  1. Hey Bob!! Thx for the S. Tahoe tip! I used to, and expect to, go there regularly. A cousin used to lived just houses away from some that just burned - ugh!! Sadly, I won't be having any soy sauce of any sort. My brain just woke up in early June while trying soy elimination test. So I'm NoSoyBoy from here on out!!! :) But I expect to still...
  2. Blech moldbutter! My Powerball forays were just because I thought we needed a Rachelville Health Fund. It's too frustrating to see multiple ppl not getting tests or procedures because of stupid money. And hey, seemed like a good time of year for good luck. Now it's back to rarely playing whenever it's up to $200million. Feta &...
  3. I couldn't believe the start date when I saw the thread pop up under 'View New'. Then looking at it, what w/ the upcoming move & all, it's like a joke that someone somehow posts in it every 6-8 months! A veritable *flurry* this month! I'm thinking it's the Cicada of threads, dingo-rrrrita. Saw E.B. at some fest before the break-up...
  4. Gah!!!! LMAO Hoo boy did *I* ever forget who I was talking to! "Got entender if ya want it!" 2 wires. Diff elements. Connect 'em. Measure voltage. (Connectomundo!) :)
  5. "Looking for the name"(s)?? I know I haven't been getting out much for a few yrs but I'll still be very surprised if they're *"named"*. Are we talking a couple little nametags? Tattoos? Please not barcodes and PLU#s!! Ohhhhhhh OK! It must mean "hoping for the GIRL'S name to register!!! <phew! that was tough!> ROFLMAO!! woohooo...
  6. Oh no u di'-int!!!!! "Lamps Plus" is NOT a lightbulb emporium! And that "surprise" (dang! did I really use "surprised") u speak of was in NINETEEN EIGHTY FIVE!!!!! <tsk-tsk making fun of a mere child> Hehe it's at the tip - where 2 types of wires are connected. The other ends are where the galvanic voltage is measured. Does...
  7. FAAAAN-*TAS*TIK!! LMAO I was just finishing booking the flight, so ready to laugh at EVERYthing!! I did, at least, realize I may have unwittingly fallen into the trap of the cleavage-impaired. I'll go to the *grave* believing Men don't know that word. (Well, not straight non-fashion-designer men)
  8. WHOA! I'm officially more thrilled to be alive than usual right now!! It's another "Off to SJ Weekend"!!!! BwaaaHaaHaaaaaaaaa Saturday thru Tuesday = no pizza-oven life pour moi!! :) :) Wish I was there RIGHT . . . . . NOW tho. Free huge Music in the Park has The English Beat starting in 10 min!!!! ****************...
  9. Hi Rosewynde!! I'm moving back to SJ after thank-god-not-yet-2-yrs in Phoenix! Wondering if u have a favorite (or two) sushi place in the S. Bay! I SOOOoooo miss sushi. I've had other celiac-caused issues that have prevented me from eating much beyond what I bring to my house raw & make myself. But THOSE days are more over every week!! I...
  10. <she said . .. uhhhh . .. . . . . . . . . .wth she say??> OMG Tsu-zon you really cleared the High Bar w/ *that* one. bududump-bududump-bududump-bumpbump The Linguistic Ranger Strikes Again!! I must commend you. Seriously, that word was not only the first one I had to look up(!) here, but I'm real sure I'd never even *heard* of...
  11. Ya no kiddin' loraleena!! I half-expected to find a name for something I used to have. Ok fine, I can go google it myself . . . . . .ever so slowly . . . . . .on the sidekick I use for all surfing . . . . . . But I must admit - if it ain't Christmas, there's more than a *little* wincing for us guys at any talk about nutcracker! Bomp...
  12. Now just an almond-pickin' minute!! I do GREAT w/ that almond butter. Not to get too ContrarianSpice on ya, but are u sure the 200ppm # doesn't just come from the precision of the test? I'm pretty sure that a retail price for a 200ppm test is ~$10-20. (Bought some years ago) I'd venture a guess that a 20ppm test is well over 10x the cost...
  13. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm beeeeeeeer . . . . . . . Had to quit 5-7 yrs ago (been 100% gluten-free going on 4yrs but went nearly gluten-free well before). There was a time when I was about as much a beer connoisseur as a non-pro could be. I could distinguish about all of the major dometics & more popular imports in blind taste-tests. Friends stopped...

    ARCHIVED Thirst

Omg TestyTommy I got chills reading this!! What a fantastic Dr!! To everyone else - If you've been gluten-free a while and are still too thirsty, having some GI symptoms, bloating, exhaustion, hdaches, etc (many possibilities where I'm going), you may do yourself a GREAT favor by looking into Candida overgrowth. I saw more than a couple of posts...
  15. <tom's envious of those w/ DVR!> Have u seen that Dead Like Me we were talking about? I'm am SO sure you'd LOVE it!! For a while it was weekly reruns, but recently just the 2 marathons. the humor is right up your alley, I'm tellin' ya!! Bah didn't happen. The lottery gods didn't agree w/ me on an R'ville Health Fund. Oh...
  16. Omg this new study looks like it shows why docs used to say "he'll grow out of it" re: celiac kids!! https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodid=1491
  17. Hi Claire! I found coffee hardest to give up, by far. But the impact of giving up dairy is certainly greater. Too many dishes go better w/ cheese!! And I'm back on coffee. <where's that slightly embarrassed emoticon?> I used to call it "coffee surrender" when on the 4th day of C, I'd give up and have some. Ahhhhh problem solved. Then no more coff...
  18. Mornin' Patti! I can't say I'm positive which or both affects me either. I lean towards casein being at least a bigger issue, but not sure whether it's just from seeinf so much Gluten-free Casein-free talk, or that the molecular mimicry makes sense or what. And of course, maybe lactose WAS also a problem while the secretion spot tips-of-villi were still...
  19. Omg earlier I was reading too fast in the store to catch all this. Yay herx done!! And couldn't the herx songs be considered theme songs of sorts?
  20. Hey! I've heard so many ppl say I have what they have, I can't resist this - have u tried cutting out SOY???? Mmmm cheese as an ingredient may be the only thing I really miss. Looked long & hard at some goat cheese today. Have u considered trying goat cheese? I've had a spectacular gouda before. And the softer ones are *allegedly* very good...
  21. Hey Andrea, is it staying superhot in SW WA? And weren't u going somewhere? Was that PDX or did my cousin Ann say that? She's in Spokane.
  22. Hehe well I suppose it meant even less. If it HAD been PT, I probably would've at least tried to get it. The hiring guy wasn't in anyway, but it was a fun thought for a while. P.S. Being outside sucked so much, once I got home I went straight to my Last Minute Flights page. Yay top3 destinations all came up - rare. SJ, Portland, Reno...
  23. Oh holy sidewalk griddle it's ^HOT^ !! They may say it's only 107, but the monsoon is starting so the humidity's not the easy single-digit it's supposed to be!! And maybe I overextended a bit. Too many mid-day errands. But one was quite a change! Last wk dropping off my guitar for repair I saw a Help Wanted sign. Heheh I was only getting some...
  24. re: Rinne - I think the last post we saw she was on her 4th day of anti-candida diet. Hi Rinne!!! <tom waves> Hope you're doing better than your absence indicates. I wasn't so much asking the question as tossing an alternate theory into the mix - that other things DO cause candida. In my own case, I haven't seen the slightest inkling...
  25. "But u still can't have my BudLight!" or Mojito!! LMAO "alternate universe R'ville"!! Where the Green Kryptonite is gluten, the Red Kryptonite is yeast, and alien babies grow up to be Emporer! I dunno who could say flute is easy. It was hardest for me of the "seconds" (instr after sax). Guitar "deserves to be played", yes yes...
