Dear all, I posted this in another part of the forum but didn't get any responses. I just wondered if anyone who is super sensitive like I am knows of a reliably gluten-free denture cleaning solution? I am having real trouble sourcing this and am currently not sure what to do as if I don't wear the denture I have a visible gap - it is making me quite...

ARCHIVED Gluten Free Denture Cleaner?
carolynmay posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Dear all, This topic has been asked before but not recently, so I wonder if things may have changed. Can anyone recommend a reliably gluten free denture cleaner please? It is for nylon dentures (Valplast). I have been using a product which turns out to contain gluten. Many thanks for any help, Carolyn -
ARCHIVED Humaworm? Other Parasite Cleanse?
carolynmay replied to carolynmay's topic in Super Sensitive People
I have had Entamoeba histolytica and Giardia Lamblia in the past (picked up in Malaysia). Both were treated with antibiotics - apparently successfully - but then "triggered off" celiac disease. I have never really been well since infection with these parasites and I am interested in the increasing school of thought that auto-immune disease may in fact... -
Dear all, I want to do a parasite cleanse - for a few fairly sensible reasons. However, I am super sensitive and struggling to find one which does not have grain alcohol (which I cannot tolerate). Humaworm has come up as one that seems to be very well rated and does not contain alcohol. However when I asked them a bit earlier today if it is gluten...

ARCHIVED Maybe It Is Gmo's Causing Problem
carolynmay replied to bartfull's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
From what this suggests, it may not be the GMO per se, but the Roundup: Open Original Shared Link I thought this was an extremely interesting article I have to say - the link to the main article also discusses in some depth the likely mineral deficiencies found in many celiacs. -
ARCHIVED gluten-free For 6 Years, Worse Than Ever. Help! New Person Here: )
carolynmay replied to gluteymommy's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Try cutting out all GMOs, including meat, eggs and dairy with animals fed from them. At least one brand of GM corn has a pesticide inserted into it. I am personally sure that in years to come people are going to realise that ingesting foods with a pesticide inserted into the DNA are really not good news for those who already have compromised gut bacteria... -

ARCHIVED Bacterial Dysbiosis/leaky Gut
carolynmay replied to Bryan E's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Sorry - I should also have said that I did the Specific Carbohydrate Diet for 1.5 years as well - after the ileo cecal valve treatment. I didn't use any probiotics or fermented foods though as I just couldn't tolerate them, so essentially it became a diet of meat, fish, eggs, all veg except potatoes and sweet potatoes (or corn of course), nuts and low sugar... -
ARCHIVED Bacterial Dysbiosis/leaky Gut
carolynmay replied to Bryan E's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Hi there - I am also really sorry to hear of your situation. I was similar myself though a few years ago - although I am a diagnosed coeliac and hyper sensitive with it, so getting rid of gluten did help somewhat. Four things have made a significant difference with me I think: i. Acupuncture by a gut specialist who also manipulates the ileo-cecal... -
ARCHIVED To A Friend's For Dessert.
carolynmay replied to 1desperateladysaved's topic in Super Sensitive People
I'm also really sorry to hear that. Hope you are feeling ok. I thought I would tell you a story which might hopefully make you laugh. I went out for lunch to a pub with my sister and a couple of friends last Summer, and I cooked all my own food to take in my lovely plastic box and lid. So while the others all tucked into their gorgeous looking roast... -
Hi all - I just wondered if anyone has tried these? They are supposed to be derived from rock mineral salts only (in water) and therefore apparently have absolutely no contact with gluten or indeed other grains, dairy or soya. I tried the bone support one today and felt slightly odd stomach wise so just wondered if anyone else had tried them with any...

ARCHIVED Inhalation Again - At Work - Very Worried
carolynmay replied to carolynmay's topic in Super Sensitive People
Thank you very much all for your replies. I don't use the microwave myself so it's not that. Perhaps it is just an almighty coincidence and it is indeed a stomach virus - hope so. I am going to look into air filters - that was a good thought - thank you again. Best wishes, Carolyn -
ARCHIVED Inhalation Again - At Work - Very Worried
carolynmay posted a topic in Super Sensitive People
Dear all, Someone at work cooked some biscuits and popcorn in the microwave last Friday afternoon and it literally smelled like sitting in a bakery for about 3 hours afterwards as the air conditioning is very poor in our offices and the smell just permeated everywhere. Ever since then I have had stomach issues (D on saturday, severe cramping yesterday... -
ARCHIVED Adrenal Fatigue? What Are These Symptoms?
carolynmay replied to Pisqualie's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
A chiropractor may be able to do this as well - I think my acupuncturist learned his manipulation technique from a chiropractor originally - good luck! -
ARCHIVED Adrenal Fatigue? What Are These Symptoms?
carolynmay replied to Pisqualie's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
hello - I have just seen this and realise it was posted some months ago but thought I would reply in case you see it. I am also a celiac but have had further problems beyond this when on a gluten free diet. The thing that has made a huge difference for me was getting my intestinal valves treated - ie. ileocecal valve mainpulation and same for the other... -
Hi there - I use Allergy Research Group's calcium citrate, magnesium citrate and zinc citrate without any noticeable issues. They have confirmed with me that all are free from wheat, oats, barley, rye, corn / maize, dairy and soya - so a good start! They also have a multi vitamin and mineral, but the vitamin C in that is currently from fermented corn...

That's ok - it's all made for an interesting read! Shall be having nightmares about Poultry of Mass Destruction for some time :-)

ARCHIVED Gluten Free Chicken? No Such Thing
carolynmay replied to buckwheat's topic in Super Sensitive People
I can perhaps add something here as I actually spoke to a chicken farmer about the slaughter process, although I do appreciate that different farms / slaughter houses may adopt different processes. However, he said that here in the UK at least there are very strict rules that any meat which is spoiled by coming into contact with any fecal matter / digestive... -
Ah - sorry - I hadn't realised this had been debated before. I had searched but hadn't found anything on it. This is quite interesting, although again, sorry if this has been picked up before. Open Original Shared Link Something else I read suggested that when chickens are fed a diet of fish, the eggs can taste slightly of the fish. Another...

Hi all, Here in the UK you can't get eggs from chickens which are only raised on pasture and other non-grain feed. Hence, we don't have any choice but to eat eggs fed on wheat, corn, soya etc. I just wondered how other super sensitives find eggs from chickens fed on grain? Do you manage ok with them, or do they cause a reaction? There doesn't seem...

ARCHIVED Liothyronine - Gluten, Corn And Lactose Free Version? Paddock?
carolynmay replied to carolynmay's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks for that Roda - at least that's gluten that's hopefully ok then! Best wishes, Carolyn -
Dear all, I think this is a tall order, but worth a try. I have been diagnosed as hypothyroid and my doctor wants me to take T3 rather than T4 in case I cannot convert T4 to T3. However, I am not only a super sensitive where gluten is concerned, but also sensitive to corn and lactose - joy! I have narrowed things down to the Paddock brand of liothyronine...

No - the reason it isn't psychosomatic is that I don't react at the time - and indeed it's taken me ages to work out what I think the cause is. I react the next day - my system goes into overload and kicks everything out. And it's the same deal when sitting in a room with people eating sandwiches. If it were psychosomatic I would expect to feel ill when...

I would suggest that we don't know anything like as much as we need to about the way the body recognises and reacts to a substance which triggers an auto-immune response. Just because there isn't actually "gluten" per se in steam or vapour doesn't mean the body might not recognise the smell or some kind of similarity with what it used to know as the evil...

ARCHIVED Ongoing Fatigue - What To Try Next? Low Fodmap Or Scd?
carolynmay replied to kam43's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Hi Newbee - yes, I did have an endoscopy after about 1 year on the SCD, which showed normal villi height and only slightly raised intra-epitheial lymphocytes - ie back to Marsh stage 1. I was starting from complete villous atrophy on diagnosis, but after even 4 - 5 years on a standard gluten free diet with all the usual precautions, not eating out etc etc...
