  1. I bought the Cocoa Puffs and I haven't had a reaction.
  2. I exercise every other day, Take a hypoallergenic prenatal vitamin every day, and I use Hydroxycut (two tablets in the morning) every day. I have never felt better and I have lots of energy despite being anemic. I talked to my Doctor and she said that the only thing that was in there that was "bad" was caffeine, and she said that would probably help me...
  3. Well I've called my insurance company and since it's not a military physician or facility, the military won't cover it (Go Figure) Ah well.
  4. I live in Ft Meade, MD which is between Baltimore and Washington DC. I would LOVE to go!!! It sounds like it would be so much fun!
  5. The commisary at Ft Meade, MD carries Amy's products, but they aren't the GFWF ones. They sell Van's waffles and Envirokids but they stay out of stock a lot of the time. I have to admit though, the commisary here is a lot better than the one at Ft Sill, OK.
  6. What about Dr. Pepper and Barq's root beer?
  7. My local Safeway (in MD too) carries Pamela's cookies, Mrs. Leeper's Pasta and Meals, and some of the Bob's Red Mill flours, but most of them are the "other" kind. They also carry Amy's products, but not the WFGF kind.
  8. I tried Ener-g's Harvest Loaf and it was pretty good as far as being a bit tastier than the cardboard they try to pass for bread. I've tried the ones from the Whold Foods Market and on our income, I can't pay that much for bread that will spoil in a few days. Right now i'm buying Bob's gluten-free Sandwich Bread Mix and I have to say that it's the closest...
  9. I tried the chicken nuggets and fish sticks from Ian's and I wasn't impressed. For paying 6 dollars a box, you would think that there would be some meat in the gluten free breading. I don't know if it were those particular boxes, but it was fish and chicken pieces connected together with breading. Did anyone else have this happen to them? I'm willing...
  10. I live in MD and I was wondering if the large organic/gluten free section was in all Giant stores or in a select few. There is a Food Lion right outside the base here and they carry a lot of the Bob's Red Mill products and a select few of the organic frozen meals. The only place I could find the Amy's gluten free frozen meals are at Whole Foods Markets...
  11. I Love: My Husband-because he tries all my "experiments" and is honest when he says he likes something. My Son-because he's the comic relief and he'll eat anything. My Daughter-because she is so understanding and so critical. My Life-I'm still alive and kicking Finding sites like this one that have so many ideas and helpful people. My Beagle-because...
  12. My favorites are the ones by Jax Peters Lowell. Against the Grain and the Gluten Free Bible. They helped me with getting over felling down and dealing with family who say "Can't you just have a little?". The Gluten Free Bible is the newest and has a whole lot more info in it and Mrs. Lowell has a good sense of humor.
  13. What is Enterolab and why does it seem like that is the gold standard in testing? What do they do when they test? I have taken a blood test that came back inconclusive and had a "Biopsy", but the gastro that I saw said that he didn't see any scarring. I've had an appendectomy a few months ago and the surgeon said that I needed to be retested because from...
  14. I am second generation Irish. One set of Grandparents came from County Cork and the others came from Belfast. The only side that had the symptoms were the ones who were from Cork. They were "country people". The other side that was from Belfast didn't have any signs from celiac disease, but there was Diabetes and Colon and Prostate Cancer. I was really...
  15. Hi I'm in Ft Meade, MD. We've been stationed here for a year and I'm in heaven. We're originally from Texas, which is great. We spent 5 years in south Oklahoma, where I was diagnosed with Celiac after my son was born. There are so many opportunities here for food and research, it's astounding! I thought that my life was reduced to shopping at really...
  16. I'm new to the website, but not new to Celiac Disease and i've noticed that a few of the signatures have the word glutening and a date beside it. What does this mean?
