good exposure to the sun this summer my candida symptoms have faded. My diet has been less than ideal yet the brain fog and lethargy are largely gone. I'm convinced that the sun exposure is covering the candida symptoms. With my diet there is no way that the candida isn't still present. Could lack of sunshine be like heavy metal toxicity...
  11. I think I saw a Seinfeld episode like this. Elaine went to the doctor, they thought she was being difficult so they sent her away. The next doctor looked at her charts, saw the previous doctors comments and so on and so forth. You are your own doctor. Most of what you need to get you on the path to wellness you can find for yourself. You've found this...
  12. I think this is highly unlikely. Nature doesn't build us that way. Nature allows us to restore vitamin D (which is actually a hormone) after periods of low light by exposure to sunlight. There are some Dr's and researchers that believe you can't get any useful vitamin D from supplements or food. My kids (I have 4 under the age of 5) get regular short...
  13. I've had the same pain for the last month. My Chiropractor friend thinks it might be my Ileo-Cecal Valve. Here is a quick link www.energybalancing.com/selfeval/ileocecal . I did a quick google search for this link. Mine hurts right now. I was sitting here massaging the area when I cam across this topic. I personally feel like there is a sore in my cecum...

I don't have celiac but I can relate to this. My mother was the same way. I say was because I let her have it with both barrells one day and told her that neither me nor my children needed her in our lives and that it was up to her to decide what kind of relationship she wanted with us. This came after months of struggling with gluten intolerance and her...
  15. Don't send me back there again Those people are crazy. I couldn't find anyone willing to say much on the subject. Sounds like they've gone through the topic a few times. I'm sticking with it. I really think there is something to it. I'm a swimmer so I don't find the chlorine smell to be too bad and the taste is fine.
  16. The pads are kind of fun in a way but I didn't believe they were contributing to my (what's the opposite of brain fog?). I think the MMS is helping big time though. I'm going to give the pads a week or so and see if they change but I doubt they will.
  17. Chlorine Dioxide - I wrote about this earlier this week. It's also called MMS or Miracle Mineral Supplement. I really want someone else to try this stuff. Someone who suffers from Lyme preferably and or serious brain fog from candida. I need to know if my results are pschosymatic. I am having a more than positive experience with what it has done for my mental...
  18. I tried those detox foot pads last night. I bought the ones that were recommended on an other thread not the ones on TV. My wife (who is uber fitness woman) also tried them. Both of us had a lot of gross looking stuff on the pads in the am. I woke up at 6am and bounded out of bed. She felt exhausted. We are going to continue on the foot pads for a two weeks...
  19. So if we don't have Celiac (I don't - no intestinal villi damage) then what are we to think of a candida infection? This is the Leaky Gut Forum. Most if not all of us in this section have ruled out Celiac (I might be wrong on this but it's my perception). I ate wheat yesterday and am OK today. The ice cream part of that cone put the hurt on me though
  20. Settle down sport..... Rachel is our resident knowledge machine here ......I suspect you might give her a run for her money though. Something tells me you spend a lot of time lecturing the books in your library I've learned one thing so far and one thing only...none of us have any definitive answers to our immune system problems. Share with us...
  21. You should check out dogtorj.net for some interesting reading on this subject..... Actually it sounds like you may have already.
  22. I'm going to have to go ahead and agree with most of what you are saying. I think we started growing and eating wheat more like 10,000 years ago but let's not split hairs. It's really only recently that it's become a problem suggesting the higher gluten content (more stickiness) that has been engineered into wheat is probably to blame. Couple that with all...
  23. OK but my doctor thinks chronic fatigue is lack of sleep and/or stress. At this point I've dropped 45 pounds and I am back in pretty good physical condition. How do I convince a doctor that occassionally I get knocked down by fatigue. "Get some sleep, reduce stress and take a couple of these" I can hear it now.
  24. I hope no one minds but I would like to jump in on this thread (all 1900 pages of it) and ask some questions. Rachel has been kind enough to open my eyes to the possibility that the candida that caused the food intolerances is itself caused by something else. Maybe heavy metals maybe Lyme's. I have read like crazy to get a grasp on what to do next because...
  25. some would argue that acne is one of many signs that your body is detoxing. I'll bet you that both your stress and anxiety as well as your acne go away with a gluten free diet. It make take more than that but start there. Open Original Shared Link This link discusses toxicity but doesn't mention gluten. Consider though that your body believes gluten...
