  1. This is an entry from my blog that I posted a couple of weeks ago. I did not know the topic had ever come up here! Tale of Kindness My church serves Communion on the first Sunday of every month. The unleavened bread (probably matzo ~ looks like an unsalted cracker) is laden with gluten. The family responsible for preparing the Communion items...
  2. I asked my local Henry's to order some mixes, but bread baking is really not my thing. I would rather just buy a loaf. People keep posting about Kinnikinnick English muffins and pizza crusts and all that good stuff that I would love to try, but I can't find any of it anywhere. Not at Henry's (bought out by Whole Foods) Not at Ralphs (aka...
  3. Not sure how to vote as the left pinky is even and the right one is longer. How can you live almost 59 years and not realize they are different lengths! My hand folding is recessive - never knew that either! Sandi
  4. LaChoy Soy Sauce does not list wheat as an ingredient as other brands do. They do list "Caramel Color" but only list "Soy" as an allergen. Sandi
  5. Try searching eBay for Visions Cookware by Corelle. I don't think you can buy it new anymore, but if anyone knows of a source for new stuff, let me know!
  6. I ran across this while looking for something else (of course!) and thought someone here might find it useful. It is from Kroger's website and is a 3 page pdf file. [url=Open Original Shared Link
  7. Ever heard of In and Out Hamburgers? Try doing a search!
  8. I hope you son is feeling better! Just not going back to that restaurant won't correct anything. Yes, it will keep your son from another bad experience there, but won't help prevent someone else from going through the same thing. For all the restaurant knows, you just moved away. You need to write down the entire sequence of events, including...
  9. Here in Southern California we have Ralphs grocery stores, owned by Kroger. I have been eating Ralphs house brand of Creamy Ranch Dressing without any problems. Being a house brand, it is less expensive than the national brands, and I think it tastes fine! It does contain both egg and milk. The starches listed are "modified tapioca starch" and...
  10. Being a rookie and all, I hope I have read the forum rules correctly and am doing the right thing by telling you to check my profile for info about what I have taken for years
  11. Are these rings red? Has she been tested for Lyme disease?
  12. I'm still really new here so I hope it's OK to post this. I notice that a lot of newly diagnosed people are overwhelmed with the expense of changing their diets. May I suggest visiting Open Original Shared Link. The people who run it have CFS and Fibromialgia rather than gluten intolerance / Celiac, but they are very familiar with chronic health issues...
  13. I am really new here and have learned a lot. "Surprised" doesn't quite describe what I was when I discovered that most soy sauce is made from wheat. Devastated comes closer! But then I discovered LaChoy, which does not list wheat as an ingredient as all the others do. I don't know about others, but I don't have any trouble with it. Just thought I...
  14. For years before I even heard of gluten intoletrance, I have said "Glue Sticks Are Your Friend." Glue sticks are cheap, envelope glue tastes bad, and I can't think of a single good reason to lick an envelope!
  15. The jury lounge is no big deal, but you cannot get up and leave the court room in the middle of witness testimony! Any court official should be able to see that. I wouldn't worry about it, though. Attorneys from both sides grill each prospective juror before making their selections. Each attorney can excuse a certain number of prospects without stating...
  16. Try a product called "Benecalorie." It is available online and in some local pharmacies. Do a Google search and take your pick. It may be just what you need.
  17. Thanks for all the replies. It's definitely not the dairy. All I know is I am crossing out the "gluten free" on the boxes and donating them to my church pantry.
  18. Hi everyone. I am new to this forum and found it while I was trying to find a way to contact Wal-Mart. Great Value Scalloped Potatoes & Au Gratin Potatoes are boldly labeled "GLUTEN - FREE" but my digestive system says otherwise. I don't see anything on the label that sends up red flags, but I really don't believe the product is as gluten free...
