  1. I was in NO a couple of weekends ago. I'm not dairy free....so I'm not sure on that front. I went to a really nice restaurant in the French Quarter called Bayona (it's a Susan Spicer restaurant). It was pricey, but amazing. The chef was really accommodating and I had a great meal. It didn't seem like any food allergies (I would assume this would include...
  2. All of the Jelly Belly brand jelly beans are gluten free. I eat skittles all the time...it is currently my candy of choice since my original (twizzlers) is definitely out of the question.
  3. Hi Lisa, I'm pretty new myself (gluten-free a little over 2 months). I have recently started keeping a food diary to try and figure out if I have any other intolerances. In general I feel way better than I did...but occasionally have small upsets. I think the food diary is great way to see a pattern you might not realize if you are trying to keep track...
  4. Dove and Suave will label all gluten products. I use Oil of Olay Quench hand lotion and their face lotion too. As for the brushes...I'm sorry i can't help with that one.
  5. I called Tazo teas a little while ago to ask about their status. They said that there were only 5 of their teas that did not contain natural seasonings and thus could guarantee were gluten-free. I don't honestly remember if that was one or not. I remember Awake and Refresh. I called though at a random time and got through to someone knowledgeable pretty easily...
  6. I used the garabanza/fava bean flour in Bette Hagman's spiced banana loaf and it was pretty good. The banana, cinnamon and the chocolate chips I added must have masked it because I liked it. I haven't tried it in anything plain though like normal bread.
  7. Pizza Pizza is a Canadian chain...and I don't think any stores have ever appeared in the US. Hopefully US chains will do the same!
  8. Some are and some are not, even within the same brand. You'll need to call the company and see which shades are ok and then ditch the ones that are not. I have found with some companies, for things other than food, it does take some time for them to get back to me. I'm still waiting to hear about some of my lip glosses. Good luck!

  10. I use the Spice Banana Loaf from the Gluten Free Gourmet- Fast and Healthy (Bette Hagman). I add chocolate chips too but I think it would also be great without. My nonGF friends really like it too!
  11. Thanks! I'll try that next time.
  12. The Lundberg ones are really crumbly! It's annoying but after my illness with Quaker I'm way to scared to go down that route again. I'm jealous if some people can tolerate them well- they are the best!
  13. Thanks so much for all the advice! Have you tried freezing the soup after you make it...how does it turn out when defrosted and re-heated? I ask because that is what I used to do with normal pasta. I usually make a big batch at a time to save time later on. Thanks again. Rachel
  14. I was wondering if anyone was tried the Tinkyada pasta in soup? When I first went gluten-free- I made a big patch of veggie soup and used rice pasta- which did not hold up. I turned my back and all the liquid was gone and the pasta fell apart. The tinkyada pasta is so much more like the real thing..and seems a little tougher but I wasn't sure it would survive...
  15. I have been gluten free almost 2 months and had a dream about gluten last night! I was eating chocolate pudding (weird, because I haven't eaten that in years) and I could taste little bits of graham crackers! The taste was so real...I was panicking that I was going to get so sick! I think I had mine because I'm going out of town this weekend for the first...
  16. I was skeptical, but really liked them too. I found that you really noticed the cloves.
  17. I use Olay body quench. I switched to that after having a DH problem with Curel (the one that has oats).
  18. I have tried it with the Kinnikinnick cheese tapioca rice bread and softened some butter in the microwave and mixed garlic with it and toasted it with some parmesan. It's pretty good too.
  19. Thanks for the tip! I used to eat tons and tons of pasta and since going gluten-free I wasn't thrilled with the options...until I found the Tinkyada pasta. I'm always looking for good pasta...can't wait to try it!
  20. I was a little bit nauseous before I was diagnosed, but now that I've been gluten-free about 6 weeks, I've definitely noticed that I get really nauseous if there has been some cc. I start feeling really nauseous about 1.5 - 2 h after I eat something bad. it's also a warning sign to me too now that I should make sure a bathroom is nearby.
  21. I ate the Quaker rice cakes with peanut butter last week and got HORRIBLY sick! I've decided to stick with Lundberg after that episode. From what I've read Quaker says that NONE of their products are considered gluten free because of the way they store things. Of course, I realized that after I got sick. Rachel
  22. Me too! I used to think that the dating scene can be pretty brutal...and that was before this new diagnosis of mine. I'm just getting used to the new lifestyle I can't even think about dating. But I totally understand the thoughts of the original poster. I am a really low maintenance, go with the flow type of person...and now I really worry people will think...
  23. I'm a runner too! I have only run half marathons....have always questioned whether I could make it through the full distance. I always get really excited to train for a full one when I'm training for the half...and then usually on race day I think that there is no way I could do double the distance! I did pretty badly in my last half last year...ate pasta...
  24. I know that Amy's has had cc issues...but I was wondering if anyone got sick from their gluten-free frozen mac and cheese? I have eaten it a few times since going gluten-free (about 4 weeks ago) with no problem and then I ate it yesterday (and nothing else was suspect) and I was so sick this morning and I have been feeling really terrible all day. I'm really...
