  1. Wow cool trick! I am going to try it for sure.... So you really only eat 2 meals a day?? How many calories are you taking in? I eat almost every 3-4 hours and its because I feeellll hungry. I am 21yrs old and work as a sales associate so I am contantly on the move (for the most part) I really dont need to lose a lot of weight but I would be very happy...
  2. I too had a roommate that ate gluten and the panic attacks....yes....that was me every day! Needless to say I live alone now but its really hard.. My suggestion is to somehow or somewhere in your own room store certain foods..just to make it easier for you. I had crates I got from target and put my cereals and other dry foods in there...just stashed in...
  3. YES! I was in Trader Joes today and on the package of two different kinds of waffles it clearly stated gluten free. When I looked at the back..it said made on shared equipment with wheat...I almost called over the manager I would NEVER EVER eat anything made with wheat....thats a huge contradiction. Anyways, because they were the only gluten-free products...
  4. This may sound very idiotic but isnt it considered gluten-free if there is no "wheat germ oil" or wheat proteins in it? Sorry, I am trying to convert an have been using Kiehls products...some of their stuff has wheat germ but the stuff I use does not...does this run the risk of cross contamination???? -Staci

    ARCHIVED Doctor Of Elimination?

THAT was my biggest concern...I had a feeling they were totally different things thats why I wasnt sure it was going to be an efficient visit!!! Wow...that cleared a lot up I will have to make sure to ask. My interest has peaked many times about this Enterolab test....when I looked on the website it was almost 300 dollars and had many different tests and...
  6. A woman at my work joined WW a year ago and asked me to join with her...I would be all for it but it was too expensive for my budget at the time. I have heard a lot of great things about it...how the points work and the support that is available..this is a great idea! Glad to hear you have been so successful on it... I am off to a good start though I have...
  7. I bought a roasted chicken from costcos today and have had an ounce here and there whenever I feel a slight hunger start...I really think it is helping. If not supressing my appetite...its definately slow digesting and I love how quick it fills me and stays! I would give this shot if binging is a problem.

    ARCHIVED Doctor Of Elimination?

I agree, I am suspicious of so many foods but it is not realistic to cut everything out and keep re-purchasing different foods for me. I need someone who can test me for skin and internal food allergies...it would work wonders but I do not have a good idea as to who I can turn to..I have heard a lot about Naturopathic drs. Is that covered by insurance? I...
  9. Thanks for the reply... My stomach is sensitive to eggs...like you I can not eat many. Sometimes they are the easiest thing though...cook up so fast and always ready to eat. I am always worries about the grains fed to the chickens so I am going to look into the flaxseed fed eggs. Thanks! The brown rice slow cooker idea is a good one...I am going to...
  10. I too just became interested in this thread....just by snooping in here. I am experiencing very similiar cravings and want to control them...However, my biggest question is what exactly do you eat for breakfast? and every other little snack and meal inbetween? I personally feel hungry after about 2-3 hours. I am consistant with my mini meals but...

    ARCHIVED Doctor Of Elimination?

Thanks for the replies... I made an appointment with an Allergist on the 28th. On that date he will perform a "scratch test." I suppose this will do the trick but has anyone found out about other foods this way?? Also, my skin breaks out pretty regularly and I know this will help that but I am a little nervous about the efficiancy of this kind of test...
  12. I have had to do this!!! We totally divided the kitchen....i had one half of the sink, one part of the counter, refridgerator and freezer. I kept all my own sponges, pots, pans, silver wear, plates etc. It can be pricey but let me tell u it is so worth it!! I even went so far as buying my own toaster oven (to avoid the glutened oven) george forman grill...

  14. I have been wanting to get an allergy test done since I have been gluten-free and am still having regular symptoms. I have tried Elimination diets in the past and I have not noticed any differences...especially because every diet is different. I havent found a doctor out here in Las Vegas NV that understands this disease so I am looking for an effective...
  15. I am DESPERATE!!! I have been gluten-free for almost 3 yrs now annd am still having severe symptoms regularly...I think I am allergic to other things but the quest to get an Allergix IGg blood test has been more than difficult!!!! ARCHIVED Doctor Of Elimination?

Doctor OR* Elimination Diet?!?!? Hi all, I am headed into my 3rd year of gluten free living and am not sure what I am doing wrong. For the last few months I have been having more frequent relapses and they need to stop! I am looking for an elimination diet that could help me figure out if I need to stop with dairy, soy and corn etc. I am hoping someone...
  18. Thanks a bunch for the help April! I am going to seriously look into it and let you know. Bye for now. -Staci
  19. Hi everyone! Ok, in hopes that I don't sound like a total idiot....what is this diet and where can I learn more!?!? I have been feeling very sick lately and am only eliminating gluten as of now. I have been reading more and more of this thread and before I start the "elimination diet" I would love to know more about this Candida Diet. I did some research...
  20. I have found carmel coloring in cokes and some liquors bothers my stomach...kind of strange but how often do u drink drinks like coke? I have always been afraid of it since a violent reaction (this could also just be my strange system).... I envy you for knowing the way "cc" feels verses actual consumption of gluten...may I ask how can you know this...

  22. I was diagnosed almost three years ago in Cleveland Ohio. My GI doctor was amazing and I could not have asked for more. I live in Las Vegas now and my insurance is Aetna. I desperately need to find a doctor or specialist that can help me figure out why my symptoms are still persisting. I have heard a lot through these chats that there are some types of...
  23. I have totally thought about doing this too!!! My ideas and questions are the same. My symptoms are still lingering and it has been almost 3 years!!! I feel like I am being poisioned by things I was told I am allowed to eat but ironically overall I feel better than I did prior to diagnosis! Anyways, your totally on my wavelength....I too need to seek some...
  24. Wow, (celiac-mommy) what an inciteful story..thanks so much for sharing. I can not say I have had the same "type" of struggle but I can definately relate to how it was for you growing up. I am the youngest of 3 and my older sister was always the tiny one. My parents used to call me "hot dog" when I was a kid because I literally looked like I was 3rd world...
  25. I am a college student and work full time...needless to say I have a super busy life so sometimes it seems impossible to be on the run and eat small meals frequently. I can not even make it to a microwave every few hours let alone a complete kitchen to prepare all these meats/proteins I know I need to eat. When I make it home in the evening I usually eat...
