ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
tom replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I admit it's controversial. It's not as cut&dried as . .. .. .well .. . . .black tea .. . which IS in fact both cut AND dried and moldy and fermenting. But my ND and most of the books I've seen put even green tea as a no-no. I'm real sure my experience was just the sugar. Suddenly my beasties got 0 sugar of any sort for a couple days,... -

Lisa, It was great to see your post w/ u sounding better. Sure wish they would've done some IV though. How are you today? Carla! Kat! We've got all the wind instr type covered right? Brass, reeds, non-reed woodwind? (What's the word I wanted?) (and don't bring up double-reeds as separate category dangit!!) And 3 types of emboucheres w... -

Ditto!!!!!! I love it too. For a while I got to play elec guit in a 'backyard band' (as opposed to garage band) in an unpopulated part of Monterey County. The drummer's wife learned bass to help him get the band started. It was a blast for them both. We even did a few gigs in downtown Mntry - some dark med-sized place on Franklin I think.... -

Arrrrrrrgh! If further proof were needed that Pops needs a change in diet, THIS lunacy is it! Huey is bar-band pop/rock. If an occasional sax solo makes a band Jazz, then Aerosmith is jazz too! (Michael Brecker was on an early album) I still have some floaters maybe once/wk or a little more. Certainly NOT gluten-related here!! Doesn't... -
One guess everyone - who makes the recommended additional enzymes? Precautionary?? Reminds me of an old joke about a talisman to ward off elephants. Set somewhere in the U.S., the salesman offers the lack of elephants as proof of the talisman's efficacy. Am I reading this right? She had had problems w/ wheaty shampoos at a certain salon...

BEV!!!! LOL That's fantastic!! <gasp> -
Hi Kaitlin! Incredible! I was just thinking today that I should start a Bay Area thread. I'm moving back to San Jose very soon. So . . . . . "-ish"? I hope it doesn't mean Hercules or Concord. I used to live in Fremont but expect to live next not far from downtown SJ. I was gonna start a thread to see if anyone wanted to try restaurants en masse...

My mind's as open as the Grand Canyon. You aren't actually disputing that gizzlePlug is a shill are you? Or maybe it's some wild coincidence that he/she made an account on the incredibly rare day a thread about some useless-for-celiacs product was active? Just in time to post less than an hour later to relate his/her personal experience w/ what a WONderful...

Oh nooooooooo I did NOT need a reminder of some ridiculous 1984 nylon white & black (aargh I don't know the right clothes words) non-parachute but FAR too of-the-moment-trendy for me pants that the band manager/kilo cola dealer paid for in an attempt to revamp the band's image to get more label attn. P.S. Should I clean up the "associating... -
ARCHIVED I Thought I Was Getting Better
tom replied to Boffin's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi Boffin & the other somewhat-newly gluten-free!! It IS very common to have issues w/ other foods once you are gluten-free. While gluten was still ingested, those reactions were greater, so the other foods reactions didn't get much notice, imho. THE . . . . . BEST . . ... THING you can do for yourself now is to start a food/symptom diary... -
ARCHIVED Bloating From Fatty Food?
tom replied to holdthegluten's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Hi holdthegluten! Looks like you're where I was in 2004. I wondered the same things. It took me an entire year before I figured out the main problem wasn't celiac itself anymore, but other issues created by celiac before I'd stopped the gluten. Your symptoms sound like a perfect match for Candida Overgrowth & Leaky-Gut (increased intestinal permeability... -

Behehbleheh<SHUDDER> is right!! No no me & the mulleteers didn't mix much. But I can't run away from a history of very short shorts, 'members only' jacket, and too many concerts I have no pride in. Oh! and the *most* ridiculous big-heeled chunky clunky 'dress' shoes in maybe 6th grade. Concerts that I went to on PURpose, buying tickets... -

Hehe but my point is that it's completely impossible for anyone to PROVE the notice was even *seen*! The unseen summons cannot be obeyed nor ignored. <feels like that sentence could end w/ "grasshopper" lol> -

It *was* all written as if it were an old theme!! Maybe it was, but *I'VE* never seen it before. All I can testify to is the last 20 pages or so. Besides, Richard, The Creator (hehe), I don't even know what other guys have been regulars. Heyyyyyyyyyy, I DO remember that the show was on in U.S., but I was watching very little tv back... -

Hi Kat, I'm right there w/ ya on the "base of knowledge" bit. I've been here just ~7 wks and while I've learned so much, I also don't think I could do much of a job explaining it to the uninitiated - which is a telling threshold, to me, between 'kind of' understanding and truly understanding. Isn't it amazing to *have* an R'ville as you start... -

Soooo glad I'm not alone in this. I was wondering whether this Family Farm might take "Organic" more by intent, rather than what the rules allow farms to 'get away with' and still be called Organic. I don't know much about what CAN be 'gotten away with' beyond what I've read here - it's surprising every time I hear more. But, Claire... -
This clown's a shill. Do NOT believe a word of "his" post. Who knows who it is or what PR position he or she holds at the company making this product. Look at when the c.com account was created and when the post was made. How much time did it take to come up w/ this p.o.s. total fiction post? For shame gizmoplug, for shame.

What the . . . . . Bev? Carla? Where has this come from!! My brain hurts!!! <oh and my virtual cybershelf needs dusting> STOP THAT!! You'll just encourage them! -
Ahhhh yes! Thx for the info Geoff! I'm sure small asian markets will work for me too. I didn't know whether there were more gluten-free tips beyond tamari. I guess not. I haven't had vinegar or sugar or tamari for >2 yrs so I might end up w/ just fish!! And I'll love every bite!!
-
They definitely do many flavors w/ gluten. At least 2 w/ cookies and one w/ brownies. Their market is dairy-free. We just get lucky that they're not ALL w/ gluten!!

Too funny! I remember seeing all of them except Barney Fife. Ole Georgie was quite awhile ago. He was probably 1st to pass, but I can picture and hear him perfectly. And who can't hear Paul Lynde doing those lines?? Hehehehe How Lucy Van Pelt of you!! Carlaaaaaaaaa!! Just how old *can* you make me feel!? Reeks... -

AAAAAAAHHHHHH!! I was just emailing yesterday w/ this guy who worked at the best Santa Cruz coffeehouse. 1st met him in my great days of '05, and he has a band, and it turns out will be finishing the new album in Sept and it suddenly looks like I'll be on a record again! -

Ya we do that a lot. A real space-saver, esp on OMG thread. Just do what you've been doing, whole post as a quote, then at THAT page delete whatever from the quote. Like the sculptor's response to how he gets an elephant from a block of granite. "Chip away anything that's *not* an elephant" <bah! I'm CLOSE to the right quote anyway!!> ...
