  1. I was in the hospital for 3 moonths, starving to death, and then finally tested for celiac disease, but even if i didn't hav symptoms, i would have like to know when i was little, rather than being kinda sick my entire life, and then having more complications.
  2. OK, I was diagnosed when I was a very small baby, and I am very grateful, now I don't know what gluten tastes like, so I don't crave it. Even if your child doesn't show symptoms, then you should have them testsed, becasue what if they do have it? then they will grow up learning the diet, instead of having years of being sick, and then realizing that celiac...
  3. you would have to talk to the chef because theymight marinate or flour the steak in soy sauce or wheat flour. The best bet is download some of the restaruant cards from www.glutenfreerestaruants.org (if that is wrong, i don't know how to spell restaruants...) and give it to the waiter, who will take it back to the chef, and then he can tell you what will...
  4. when i went on it las month, i gained 5 pounds, which was fine w/ me. i finally got over 100!, then dropped like 10 when i went off it.

  14. i would cut out all dairy cause that can cause major problems to a lot of celiacs.

  17. drink a lot and eat very bland foods. BRAT banannas rice applesauce gluten-free toast. mint a lot of times helps your stomach. Hope you feel better soon!
  18. the truffle brownies are really good. those are what i eat when in need of a major chocolate fix, i usually don't like chocolate, but since going casein free, i miss it a lot more than i though i would.

  20. that sounds a lot like a celiac reaction to skin products. you should check all your products, probably at least one of them has gluten.

  22. Pork makes me barf almost instantly, i think it might be that i just hate the taste, but i think that i might also be allergic to it.
  23. The forbidden list is really helpful. ALso with the new labeling lay, that helps a lot with the wheat but just remember that wheat free does not mean gluten free there are so many just wheat free products with barley as their main ingredient. Just take the forbidden lists with you and look around. If you are not sure, you can always call the company and...
  24. when i get casein, i get reactions for up to a week. You should be feeling better soon, and you will not be sick for the rest of your life, that would just suck.
