Did the flavor the drink, becasue mine they put a mix that had gluten in it, and halfway through, i started projectile vomiting, and they had to stop and couldn't do it, this is after gluten-free for 13 years, but they wanted to find out if i had something else, cause the thyroid was acting up...

  6. I'm not advertising, but this might help parents with siblings who do not have celiac whose siblings are in the hospital or who are sick. It's called When Molly Was in the Hospital, a book for brothers and sisters of hospitalized children, By Debbie Duncan (my mom) It was published after i got better, and mentions celiac in the back in the authors note...
  7. I would say mono, talk to your doc about it, because you sometimes won't show up on the blood. Sounds like you feel horrible, but hope you get better soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Ive thought about it, but don't have the time in the summer. Have fun, and tell us about it when you get home!
  10. i'm allergic to wheat and have celiac. Your allergist can order bloood test, and then do the skin prick test.
  11. Here it goes, (be warned it is long...) So I was born on June 14, 1990. All was fine, started walking at 10 months, and was very healthy. Then when we started introducing solid food other than baby food (don't know if that is considered solid...) at around 15 months, i stopped walking, talking, eating, playing, living. They thought at first it was just...
  12. Protein and lots and lots of fatty foods is the only way to go. Hey im 5'8" and just over 90. I wish i could be 105. Everyone thinks i'm bulimic
  13. wow you are brave, i would say no the instant they said if i wanted to have it w/out anesthesia. I hate the gagging reflux sooooooooooooooooooooo much, i can't even do the step tests they have at the doctor. Glad you went through with it and didn't mind.
  14. I would eat gluten because that is the only way of getting a positive test, unless you don't care about having a comfirmative biopsy, then you might as well just cancel the appt, and say that the blood test is enough of a positive for you, because there are chances that the biopsy will be neg, even if you go back on gluten, but don't use that. If gluten-free...
  15. Okay I'm 5'8" to 5'9" and arond 90-95 pounds, and 15, so guess what i am accused of anorexia! but then when they see me eat, they think i am bulimic, cause i eat so much. I went to brunch with my grandparents and my uncle, and first ate like 10 pieces of bacon, and 5 sausages, with cheese and fruit, and shrimp. Then when i went to get my omlette, my uncle...
  16. Everything makes me sick except the compounded gluten free ibuprophine (i know spelled wrong...) from STOKES pharmacy. It might be that everything else has corn in it, i think the are supposed to be gluten-free, but not completely sure.
  17. For gas station food, the only thing that i would trust would be frito lay chips, that's the only thing that i get at gas stations on road trips. Congrats! Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. We have a blue one, but no attachments, ew have had it for like 20 years though............
  19. I do ice massages 3 times a day, and was going to PT but it cost 100 $ a week, and that was too much when my parents both don't make THAT much. I put it up and wear an ACE bandage constantl.y
  20. They won't do the surg. on me. I almost do mot respond to anesthesia anymore, (they give me more thatn the 350 lb men, and i am still awake...) and it takes like 6 weeks on crutches, which would mean my birthday/finals on crutches (which would suck) we are having a major swim party on the last day of school at my house. And i go to yosemite the weeekend after...
  21. I am p***ed that my GI 14 years ago thought I had a muscle problem, did an unnecessssary muscle biopsy, and that will probably keep me from playing soccer ever again.
  22. Backround, Muscle biopsy on L quad at age 19 months. 6 weeks ago, pulled that same quad, didn't play soccer for 3-6 days, got better. 4 weeks ago, completely tore the quad muscle. MRI said don't need surgery, BUT they said it might take 2-4 years to heal, and I was hoping to get in on a partial soccer scholarship. That's out of the way I guess...
  23. If she has sleep apena, I would suggest getting the surgeries out of the way before she really remembers it. I had sleep apnea, and had my tonsils out when i was 14, it was very painful and it gets more painful the older you are. , and then she wouldn't have to worry about the sleep apnea anymore. I had sleep apnea, and had t&a surgery, then had reconstructive...
