  1. <tom hastily discards lit banana peel> "I KNEW THAT!!" That'll work! Fewer words works too. I think just the word "graphic" got me scrollin' thru Christine's post! (And it depends on your definition of "very soon") ROFL
  2. Oh no no no you can't stick this on ME!! All we heard ALL day was he's too into me I'm not interested now it's a non-date isn't that pathetic? etc etc ALL FLIPPIN DAY!! ROFL My so-called theories (can I use Axioms?) are spot-on for the situation described! Non-date non-date mantra didn't take? I knew *HE* thought it was a date!...
  3. Hehe font and color fun! Gluten reintro'd for me at age 5. And I do mean "AT" age 5. Mom was happy to give me a normal bday cake on my 5th - exactly per Dr's orders. Was your reintro also at age 5?
  4. G'Day Jaybarts!!! (Yeah I'm fakin' it) Geoff is certainly right. (Except, tsk tsk, where he calls 'celiac' 'celiacs') Geoff Geoff Geoff . . . . . . Welcome to the forum JB (can I call u JB LOL ) It's a great place for a celiac. <crossing fingers that your GP and doesn't say "IBS, here's a pamphlet . . .. . .Next!!">
  5. OMG I saw that Nova w/ epigenomes!! So completely fascinating. I hadn't heard of epigenetics at all. I did bring up the topic in another thread, where post-embryonic differentiation got a passing mention. So, these epigenomes turning genes Off, does have everything to w/ celiac and cases where just one identical twin gets it, correct? Margaret, Great...
  6. LOL!! He sure never felt what *I* felt. Awww now a pic won't be a surprise!! PF Chang's is maybe a 4min brisk walk from where Claire will be. Maybe 6-10 if taking in the scene on the way. Stupid fences might alter that. JazzFest is free for ~18yrs and now it's the 2nd year of a charge. A charge means fences. Fences everywhere. 9 stages...
  7. Oh Susan . . . . .. I've had my chuckles poking fun at the "non-date" today, but if I may be so bold it's time I switch gears and . . . . . well . . .. .let's say "parrot the type of things a friend might say". #1 - no matter what he's said, there's still a "1st date" auditioning aspect to tonight for him. No doubt, even w/ just the handful of...
  8. AND a gift . .. LOL Friendly neighbors bring everyday wine. No can do, sault-tse. I have had LOADS of fun w/ female friends! (whoa - does right now also count?) In spite of what looks like a potential train-wreck, I too wish you luck tonight. That's but one version of a marble story....
  9. Hey there Dingy - how do you reconcile these two seemingly conflicting statements? (hmmmmm let me take a stab - one's a joke and the other's an illusion?) D'oh!!
  10. For women and men in general, there is anecdotal evidence to the contrary. Hehe PerplexerSpice . . . . . <sally said WHAT?!!>
  11. Ack I'm driving hoping for a red light so I can type! Bev! Hope you're back in the saddle soon! And I've been meaning to ask about the horse, of course. Do u have one or some or used to or wish u did or WHAT!?? Well, that's on the other side of the issue. But it reminds me of something many married men have told me about a jar and...
  12. Oh LOL all over this one, Pseu-zee - "microwaved tea" and all. Give me 2:1 odds and I'll bet he shows up w/ flowers. (Are u *both* calling it "not a date"? ) I've *never* understood the guys that think a simple dinner creates other obligations. Tho if the 'strategy' works a few times, maybe the operantly-conditioned man isn't the primary...
  13. Gah!!!! Omg gnih-keyyyyyyyyyy!!!!! Only the 2nd time I've had to look up a word (non-medical) seen in this forum!! You sly minx u! I see that this Queen of the Iceni tribe is called "the first British heroine". So I'll label this bit of yankee ignorance excuseable once again. (Hehe ya, don't think I'm not keeping track! )
  14. OK - to finish filling in for a triple-post - here's something a niece sent me: ***STUFF TO DO AT WALMART IF YOU'RE BORED*** >-1. Get 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people's carts when they aren't looking. > >-2. Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals. > >3. Make a trail of tomato juice...
  15. Yay!! A burst of activity for TickleThread! From what I've heard, also don't expect his voice to sound like a grown man's! more than a little funny that you predicted this. Uhhhh . . . . why go on the date? Seems counterproductive. Hehehehehe "call" him one anyway! <hehehehe - cut 25%...
  16. Oh no ya don't!! Don't go bringing ME into this! <ONE of these emoticons must be right!> With my 2" sidekick screen, I actually have *less* info to base an opinion on than the rest of you. Perhaps an interesting tangential question is whether a GUY w/ a gaggle of chariot-worthy dingos would get even 1/4 of the attention. I'll guess no.
  17. I like this thread!! Good discussion of a worthy topic. (Wish I knew more) I do think it possible. No real evidence, but I can still *think* it until proven otherwise. "unofficial celiac"? And like u say further down, 'unseen villi damage' doesn't equal 'no villi damage'. Soooooo much to be learned about celiac still. Maybe...
  18. Mostly true, in my mind. 99% of the problems go away, but my bones and teeth are probably never going to get better. At least they stop getting worse!! (and perhaps some cerebral calcification may remain - not sure whether that reverses)
  19. That's an ocean of a problem for anyone! I'd still say that while you're 'officially' ""only" gluten intolerant." that there's most likely more going on. Of course I agree that there can be a vast spectrum of GI situations. As part of that, aren't some GI ppl's situations analogous to the lactose-intolerant who just don't produce the proper...
  20. I never looked into GI much. Is it really defined by the presence of anti-bodies? At 1st glance, it seems like a more severe definition than what I've inferred in my limited exposure to GI articles. I'd think there's enough variation in conditions that some GI folks have no celiac capability. Aren't some ppl allergic to peanuts w/out it being a death...
  21. Ah I *do* like hearing this. I have a theory that the 'tolerables' have an impact well beyond the relatively minor symptoms on the day a 'tolerable' food is consumed. Some sort of cumulative effect that prevents a bump up to a whole new level of feeling good. It seems possible that even just a once-a-week 'treat' can prevent a quantum LEAP in overall...
  22. To me it's the difference betw a backyard pool and an ocean. I'll go with Stephanie's GI quote and augment the celiac definition w/ this. Definite symptoms/conditions https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodi...-15104373588.a8 Probable symptoms/conditions https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodi...-15104373588.a8 Celiac will wreak havoc...
  23. Ahhhhh of course! Chi! I totally forgot. I've wondered about this origin of meridians stuff. Never heard an actual concept to explain it. This is great. Just saw part of a Nova on epigenomes, which they recently found control the cells' differentiation. An amazing 15sec graphic on how genes get turned off in 2 separate ways. Wish I had a link...
  24. You've probably both heard of the big SJ park 12mi from downtown, in Almaden. Yes *that* one!!! Very popular park built on mercury mining area, it's Open Original Shared Link
  25. Mmmmmmm homemade pessssssttoooooo I've been making it a couple yrs now and currently use 1/2 cup pine to the big 4oz store-bought bag of basil. The recipes always use 'cups' for leaves but I have no idea how loose to leave them to measure!! Used a frozen pesto ice-cube just the other night. mmmmmm
